He says this to you KNOWING that you had a very intimate "girls night" with Shadowheart. Halsin is out for a hunt, you know he wouldn't dare ask for a night of you after being ravaged by that man mountain. He can't help but be intrigued by the giggling he overhears once in a while. 

you're rather caught off guard. This is the man who told you in un-minced words "with you?! no, never!" They've echoed in your mind for quite a while. Even though two people have gained your companionship as lovers, rejection from someone like him can't help but sting. No matter how you try not to show it. 

"Are you just trying to tease me, Astarion? You told me that I wasn't your type and if you're going to rub salt in the wounds, I would prefer if this stopped here." 

You sit next to the fire and put a kettle on to brew some tea. The water isn't the only thing bubbling. 

"My dear, I have come to realize something I have never been able to admit to myself. I ......was wrong about you."

You can hear him almost throw up when he says that last bit. This stuffy irritating little posh boy admitted he was wrong? is the world going mad? well, worse than usual? 

"What do you mean? You seem to take issue with everything I do if it involves saving someone. That's kind of the opposite of someone who is supposed to want something....besides friendship. I didn't even think you liked me as even that, I was just a blood bag for when you were too weak to fight."

"Well, if that's how you see yourself, why do you even allow me to do so at all? Surely THAT is a mixed message as well!"

You clench your fists and grit your teeth. You practically want to deck him at this point. 

"I do it because I don't believe in abandoning someone who already has it difficult enough. I will not allow you to treat yourself the way Cazador treated you and only feed on scraps."

Astarion's expression suddenly changes, then back to his sly seductive tone. 

"But darling, you know I was just thinking about you," almost like he's trying to start over. 

"Remembering the time together and things we've shared, and I don't just mean that lovely little neck of yours."

You stare at him eyes wide in disbelief. He MUST be joking.  

"Astarion....are you unwell? Did you hit your head in that last fight? Have you not fed enough? Otherwise my next assumption is that you've gone mad from that tadpole because this is NOT like you to say to me!"

"Perhaps I'm just getting to like the whole package, honestly. And it's Clear you like me too. " 

Your jaw almost drops when he says the last bit of what he is trying to tell you. You HAVE harbored an attraction to him, but that sting of him turning you down at the Tiefling party is fresh in your mind. 

"Then....why did you say what you said at the party? It was rather hurtful. This is why I am confused. People don't say those sorts of things to people they want to get into bed, that is to shoo someone away." 

Astarion pouts in his sassy manner before he replies with "Tsk Tsk, still rather sore about that are we? I recall you didn't spend the night alone in the end, so what is the problem?"

Then suddenly it hits you, "are you toying with me because Shadowheart slept with me instead of you?"

He acts like he's taken aback but you can tell he's feigning his shock. "My dear! You truly think me to be so petty?"

"Yes, that is literally how you live every moment of your life. It can make you a downright insufferable git, but you are OUR insufferable git. This whole camp would die to protect you from anything! The tadpoles, the hunter we met in the swamp.....even Cazador. Regardless if we like everything that comes with you, you are still one of us."

Astarion freezes when you mention the name of his former master. He shoots you a look of venom but then softens, realizing it's just his name and you don't mean to open an old wound.

"and yet you are the only one who allows me to feed on them, despite the fact I almost drained you dry and almost killed you the first time! That is not something someone does for just a compatriot!" 

His tone is almost scolding, like a misbehaved brat talking out of turn. You take a deep breath, now becoming frustrated at the fact he is practically backing you into a corner to tell him how you feel. 

"Honestly? I give up. I'll tell you everything, just give me your hand."

"What on earth?!"

"just fucking do it....." You raise your voice at him more than I wish and put a scroll of Detect Thoughts into his palm. 

He looks at you puzzled, wondering why. 

"This is our last one, and there will be no telling how long it will be before we find a merchant or ingredients."

"We can wait. This is more important. Just, get it over with...."

He opens the scroll to absorb it. It glows in front of him before he is engulfed in a thereal aura that shows it's working. You take a deep breath and hold yourself together via your crossed arms, almost like you're shielding from something that isn't there. 

His face sluffs into a sorrowful expression as he sees your entire life. You were a child tormented by your peers for looking different than the other dwarves, you were an outsider from Baldur's Gate. You were called ugly, stupid, worthless, traitor. One time, a boy burning off all your beautiful red hair, it took almost a year to grow back. You don't trust anyone after they have hurt you once, as they once tricked you into a trap via meeting a boy, hence the burn scars on your palms from where they tripped you into hot coals. When Astarion rejected you at the party, it was like it happened all over again, and you went to the magic mirror so you could see something other than a reminder for a change. 

"My dear.....I had no idea....they were absolute MONSTERS to you!" 

Tears are flooding down your face. The veil is gone, the mask is gone, all pure emotion. This is the kind of information you feared your entire life that someone would find out, and you don't know how to react other than to just not fight holding back anymore.

Astarion doesn't know what to do. What have I done? a thought he now felt ruined everything for the evening. This is the last outcome he wanted. He pulls out a handkerchief and holds it out to you, but you are so upset you can't even see a few feet in front of you. He moves closer, a hand under your chin as he tilts your face upwards, dabbing at your tears as lightly as a feather. Considering how many locks and traps he disarms for you daily, you shouldn't be surprised he has such a light touch

"If it makes you feel any better, this is the last thing I wanted. I wanted to see your cheeks blush because you desired me, not because I said something to bring tears to those beautiful eyes."

