I’ve been wondering. Do the Scions ever think about the sort of.. ‘power’ that they hold by being the people Ren has put his trust and faith in?

How often do they grapple with the fact that Ren would do literally anything for them?

At the point we're at right now, none of them except Alphinaud and Tataru really have a proper understanding of exactly how far Ren is willing to go for any of them. And currently those two are just content that Ren isn't actively contemplating hurling himself off a very long bridge, so they're willing to let his other issues slide at the moment. But that will absolutely be a very big concern for all of them later when it becomes clear this kid's love language is desperate acts of service and he has very little regard for his own life haha...

But you're absolutely right-- that's an awful lot of (highly troubling!!) power to have over someone who is himself supernaturally exceptionally powerful. And not entirely stable. I'm sure the hypothetical potential of where that could go if the Scions decided to be less... altruistic frightens the absolute hell out of a lot of authority figures! No wonder so many people are constantly side-eyeing the Scions!

I continue to play through Endwalker, and... god, I forgot exactly how the quest 'Unto The Heavens' ends. Man that entire ZONE is just gonna be a giant kick in the teeth from start to finish, isn't it...

I fear for poor Ren, by the time he hits Endwalker :(

Oooh! Some very interesting ideas there! Very well thought-out. :) I like them a lot! Especially Thaumaturge / Black Mage Ann! A witchy avatar of destruction to rival Y’shtola…

I could definitely see things playing out like this in a reality where the Thieves got pulled into Eorzea alongside Joker, especially taking natural plot progression into account. Unfortunately for my boy, I love the idea of his old party exisiting as his ‘Home You Can’t Return To’ too much to grant him such happiness, haha… Sorry you got saddled with a writer who enjoys tragedy, kid!! But at least certain Unique Circumstances make him a curiously good polymath??

In the process of reading Stars in the Dark, I got to thinking. What if all of the phantom thieves ended up in eorzea together, but they did not have access to their powers? What combat jobs would each of them choose? Ignoring level requirements and such. I have my own ideas on this of course (I will post them if you like, though be warned I have thought about this maybe too much lol), but I was wondering what your thoughts would be.

Recently obtained the 'Ancient One' minion and for some reason my very first thought was 'I wonder how Nshi's Ren would react to finding this little guy'

There's a LOT of minions I look at now and wonder how your Ren would react tbh. Mounts as well :P

The Miw Miisv is one of my favourite mounts haha! I just imagine Joker looking at it like:

N-7000: Allied life-form 'Joker' has been assured repeatedly that no physical harm will befall him if he enters the interior of the Miw Miisv. Proceed with the objective. A stranger who has found an even stranger war

So, it's kind of come to me in doing sketches for a fic idea (WoL does Acadeon as a Sniper King esc alter-ego as wrestling persona, Wuk Lamat buys it completely and refuses to believe the persona and the WoL are the same person) that Alphinaud seems to actualy be the boke of the two twins with Alie being the stright man.

Then I remember that scene ("Eyaaaaaa!") and then I realise.

Duh.

Haha! Yep, sometimes Alphinaud’s the sillier one of the two, and it’s always a pleasure to see. ;) The boy isn’t very buoyant!

I also love the idea of the WoL having a wrestling persona (hehe) for the Arcadion, and now I need to come up with one for Joker…!

Finished DT, besides one glaring, Baby Renamon sized, issue, it was pretty great all in. It’s going to be eons, but I kind of can’t wait for Ren and Wuk Lamat to be big dumb shonen protags together.

And maybe someone to give Krile a better script. Poor girl needs to fire her agent, because there’s shenanigans going on backstage.

'Baby Renamon' is an interesting unit of measurement, but I like it! :O

Yes, Joker is going to enjoy basically being her mentor haha! Not unlike Stormblood funtimes with Lyse! I think Ren just immediately likes anyone that reminds him of Ryuji, honestly (an appropriate observation, given it's his birthday-- I'll get to drawing something, I swear!) So they'll have a lot of fun together. :) Very minor DT spoilers: For that scene where she asks the WoL to hold her hand on the airship... I'm just imagining Ren going "Haha, sure! :)" And then realizing she has PAW PADS. KITTY TOE BEANS. (Because Hrothgars have them in my heart!!) And he's just... poking 'em with a goofy smile while she tries not to vomit from airsickness. Good duo??)

They really need to give Krile more time to shine. :(

I just thought of a scene I think that needs to be drawn, a truly important one. When Ren sunders the sky for the first time, and brings forth the night once again. That iconic scene of piercing the heavens.

so curious what role Fray will now play in Joker’s life. Are parts of his self still being separated?

Certain artworks of yours mayyyybe indicate that he’s still chilling around but I’m sure their “relationship” is going to now look very different.

Yeah, Fray may have become Arsène again, but as he said... He's altered now. A part of him is always going to be 'Fray', and its reflected in Arsène's updated design. And as we know from future Dark Knight quests, that's not the last you see of him as 'Fray' either. ;) But for right now he's content to settle back into Ren's psyche rather than pop up like a spooky ghost haha. Progress!

Thank you very much! <3 I recently started some new medication that should help with my chronic headaches / migraines, but it's got me feeling sooo damn tired. v_v I'm told I'll adjust to it and it won't be so bad after a bit, but right now I'm so sleepy... ;w; But it's better than constant pain, I suppose haha! Just got the mental thought of, if/when Joker reunites with the other Thieves, him refusing to include himself as a 'Phantom Thief'. Maybe he doesn't elaborate on why beyond the 'fact' that he isn't one, and get increasingly agitated if they press it.

Because I could really see him refusing to include himself as a Phantom Thief. After all, Phantom Thieves don't kill, and by the time they all get back together, he's done a whole hell of a lot of that.

Oh, you are going to enjoy Lakshmi's Wild Ride haha. ;)
