09-05-18 Updating with a new content after ages, my bad. 😅 Hello everyone! Here is my bujo for the month of May, spread from last week. I’ve been into multi-tasking these past few weeks, studying while re-watching the sequel of Harry Potter and yes, i’m not so much into it (lol). It’s a shame for a 19-year-old like me to watch the whole story of HP and find it very amazing! I’m so amused with the story up to the character and cinematic! That is why my theme last week was inspired by the movie. :) I’ve been also planning to make another bujo like this but not right now coz finals week is approaching! I am currently studying Cell and Molecular Biology bec. we’ll be having our exam there this coming friday, so yep. I just updated everyone and now have to go back to studying. Hoping for everyone’s success for today! :D wish me luck studyblogger! 🙏🏻

We all need breaks, obviously, but in my experience, rewarding yourself with a YouTube video or an episode of a show just leads to your productivity inertia completely dying out. So instead, here are some suggestions for things you can do on your break that definitely won’t require much of your brain, but will keep you in an efficient mindset!
things to do on a 5 minute break
air out the room
make a cup of tea or coffee
put away laundry
stretch out neck, shoulders, and legs
tidy up your desk
send a nice message to someone
take studyspo pictures (remember! no more than 5 minutes! leave the editing!)
water your plants
tick things off on your to-do list
take out the trash
make your bed
check that your pet has been fed and has water
cut up some fruits and add to a bottle of water; take the now infused water on your next break!
start the dishwasher or washing machine
look in the mirror and give yourself a compliment (on anything! not necessarily your looks)
things to do in a 15 minute break
do the dishes
do 15 minutes of yoga
make a snack and enjoy it without distractions
call a friend or family member and ask how they’re doing
edit and post studyspo pictures (and then get straight off instagram or tumblr!)
go for a quick walk outside
if your computer needs rebooting, do that too
check what ingredients you have and make a plan for tonight’s or tomorrow’s dinner
clean the toilet
meditate
check your email, respond to at least one (if responses are needed); delete spam
write in your journal or diary
wipe the mirrors in your home

some study tips
find the best time for studying
sleep is a very important part in our lives but it is much easier to study at night for some people while others prefer studyind at afternoon. just find the right time and study. as for me, i study more productively at night, so i usually take a nap for two hours, then visit my extra lessons at evenings amd after all that i begin studying. usually i go t bed at around 2-4 am but remember that you need to get enough sleep!
do not compare yourself with others
i learn german now from the very beginning and whem i’m reading that someone has finished the whole grammar book or duolingo tree in like 1 month i don’t say that i don’t work hard enough. i do. i work as hard as i can and it doesn’t matter that i can learn only 5 words per day while others learn 10 words every day. we all are different and if you can’t do anything as fast as someone does, don’t be blame yourself.
clean up your desk
i’m that type of students who don’t care about work space but i find it much easier to study when i don’t have any extra things around me.
do shemes
when i’m studying history, geography, or german, i use shemes. when you are doing them, you can remember the part of information, and after you do them, you will learn new stuff much more fast. just try it! also, it is related to flashcards, i don’t use them very often, but they helped me to learn some chemistry info.
use duolingo app only for practicing
if you use duolingo, please use their website! you can find grammar notes there and you have to type words yourself so you can remember them very fast. i’ve learned it from my personal experience (thanks german)
make studying nice
as for me, i don’t like histore but i have to study it at school. i take nice notes at home so i like doing that and i study history! just find your own way. for example, ask questions ans try to answer or find the answer online or in books. try studying it with friends or someone else and you may like it!
i hope it was useful ;)

