Sweet Mother
Some five minutes past before Seris arrived at the location these shamans wanted to lead her to so she could communicate with their so called mother. A circular pool filled with some kind of green slime laid before them that was adjacent to a small wall dividing it off from the ocean just next to it. Torches were lit all about the walls of this outside ritual area. The oracle graced the ground with her feet, swiftly noticing the stone floor here was different, the markings were much more defined and exact, perfectly taken care of. “I love reading with my feet, lovely use of stone.” Seris said allowed even if it was disrespectful, the shamans didn’t even seem to react but did respond. “They are dire for the entryway to Wekono so if she is expecting you then you can simply enter the portal there and will appear before her in haste.” If cloth didn’t cover her eyes they’d notice her eyebrows raise in confusion at that. Gaze drawn back to the pool. That, a portal? It reeked of death, most likely because it was some kind of poison. Was unsure what to make of this, this must have been faith at hand, because only those with invitations could see Wekono they could not question it to be real or fake. Those that clung to such blindness disgusted her, unfortunately she had little choice. If this simply ceased her physical body from working she’d just kill them all when she made her body anew. “Very well, watch my artifact but do not touch it or you’ll perish like the other imbeciles you’ve probably sent in to this pit of death for the Abyss to feast upon.” Without her holding it the artifact’s cradle of silver fell apart since it was mostly not connected well, placing it upon the ground as it all laid about in a mess. With it out of harms way Seris stepped to the pool, no type of liquid like this was good for her orb so it was better to leave it behind. One foot after the other as she dipped her feet in, the green fluids reached to her knees before she purposely fell forward to fully embrace such a “portal” to the realm of Wekono. Expected to simply suffocate but suddenly the gunk that surrounded her instantly vanished. Jumped up from this spot to realize she was now in warm water, not poison, and to her surprise was no longer in those ruins. No sky could be seen, a dark mist covered the land with a gigantic tree the only thing to be seen for miles. Legs shifted through the water towards it to soon spot a hooded figure that looked somewhat similar to the shamans however she was surrounded by a dozen cobras. Upon stepping before the tree those snakes did not attack but watched with glaring, green eyes. “You follow my ways well without even knowing me, Oracle of the Abyss.” The hooded figure spoke at last, her face could not be seen yet her voice was distinct. She sounded quite old, a tad raspy yet mystical. “I don’t follow nor care about such ways, they merely intertwine with my actions, don’t mistake me for your blind faith mortal followers.” This new shaman could be right though Seris had done many things all across morality to where such a statement was probably only half-right at best. The oracle spoke without much respect for the one before her, to her if she did not know them then there was no point in giving an ounce of care to them even if such a person was important. However in this case Seris did know her but merely acted as if she did not. “That’s quite fine, I merely wanted to thank you for your acts of sorrow, so many have died to where humans call you by the city you destroyed. However they know more thanks to my followers, they have spread the seed of sorrow, the knowledge to those awake of what you did. By noon everyone will have known of the one from the Abyss, Seris.” Wekono laughed rather hysterically at that in a strained sort of way after saying all of that, after all the ways of human emotion were also just a game to her too, being the mother of sorrow and revenge after all. “I suppose it would occur sooner or later that all knew of my presence though I despise gawkers. Well might I leave then with directions of the world?” Seris bluntly asked of the snake mother however Wekono was willing to help regardless as the oracle paid enough price with all that she had done in the ways of sorrow. “The realm of mankind has changed since your time you’ll come to realize, journey northwest and you’ll find the heart of this conflict going on.” Mouth opened a bit in surprise from Seris that Wekono knew of where she was once from, no one knew of such an origin besides the elders of the Abyss. Wekono waved in a weak way, mostly only moving her hand from where it was before suddenly everything faded to black.

So I’ve seen a lot of what Seris doesn’t like about mortals like humans in your blog, but what does Seris respect / Envy of humans? (If anything)
[ It’s talked about a bit already but she really despises the human emotions humans were born with. Of course not all of these emotions are bad but the negative ones have the high chance of turning many mortals into dead weight when they dwell on them. Those that dwell on how pathetic they are, always act depressed, or anything similar will lose more than just any form of respect from her. She won’t even bother treating them worth their weight.TO ANSWER THE QUESTION she envies those that seem to break free of their emotion, the recklessly brave ones, even if acting in stupidity. Seris acknowledges their existence above all else as actually important. The oracle believes that the only way for humans to truly advance, to achieve greater heights is by breaking free of their fear and doubts and delve into the unknown. Humans have advanced only because they delve into the unknown, they take risks, like with introducing crystals into their cities. Now humans are willing to fight for those gems, it’s an impressive sight. ]

