You are so right about directors using Jesus Christ for the aesthetic instead of any substance in the narrative.

It made no sense to code Dracula as Jesus while he was dying (especially when he spent the entire movie throwing tantrums about how God has personally wronged him because (checks notes) his wife killed herself and he turned himself into a vampire) and it makes even less sense with the Creature's creation. Even within the framework of the movie he's not even created to save or absolve mankind, unless they completely change Victor's whole motivations. But even if that's the case, it still will not make sense because the point of a Jesus archetype is that they go to their martyrdom willingly and due to their devotion to the cause/orders/higher power. The Creature is the exact opposite of this.

Very good take. I think that if you’re going to compare a character to Christ then that character should be/have done something Christ-like. Otherwise what the hell is the point, narratively? What are you trying to convey about the Creature, other than that you don’t understand him at all💀
