🙏 PLEASE MR. MUSK
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
@ elon musk why can’t you do something that’s actually useful to society like giving Netflix a big chunk of money to renew Lockwood and Co.???

This is might be extremely niche or maybe not, I'm not sure, but there's a story called "monkeys for sale" or "I like monkeys" (depending on where you read it) and it is, to this date, the funniest thing I have ever read.
I first read it with my friends at girls camp, and years later it still makes me laugh super hard.

This is cannon btw
Story idea:
Two schoolkids who are best friends get annoyed about everyone assuming that they're dating just because one of them is a boy and the other one is a girl. Then it occurs to them that both of them are being raised by a single parent, so if they managed to introduce their parents to each other and they get together, that would make them step-siblings, so every time someone asked if they're together together, they could just go "eww wtf that's my brother/sister."
So they start making elaborate plans on how to get their parents to date each other. At no point does it cross either of their minds that they could have just lied about being cousins or something.

Amazingly put, the marketization of the hunger games is in itself proving her point.
Not to mention the fact she didn't want age accurate casting because she didn't want too many kids in a corrupt Hollywood setting, and the cast was still sexualized and assaulted.
We aren't the capitol, but we aren't not the capitol.
suzanne collins is such a genius... the cultural phenomenon of her series leading to the hanging tree house remixes, mockingjay being milked for two (bad) movies, the capitol-inspired makeup palettes, the halloween costumes, the explosion of the market for dystopia, the butchering of her characters and removal of disabilities, disfiguration, and racial tension + representation to sell more tickets, the extra gale scenes to fuel discourse, and the audience showing up to cinemas to watch what was pretty honestly marketed to them (the jacob vs edwardification of the symbolic love story and also to watch children fight to the death) it's just so ridiculously ironic i would say you can't write this shit, but she did write about it... in The Hunger Games published 2008

We don't talk about group B enough. If there's ever a fourth maze runner movie I can only pray it's about group B.
In the meantime... Moodboard!