Had already not trusted humans enough already but when they began to dwell on their primal desires for fame and greed then there was even less reason to accept words that came from their mouths. Sha Lin was the greatest example of this, he was one who made his intentions seem noble but was always one working for himself alone, Seris knew the true motives of everyone after all. Morality of mortals was foolish, good and evil did not matter, only that you strive for goals that changed the world around you. Doing nothing or working to please yourself only kept the world still, there needed to be endless motion or life would end. Seris would not care for the likes of Sha Lin.
Sha Lin: geez Seris, do they not have a sun where you’re from?
Seris: *takes out her earphones from under her hood.* I didn’t hear what you said, but fuck you anyway. *puts her earphones back in.*

Bring Forth the Devoted
Slowly falling down her bare feet soon met contact with that solid, rocky ground. With such a graceful impact she was of course unharmed so Seris headed forth further into these ruins. This time around kept her feet to the ground, feeling the curved earth with her soles as every spot seemed to be distinct in craftsmanship and taken care of. “I knew mortals were odd but do they really have to be intricate in floor work? What could there be here that was so important to do so?“ The oracle wondered as her magical sight began to thoroughly look about for the answer. Many serpents were carved straight into the stone all around was the first sign. Had no clue nor cared what kind of snake it was however did recognize it’s existence. Runes carved into the ground in a circle were soon spotted in the midst of an area of interest. Water fell from above via some kind of traveling system for it though it seemed more for decoration than for human necessities. Stepping forward, Seris knelt down in the middle of these runes before sitting down, setting her position well so she could hover just above the ground so she wasn’t uncomfortable. She began to meditate, focusing her well being to be one with the Abyss, feeling the connections between it that were around her. With such concentration she almost missed the few shamans peeking at her from around a corner. “Witness well what lies before you, but please don’t cower it disgusts me.” Seris spoke loudly so they could not only hear her well but so they understood she did not appreciate their current methods. Soon enough the three came out from hiding and came closer to now directly find out more about her.  “We could feel many spirits pass on to the west, that was your doing, yes?“ The shaman to the right spoke first, unlike the other two he oddly wore no mask but a black hood though the rest of his clothes matched the two he came with. Mostly green clothing of everything they all wore but those brown masks in different shapes with dark skin underneath. “Yes it was, what of it, mortal?“ Seris swiftly replied back as if she already knew exactly what she would say back, foreseeing their question. “Mother Wekono told us of your arrival and asked us to bring you to her.“ The same shaman spoke up, he seemed to be the leader here or the other two were simply too afraid to talk though it was hard to tell with those massive masks covering their expressions.  The oracle thought on this well, never did she care for the religious superstitions of humans although in this case could use directions. Let out a loud sight as she began to raise her body up and return to a standing position as her body continued to remain off the ground for the moment before letting her feet kiss the rock. “Very well, take me to your mother then and be quick about it.“ The three all seemed to look at her funny but remained silent as they turned around and led her, the oracle followed.

“Do you know the tale of the Stagalla? Built of stone long ago, the ancient order created them to help fight their battles for them. They were fearless, they even lacked the feeling of pain, quite unstoppable were these rocky creatures.“ A hand of stone raised up to capture the oracle’s attention, Inara no less. “But how did so many die off then as we know today?“ The Stagalla asked, curious eyes looked forth that already knew the answer as Seris replied back. “Because they were fearless, without the comprehension of failure they acted rather reckless. As time carried on not so many remained, those that did learned what their masters could not teach. Despite gaining such pathetic emotion, unlike humans they did not let it take hold of them, they used this fear to fuel their strength to fight far more greater than any human could. The Stagalla all could succeed where humans could not and used their negative emotions to achieve greatness.“ Letting her own feet touch the ground finally, the oracle stepped forward to Inara and brought her right index finger and thumb to that stone chin. “You are a wonderfully-crafted individual.“
Seris and Inara. I mean I can see this working in a sense as Seris is far more simple to where she can closely bond with anyone that doesn't show a bit of fear. At least I see her as one not respecting those that show weakness whether it's fear or sadness. As for Inara she'd probably love just about anyone but would be greatly confused about someone wanting to "date her".
a very respectable ship indeed, oracle. i’m sure at one point inara can come to terms that someone would want to date her and we can have the terrifying power couple of seris and inara. i’d imagine that two extremely powerful beings who dont seem to show a shred of fear would be very intimidating indeed

