There is so much amazing about this. It's an archeological museum in 530 BCE or so. Also, the exhibits are labeled in three languages. Also they apparently had replicas on display for some things, much like modern museums do.
Humanity has not really changed that much, and some of the ways in which we haven't changed are really good.

one of the best ways i’ve found to combat that inherent depressive pessimism without veering into toxic positivity territory is simply the phrase “i’m open to the possibility”
this particularly works with anything negative i’ve forecasted. “i woke up feeling like shit today, so my day is gonna suck” isn’t a particularly helpful thought, but “it’s a great day to be alive!!!!!” feels hollow and insincere when i have a pounding headache & am running on three hours of sleep
instead i’ll tell myself, “i really don’t feel good right now, but i’m open to the possibility that coffee and breakfast might perk me up a bit.” or “i’m in a lot of pain today, but i’m open to the possibility that my workday might still have fun parts despite that”
sometimes, when your impulse is to slam the door on anything good, but you’re not exactly up to going out & hunting it down yourself, leaving the door open just a crack makes all the difference

Yeah, this is important
Robert Eads (1945–1999) was an American trans man, whose life and death was the subject of the award-winning documentary Southern Comfort (2001).
Eads transitioned later in life, and as such it was deemed inadvisable for him to seek gender-affirming surgery to male genitalia.[1] Eads was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1996, but due to the social stigma faced by transgender individuals, more than twenty doctors refused to medically treat him on the grounds that taking him on as a patient might harm their practice.[1] When he was finally accepted for treatment in 1997, the cancer had "already metastasized to other parts of the body, rendering any further treatments futile."[1]

I feel like a lot of people don’t quite get what a butler is. The role tends to get rounded off to ‘male servant’ pretty regularly in some media, whereas actually butlers are typically not just servants but chief servants. The butler was generally in charge of either all male servants or just all servants, period, in the household of an aristocrat or other very wealthy person. This meant that butlers have often been fairly powerful and influential people, and sometimes even had a manservant or two of their own.
(Also, fun fact: Mary Roberts Rinehart, the early 20th century mystery writer who is widely credited with popularizing the whole ‘the butler did it’ trope was nearly murdered by one of her own servants, a chef whom she had passed over for promotion to butler. He came at her with a pistol, but it jammed, allowing her chauffeur time to wrestle it away and restrain him.)

funniest aspect of being in a transfem for transmasc marriage is that I'll show my wife my gender goals, which are like, photos of onlyfans models, and she'll be all "hubba hubba awooga arf arf arf" and then he'll show me his gender goals and it'll be a man who looks just so unfathomably busted like he looks like he got put into a food processor and then killed with hammers

You and tumblr are meant to be together because you know each other so well
Fandoms are like "oh, these two characters are meant to be together because they know each other so well" yeah, mostly on account of the fact that they each have one (1) discernible personality trait.
