I Carried a Watermelon now has art!

Art by the ridiculously talented @floweryanarchy who I commissioned as soon as I was done writing the whole fic, as a treat to myself. (She’s given me the OK to post!)

My favourite detail is Gale’s full 1990s NHS specs, and I can’t believe how good she’s made them look on Gale. Actually how good she’s made them both look. I almost walked in totally the wrong direction on the tube today, that’s how excited/floored I was for this.

My BG3 headcanon: Astarion truly cares about his Tav | Durge, doesn't matter if they are friends or lovers, so when his dearest had a date night, he secretly followed, just in case.

Nivasi's entire catalogue is full of gold and this one is an underrated gem. Once I read Gale licking blood from Astarion's lips I couldn't get it out of my mind.

Well I kinda started working on it.

So here you go:

“Over the last ten years we have been all over this Faerun! From chili dog eating contests in Neverwinter to sampling the best brews Waterdeep has on offer. But you know we’ve never explored our own backyard. So for this episode we are taking you home to Rivington! I’m Karlach Cliffgate and you’re watching Taverns, Inns, and Tacky Tours 2.0!” 

“Cut!” Lae’zel yelled. "Moving on!"

Lae’zel took the camera off her shoulder and walked towards their next shot. She paused in front of Karlach. They were so close now, the plush of Lae’zel’s vest grazed against Karlach’s signature flame shirt. They had grown closer while filming this season of TITTs 2.0, but she guessed that’s what happens when you’re forced to room with someone due to budget constraints. Karlach could feel her heart thumping in her chest. She could smell Lae’zel’s body spray, a unisex scent of leather, ginger, and if Karlach focused just a hint of lime. It was musky, tropical, and divine. Unknowingly, Karlach bit her lip. She couldn’t afford to get so horny for someone she worked with! Not again, not after everything that happened with Zariel. Then again it had been months since she banged someone. She knew from several late night conversations that Lae’zel was into some kinky shit. Now Lae’zel was standing shoulder to shoulder with her. She waited with bated breath to see what her producer was going to do next. 

“Uh, good job,” Lae’zel punched Karlach in the shoulder. "Thanks roomie," Karlach rubbed her shoulder where the sinewy Gith had hit her. She tried not to cringe as she thought about how her voice had shot up several octaves just now.

Sometimes I read a fic and am plagued with visions so strong that they need to be drawn or I will never know peace, which was the case with On Poisoning a Cherry by positivejam on AO3 😩 For as much as I love sweet, they-make-each-other-better bloodweave oh baby do I also love when these two buttheads feed off of each other in a manipulation tango where they both think they're the clever one, and this fic is just 👨‍🍳👌 scrumptious. And as someone who struggles to visualize literally anything, this was vivid ogugh it's so beautifully written-

With that said, I think it's understandable that I just couldn't stop thinking about how pretty Gale would look like this and like... look at him RAAAAAAAAAAA

In this chapter: Some new faces stop by the bodega. Astarion and Karlach attend the math course, which gives Karlach some trouble of her own.

General summary: After dropping out of school years earlier, Astarion decides to get his GED. There’s one problem.

He’s ‘functionally illiterate’ and needs to take remedial language classes and get a tutor.

And who is that tutor? Why it’s Gale Dekarios, of course.