“That’s it yes...It’s coming to me now.....You’re an imbecile. Very much so.“ She responded to the woman before her that sought such a telling of the future as they mistook this woman for a fortune teller. However regardless if she was not one what she said was true, they really were as ignorant as she said since Seris could foretell what was to come. This mortal would perform mistake after mistake, many that she may regret and look back on numerous times especially when that emotion humans carried lingered on negative moments they had endured. “Though being foolish is what makes your kind so wonderful, even when you take such a fall you mortals get right back up. Gods don’t.“
Clearly Seris with a C1 expression as we need far more cocky Seris.
Tumblr media
Not quite cocky but definitely mocking. Added a pop of colour because Seris deserves more love and attention.

Skybound
Hovering just above the ground east until soon enough after ten more minutes of traversing through this accursed woodlands she met the other side. Stood now before a cliff that seemed to overlook ruins of some kind while adjacent to the ocean. “Not much to see from here.“ The oracle thought to herself on this as she specifically gazed all around with a focus on these ruins. Looking over to the left wondered if there was even a point to moving off that way to see if the trees thinned out there but didn’t think so with how long it took to get here already. An idea popped in her head instead that would be far more simpler, at least in the sense that it would take far less time to do. With a grandiose amount of concentration she lifted herself up higher and higher, soon enough going beyond the grand trees of the forest behind her. Could now and did lift herself one hundred feet in the air but couldn’t move around or travel like this so it wasn’t too practical besides seeing from a higher vantage point. Seris could see just about everything there was to see though the darkness of nighttime shrouded plenty.  Rather far north, past several hills numerous lights could be seen of shimmering blue hue. It reminded her of that first city but this one seemed to be far smaller in comparison. To the east past these ruins right below her there were even more ruins, however she couldn’t place her finger on it but they seemed different somehow. The ones northeast from a glance appeared well maintained while the ones southeast looked like the opposite and parts of it had fallen into the ocean. Had not bothered to look west even though there might have been more to see beyond the once great city of Seris. For now with everything she wanted looked at seen she let herself fall back down in a slow graceful manner. Seris shifted her body forward so as she descended she’d also drop off that cliff at the same time to reach the rocky-carved structures below.

Soulful Kindness
It was still late, quite the bit of time to go until dawn returned yet again. After a moment of recollecting herself the oracle levitated herself up instead of just normally standing up off the ground. Thankfully still recalled her way through this forest or at least the way she came from which was from the right of her as that way led to the ruined city. The oracle’s entire body rotated left and began to move on ahead into the unknown. She had no exact idea on where she was heading however the best plan would be to venture away from that entry point she created to enter this realm. Not because others would soon find all those dead and blame here but because this way she’d run into another city in due time. With almost an hour of seeing tree after tree it made the bored Seris wonder how this landscape wasn’t thinned out for resources long ago with how long mankind has existed. “It takes longer to journey through this plane than I expected. Or perhaps these trees cover the entire planet and I’m about to walk right back into that pile of rubble they call a city.“ If one were to hear her they might not even know if she was being serious or not based on that tone she gave. Sure enough one did hear her though didn’t bother commenting, as they couldn’t even talk, or even move. This man laid against a rather specific tree that was pressed against another, limping over that wood did to support itself from falling over. Sight had gazed all over and spotted him clear as day to the left of the direction she was heading. They seemed to be wearing something military-like in style though Seris herself did not know such a thing. A dark blue jacket with slate, cargo pants and some kind of combat-oriented boots. At first considered simply leaving them be and carrying on the way she went yet those wide eyes they carried about simply lured her in as she continued to gaze at them. With a sigh this Abyss dweller turned towards the mortal’s direction and came over before letting her feet touch the ground once she got close enough. “That looks like an uncomfortable spot to rest. Are you injured?“ The oracle knelt down, lifting the orb she carried up to their face to get a better look at them. As soon as the artifact drew close the human’s eyes trembled with fear, it was as if he knew the dangers of this object. Thinking upon such a gear he appeared to have Seris began to figure out what was going on. “Mnhh....So this is the edge of the pull the Abyss had on sucking away souls. Just barely escaping perhaps? It seems to have broken your will...I suppose I can mend you, after all I have no need for your soul anyway since I’m now here.” Had a nice yet light laugh at that, teasing the man even with such threats. Right hand of the woman drew to the orb, the crystal upon her palm glowed and out came a green essence as Seris then began to donate it directly to the injured one. As it came out from the artifact, all those souls made their typical, dry, weakened, quiet screams before being pumped away as energy to take shape as the parts of this man’s soul that were torn out. “That should do it.“ It took a good couple of seconds before the male even realized the strength returning to him. Head looked about before turning back at the Oracle. He couldn’t even speak after finding out she was behind such a horrible incident to his own body. Letting out a vicious scream right at her, he scraped to get up to the right before swiftly picking himself up to sprint off as far away from her as he could get. They seemed to run until Seris could see him no longer. “Well it appears he’s feeling better...I believe I did my good deed of the eternity.“ With that settled she picked herself back up and tried to venture the direction she was heading in the first place.