If you're not scared right now about losing net neutrality; You should be. Study up folks, or 2018 is going to fucking suck.
This isn’t my type of post but Net Neutrality is so important.
Forget your page’s aesthetic, share this with everyone you know. Without Net Neutrality, the internet itself would change.
Companies would be able to charge websites if they want them to load faster than others on your computer. This means that they would purposefully bottleneck speeds on every website that doesn’t have the funding to pay for it faster speed. There’s NO reason for this. Are you a small business with a website and can’t afford to pay enough to get faster speeds? Too bad. Are you someone with a personal blog? Slow page loading. Do you want to view a website written by a nonprofit organization for your school project? You’ll have to wait until the page loads because, since they’re nonprofit, they can’t afford to pay enough to cable companies so that their page loads faster.
An alternative to this would be having to pay for faster internet. Internet service should be priced by usage, not speed. For home internet, unlimited use isn’t all that expensive so it’s really common. You wouldn’t want to pay extra for more speed.
This would possibly affect the way that the internet works on other devices such as your phone, gaming system, laptop, tablet, etc.
We NEED Net Neutrality.
If a company doesn’t agree with a specific website, they could purposefully limit traffic to their site. This would be censorship, something that nobody likes.
There are many other reason as to why you should protect Net Neutrality.
This is an issue whether you’re a Republican, Democrat, Left-wing, Right-wing, young, old, male, female, rich, poor, etc.
EVERYONE SHOULD ADVOCATE FOR NET NEUTRALITY.

I'm in Public Speaking this semester this is so helpful
tips for public speaking
take a deep breath
it’ll be over before you know it
pretend like you’re obama (it’ll help you talk slower)
stand up straight
in a class setting, people don’t typically pay attention anyways so it’s not like your classmates are watching your every move. they don’t care.
don’t lock your knees
bring up a note card with important topics or quotes
make eye contact if you can
or look at people’s hair. it’ll make it seem like you’re making eye contact, but it’ll be less awkward
don’t memorize your entire speech. instead, memorize a couple bullet points of topics you need to hit
project your voice as if you’re speaking to someone sitting in the back of the room
talk with your hands to help you feel more warm and welcoming
don’t put your hands in your pockets
walk around a bit, but let it come organically. don’t force it.
don’t bounce one leg the whole time, it’s distracting
spit out your gum
smile
don’t eat a big meal prior
if you have to present for a certain number of minutes, have a friend sit in the back of the room and hold up finger signs for how many minutes you’ve been up there
don’t wear loud jewelry
practice your presentation/speech to a friend or family member who is unfamiliar with the material. if they don’t understand your presentation or don’t follow, you need to be more detailed
stick to the built-in themes on power point. yes, colors are pretty, but some color combos can be hard to read, and you won’t know it until it’s up on a big screen/projector.
put pictures in your power point. they’re more entertaining to look at than a paragraph of text.
speak with formal language. stay away from curse words and slang.
remember that everyone in your class is going through the same stress.
if you absolutely cannot handle the idea of public speaking, talk to your teacher and see if it’s okay for you to do your presentation after class.
it’ll be okay.
you got this.

Four rules for a disciplined life
(Credit to reddit user ryans01).
No zero days. ‘What’s a zero day? A zero day is when you don’t do a single fucking thing towards whatever dream or goal or want or whatever that you got going on. No more zeros. I’m not saying you gotta bust an essay out everyday, that’s not the point. The point I’m trying to make is that you have to make yourself, promise yourself, that the new SYSTEM you live in is a NON-ZERO system. Didn’t do anything all fucking day and it’s 11:58 PM? Write one sentence. One pushup. Read one page of that chapter. One. Because one is non zero.’
Be grateful to the three yous. ‘There’s the past you, the present you, and the future you. If you wanna love someone and have someone love you back, you gotta learn to love yourself, and the 3 you’s are the key. Be GRATEFUL to the past you for the positive things you’ve done. And do favours for the future you like you would for your best bro.’
Forgive yourself. ‘Maybe you got all the know-how, money, ability, strength and talent to do whatever is you wanna do. But lets say you still didn’t do it. Now you’re giving yourself shit for not doing what you need to, to be who you want to. Heads up champion, being disappointed in yourself causes you to be less productive. Tried your best to have a nonzero day yesterday and it failed? So what. I forgive you, previous self. I forgive you. But today? Today is a nonzero masterpiece to the best of my ability for future self. This one’s for you, future homes. Forgiveness man, use it. I forgive you. Say it out loud.’
Exercise and books. ‘Pretty standard advice but when you exercise daily you actually get smarter. When you exercise you get high from endorphins (thanks body). When you exercise you clear your mind. When you exercise you are doing your future self a huge favour. Exercise is a leg on a three legged stool. Feel me? As for books, almost every fucking thing we’ve all ever thought of, or felt, or gone through, or wanted, or wanted to know how to do, or whatever, has been figured out by someone else. Get some books.’

