Update: August 12, 2016

I know all of you *he said facetiously* are eagerly awaiting an update on my tumblr but i wanted to come on here and say that this page will soon (potentially) host a new blog/short film series titled ‘Fractures’ that was previously my short film titled ‘Lowpoints’ and be an original story that will bring together written word blogs and video entries that will tie into one story. I know that I should be doing more creative things so here I am taking on a lot of work at the moment and planning to apply for grants etc. Please visit my twitter page; @odmkproductions!

Okay OKAY I’m updating!

I’ve decided to use my stupid Tumblr again! I dunno what I am going to do with it but I want to build a larger audience with all my social media platforms!

Anyway I guess I’ll try be a little more professional but don’t quote me on that. I can be a real bitch sometimes and there is not much that will stop me. So here I am, if you bug me maybe I will update it a little more, I doubt it, but I MIGHT.

Also, I have things I can repost from other pages to here if that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Day 733 of trying to live the dream, took a film course (Nu Media Program) made some friends, made some films, did the Winnipeg Aboriginal Filmmakers Collective (WAFF: as a volunteer, met Adam Beach, did the Adam Beach Film Institute (ABFI) worked with Adam Beach, wrote some short films, produced some, AD’d on some, have just been all-around-awesome. Almost done my first feature film (writing) and working on the Bachelorette Canada, finishing a screen writing class, etc, etc. Going to continue to be awesome.

I’ve been spending a lot of time updating my information and social networking pages so I could better engage with my followers! This is my tumblr page which I will periodically update from time to time with new information about my life and about ODMK Productions.

As of current I have joined in on a couple projects which I will eventually shed light on! Also, I will be making a .com page in the coming weeks for people to find me at anytime day or night and also company cards which will make me seem a lot cooler and more legit to anyone who inquires about my profession and what I aspire to be.

Gee- I sure have a long sentence for someone who writes at one of the biggest aboriginal news outlets in Central Canada! Why is that? Probably has to do with it being 3a.m. and me not being asleep yet! So with that, I leave you with this;

The Dream

As I sit here and think about all the great things to come I am reminded of a message. Be humble: all people have the capacity for greatness but it is hubris that will be the downfall of those who ascend it too quickly. Maintain perspective and take time to reflect all you have and keep perspective for that is the wisest thing you can do- see more then what is in front of you otherwise everything you do will be in vain. I started out as a meteoric #riser quickly having a local fan base and gaining notoriety but all the allure quickly faded when I realized the change ones ego can add to the equation. I fell back and decided to hold off on the fame and fortune knowing that it's a doubled-edged sword. #TheFameMonster will pull you along and leave you stranded. Which was why when I was 19 I wrote Ollywood as a letter to myself that one day everything will fade and my dream will devour me only leaving a nightmare to engulf the spirit I tried so hard to build up. Now 6 years later I am continuing that story with a 100 episode/10 season series which is called #RISER. Riser is the prequel to Ollywood and I've so far have gotten 1/4 finished. I continue to add and perceive new parts and characters and occasionally add to it hoping in 5 years I will have something to shoot. I look forward to that day. I hope I make it to there and when I have I'll know that all of this was not for nothing. -ODMK

ABFI

Last week I started at the Adam Beach Film Institute and it’s been such a great experience so far! I am so excited for my future and all the opportunities that I’ve gotten in this short amount of time. Imagine if I was this active in my pursuit since I started this journey 10 years ago! But I promised myself if I was still in it for this long then I would be invested enough to follow through with everything I set out to accomplish all that time ago.

This is only the beginning I have to keep reaching, keep dreaming, keep being that #RISER.