Even though you assume this is still simple flattery, you are willing to accept it. A barely audible "thank you," escapes your lips.

"See? I am not truly so heartless, am I?"

A small smile escapes your lips. Perhaps he really does mean what he says. at this point, at least you've said what needed to be said. However, one thing still needed to be confirmed. 

"Thankfully, I know you clearly like me too. I just hope I haven't ruined at least one second chance beyond tonight."

"Wait, what?!" You gasp, you thought he would have been preoccupied from what the scroll showed him to know how he could have deciphered that. 

"Even had you not given me that scroll, I could feel it....all those nights where I would get lost in your neck. Your little shakes of excitement.....oh, there's one of them now! You enjoyed it, didn't you?" As he strokes his hand up your exposed arm, you wore a very revealing dress for your evening tonight compared to your armor. You washed, combed and oiled your hair into some neat basket like braids, darkened the paint you usually wore on your eyes to look more like makeup instead of war paint, and wore jewelry you found kept in the camp to sell later. it glowed against your skin in the moonlight unlike anything that captivated him before, but he is the one who is supposed to be seducing YOU.

You can see into his mind from the scroll as well. While you were chatting about magic tricks with Karlach, Wyll, and Gale, you recall something from earlier that evening. Astarion, Shadowheart, and Halsin were out of earshot speaking about something you couldn't decipher, but you thought nothing of it until now. It looks like Astarion had a conversation with the two of them privately to.....get their permission? 

Halsin took no convincing, as whatever you wanted is always his priority. However, he made it very clear to Astarion that he was your protector, and if all he wanted to do was toy with her feelings, then there would be problems. The same came from Shadowheart, but her encouragement from her voyeuristic curiosities were more apparent. She wanted to hear all about it just like your first night with Halsin, and keeping it a surprise from you during your date was almost torture. 

"wait, they knew you were going to do this?"

"well, yes! I figured you would enjoy that you didn't have to do the asking this time!" He chuckles and strokes a hand through your hair, admiring the fresh braids you put in tonight. Even though you didn't get dressed up for him, he loves that you look beautiful nonetheless. 

"That is...if you are not spent from your evening.....but we can try for another night if you are too exhausted....though.....it is no burden to me to do all of the "work" once in a while."

His voice is so sultry and seductive, only a master at the art of seduction could get past how he is speaking to you. Shadowheart did wear you out this evening, but not as badly as she could have. Maybe that's why she was more....demanding of you this evening.

You get surprised that he picked up on a bizarre fascination you've had for some time....how it would feel for him to feed off you right as you climaxed in his embrace. It seems you were going to find out eventually. 

"Wait until everyone is asleep and then we may slip away.I know somewhere quiet where we can....indulge each other. I just hope it's not too long before we can steal away."

Halsin fanfiction completed with a return to the grove with my multiclass Druid Bard (final edits!) -there is a version where pregnant Astarion teaser with plans to go off the rails with a very self concious Tav with body dysmorphia (teaser done!) A small tidbit WITH edited clips from the game where I Steal Shadowheart FROM Astarion at the Tiefling Party because I have a thing for stealing girls from jerks (this was when Astarion turned down my dwarf) I AM planning on orgies and group stuff BUT I am taking classes on how to write female empowerment smut....which includes threesomes with men that aren't so misogynistic like 90% of mainstream porn (I only like the niche stuff usually written by LGBTQIA fems) Ok, folks.....place your bets. Introductions

Hello fellow writers and creators. I am a writer out of Minnesota, got bit by the creativity bug after playing Baldur's Gate 3. I have 2 mains. A multiclass SporeDruid-Bard-Monk Shield Dwarf in Baldur's Gate 3 but her character is more fleshed out in my campaigns with regular Dungeons and Dragons. Her name is Bridget Earthwalker. Her preferred animal forms are usually Feline related. I do plan to write several smutt fanfictions, as well as just some general things I think would have been awesome to get in the game but we didn't. Thankfully Larian is agreeable! I do currently love Halsin, Shadowheart, and Astarion the best even though all of the characters are sexy and have their own charms. However, I don't believe in monogamy thus the characters that also share that feeling are who I am drawn too. Halsin's romance angle will have a chronicle series I'm working on set as if Tav got sick of Baldur's Gate and ran after him to help him rebuild the shadowlands. Some stories that tie into it will be flashbacks so people can not get jumbled as to what's going on, as I plan on releasing writings as they come to me. Also keep in mind that I know I can't romance ALL of the above at the same time, but its my work and I can do what I want! Plus Larian should change that, in my opinion. I already submitted the feedback saying Polycules exist! I'll have other works that feature Shadowheart and Astarion but the chronicles project has my attention hostage right now. This is going to be LGBTQIA friendly, sex positive, healthy, non-toxic, Pro Polyamorous smut. ANYONE who has a problem with that, is in the wrong place here. I look forward to connecting with fellow likeminded writers and artists who share my unhinged obsession, and I'm open to ideas! Just remember the difference between constructive criticism and a dick move!