Registration 101
If you’re in college like me, registration can be a source of stress and confusion. Last year, since I was an incoming freshman, I had upperclassmen guide me through the process but this semester, I had to figure it out on my own. Soooo, I thought I’d write a little guide for making sure that registration will be stress-free!
First and foremost, check your registration date/time!
1. Check your advisement report/major program.
Usually, you can find this online on your campus portal. Mine laid out all of the requirements and classes I needed to take. It helped me to cross off the classes I had already taken and the classes that I didn’t meet the requirements for. Some have prerequisites (classes you have to pass before the next), corequisites (classes you have to take at the same time as the next), or standing requirements (you have to be in sophomore, junior, or senior standing to take them). When everything is crossed off, you’re left with your options. It might also be nice if you’re a freshman to create a four-year plan and check with your advisor so you only have to do the hard part once.
2. Write/draw a timetable of the schedule you create.
Find your registration catalog on your college’s website and search for the classes you chose. Then plot out when all of your classes occur. I found that this helps you visualize your classes so you don’t schedule two at the same times or days. Assign each class a color so you can tell the difference between those that are close together. You can also cut out pieces with the names of classes and move them around based on what sections you choose. I included the subject, catalog number, section number, building/room, and professor.
3. Have options and backups.
Depending on your class standing, you might have the first shot at classes or the last. It’s always best to have a backup plan. Make at least one backup schedule and a list of all the sections that can fit in each time period in case you don’t get a seat in your first-choice classes.
4. Keep location, professors, and difficulty in mind.
If at all possible, try to avoid classes that require you to sprint across campus in between- not fun. A lot of my classes are in the same building because of my major, so I scheduled them all next to each other so I didn’t have to keep coming back to the same spot all day. If you’re an undeclared major, stay away from odd 30min/1hr gaps in between classes so you don’t need to run from your dorm to class 3-odd times a day. BUT REMEMBER LUNCH!!!! (I have this problem this semester- I need to eat in a recliner in my building in between classes (sometimes it took me 2 passing times to finish lunch!) No food = no concentration.
I encourage you to research your profs- but don’t take online reviews too seriously. Usually, people only write reviews when they have really good or really bad experiences. With the average prof, you’re gonna get a mix of both. Try asking around with upperclassmen that have already taken the course instead. If the class seems too difficult or has a lot of required reading, don’t be afraid to pass it up, especially if you already have a rigorous schedule. Don’t overwork yourself- you’ll regret it later. It’s the same with the opposite. If you have a lot of really easy classes or very few classes in general like I do this semester, you’ll find it just as hard to get things done as if you took too much. There’s a fine line between overworking, balancing your time, and overestimating your free time and never studying. Trust me, I know from experience.
5. Double-triple-quadruple check with your advisor!!!!
This is probably the most important. Even if you have a perfect schedule, you could still be off-track in your program. It’s very easy to miss that one little financial literacy course you need or graduation or even a giant capstone major class if you’re surrounded by information. Yesterday, I didn’t look closely enough at section numbers and mixed up 2 classes that ended up clashing with each other. It took my advisor about 20 minutes to completely redesign the schedule that took me 3 hours to curate. They know what they’re doing, it’s their job.
6. Be prepared when the time comes.
Once you have your schedule, I strongly suggest putting all of your classes in the shopping cart/queue. Check back every couple of days to make sure that there’s still room in the sections you chose. If not, sub out a backup class. That makes it a lot easier and helps registration go more smoothly so you won’t click enter and realize all the classes are full. Sit down and puppydog your computer starting 10 minutes before your registration time, refresh, and click enter exactly when it begins. I’m always a bit paranoid, but Apple computers have the option to set your clock to the second hand so you can be sure of how much time you have. This year, I’m pretty sure I zoned out for a bit at 7:58 and looked back to see it was 8:01, and that minute counts!
I hoped this helped you out! Send me an ask if you have a question, and I’d be happy to answer it for you! Keep in mind that I am only a freshman, and my knowledge only reaches so far….