“Cloth attire fits you much better than all that hulking metal you lift around like it’s cargo. I never did understand armor, protection is only protection so long as you cannot break through it. However I suppose I can agree with wanting the best advantage possible.“

The First Encounter
Long ago before the ways of magic became widely accepted and even existed altogether it still had taken form in another way. Salvation. ... The shattering ring of a church bell chimed out all across the town as a crowd gathered around a broken down well. This well was known by those that lived here to be cursed as no matter what was put in here it never hit the bottom nor did it ever come back up.  Two bearded men dragged adjacent to the crowd a woman by both of her arms who seemed to be unconscious. Her eyes slowly began to draw open, not fighting against those that forced her along. She appeared to not even have the energy to do anything at all let alone stay awake. Numerous times had she regained her consciousness in the midst of whatever that was going on, all of it a blur to her. Soon she had reached a halt. “At last! Your kind-...-once and for all, witch!“ Another male’s voice rang out just like the ring of that bell from before that rung out. This so-called witch could only listen somewhat, hearing only some of what he had to say to her. “...-to death for crimes of witchcraft and-...“ The rest she seemed to miss as the next second to her she was being lifted up and easily held over the well. Again her mind went to black but as her momentum went downward she began to gain some added focus. The bricks of the well seemed to go on for miles before the walls beside her turned to nothingness. This raven-haired lass had fell... And fell... And continued to fall until at last she had fallen for so long she didn’t even notice when that feeling of falling had instantly ceased entirely. Unlike a typical drop her body did not crash into ground, in fact it never even turned, still in the same direction as it was when falling. Her sight returned to her, a light glow of purple next to her as that artifact was at her side. Numerous trees stood around her in the midst of a forest in the dead of night as she gazed about at them all to remember where she was. “Urgh that vision again...? How troublesome...“

The majority of all life seemed worthless to such a traveler of the Abyss like Seris. Emotions typically seemed like a burden on their kind, granting more negative effects to them than positive. The only true feeling Seris could respect were those that were or similar to confidence. Through her entire lifespan such attitudes were the only defining ways the world advanced. Braving into the unknown to find, change or create something new was how those breathing could continue to exist. Seeing those fight for causes they believed in, even if they were not sure if those reasons to fight really were right took bravery. Even if their kind was inferior, their willingness to alter the world around them and refuse to die was immensely impressive to her, especially with this woman before her. Even now with the famed Paladins fighting against the Magistrate, it gave her reason to also join in and do something as perhaps humans weren’t so useless after all.
I've never been one to really ship Seris but thinking about it I'd love to see Seris and Vivian as they're both egotistical cunts in their own ways in a 3 sentence fic.
3-sentence fic
“Oracle, I came to you because you can give me what I need.”
Vivian’s hair flopped into her eyes, sweaty and bloody like she’d fought her way to talk to Seris; with a slow and pulsing sort of thought, Seris supposed that she actually had– the courtyard outside is silent, crystals embedded in the walls giving off a baleful glow, a glow that shows on Vivian’s bared eyeteeth, her ugly scowl, the bandages wrapped tight around her chest and up her throat, sickly blues and purples eating away at her from the inside.
Seris, in all her years, has never seen someone with such dignity stripped away to base determination and ravenous ambition– like any thing this Realm has to offer her, the feeling of it is intoxicating; Seris has stood in the ruins of a city and she senses that in due time, so will Vivian;
green flows from her palm into the woman in front of her, leeching the choking poison out of her, and Seris can’t hold back a smile as Vivian bites her lip hard enough to make it bleed.

And then there’s Seris, at it with the panty shots again (and not giving the slightest damn about it, most probably).
