How to Pack Everything Into a Carry On
How to Pack Everything Into a Carry On
As I mentioned in my Europe recap blog post (here) I used a 40L backpack to carry around all my stuff for the summer, similar to this one here.  After doing a bunch of research and getting opinions from literally everyone about what size backpack to get, I finally decided on the 40L size.  That size ended up being the ideal size for a carry on and I never had to pay any extra luggage fees for the…

3 Days in Munich Germany
3 Days in Munich Germany
I departed Florence early that morning on a bus on the way to the Florence airport.  I arrived too early, as usual. But eventually caught my flight from Florence to Munich.  Once I got to Munich I  hopped on the S-Bahn (train) from the airport to the city center.  From the train station, my hostel was maybe a 2 block walk away.  It was incredibly convenient to be so close to the train station.  I…

Dijon Quinoa and Vegetable Salad
Dijon Quinoa and Vegetable Salad
I used to eat oatmeal every day for lunch but I go through phases of just being so sick of oatmeal, and that time is now.  I wanted something refreshing, filled with veggies as well as a good source of protein.  So I came up with this delicious quinoa salad with a dijon vinaigrette.  It’s perfect for those hot summer days, and easy to make a large batch of it for the entire week! This saladis…

Canals of Venice Italy
Canals of Venice Italy
A couple days before I left for my trip to Europe I decided to add Venice to my list of places I was going. I only had time to visit one extra spot and the debate between Cinque Terre Cinque Terre will have to be my next trip!  Have any of you been? I’ll take all your suggestions.
I departed the Florence train station bright and early, and was on my way.  A quick 2 hour train ride (or nap, since…

Traveling through Pisa and Florence
Traveling through Pisa and Florence
I departed Rome at about 5am for Pisa. Someone remind me next time I travel to not book a train ride that early.  I love waking up early,  but as I said in my Rome recap, I went out with my hostel nearly every night, so I was a bit exhausted. Naturally, I slept the entire train ride to Pisa.
The leaning tower is about a mile or so walk from the train station, nothing horrible. I got there right…

5 Beautiful Days in Historic Rome
5 Beautiful Days in Historic Rome
Ah, beautiful Rome! I departed Paris at approximately 9:00pm. A quick 1.5 hour flight, and I finally arrived in Rome! Checked into my hostel and passed out for the night. I stayed at the Mosaic Hostel a little outside of the city center and a quick walk to the train station. The hostel was nice, clean, the staff was friendly and I met so many cool people staying there!  I got minimal sleep while…

3 Days Exploring Paris
3 Days Exploring Paris
London was an absolute blast! I was able to explore so much and meet some really cool people! But all great things must come to an end.  And next up was Paris! I caught my Eurostartrain from the station at around 5:30am.  I think it takes about 3 hours from Paris to London, hard to remember as I passed out nearly immediately. There’s just something about trains that makes it incredibly easy to…

First Stop, London!
Remember when I posted this New Years resolution post and mentioned how I wanted to travel a lot more this year.   Well here we are, now 8 months later. 8 months ago I booked my flight to London slightly on a whim, unsure of exactly where I wanted to travel to.  Over the next 7 months I researched and narrowed it down to which countries, and cities I wanted to see and how much time I would like…

Crispy Baked Honey Mustard Tilapia
Crispy Baked Honey Mustard Tilapia
Tilapia is my go to fish and my protein of choice at dinner time. It’s so light but jam packed with lean protein and doesn’t have the “fishy” taste like other fishes. But having it baked with nothing on it, gets old really fast. It’s time to spice things up and a bit of crunch to your tilapia!
Ingredients:
2 Tilapia fillets
1/2 Cup Panko bread crumbs
1 Tablespoon dijon mustard
1 Tablespoon…

Beautiful Sunny Day in Manhattan Beach
Beautiful Sunny Day in Manhattan Beach
If you follow my Instagram stories, it will be no surprise to you that I am obsessed with the beach.  Maybe it is because I have had only lake “beaches” my whole life, but boy is it relaxing.  My favorite is to go at sunset or grab a coffee early in the morning and just sit and listen to the waves crash on shore.  I have done my fair share of beach exploring since I have been in LA, but I always…

Baked Avocado Fries With Sriracha Aioli
Since moving to California avocados have become part of my daily routine. My go to weekend breakfastis avocado toast topped with an egg. Happy Summer! These summer months are some of my favorites. I love the warm weather and all the delicious foods the summer brings. And one of my favorites has to be fresh citrus, including limes! They are simply perfect for every occasion. Whether it’s to add a nice citrus to your salad dressing, add some flavor to your water or my personal favorite, to add a little something to your gin and…
