Recently, I met Keva from South Africa. She studies psychology and claims to be most educated person in her community and the town she hails from. She describes how beautiful her hometown and neighbouring towns are, so peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and malls and shopping centers. She misses waking up to the beautiful sounds of humming birds, spectacular views, impressive mountain waterfalls and endless skies. Her family did not approve of her to studying further beyond schooling. But she wanted to study, travel the world, and eventually return to her country, have a family of her own, and practise her profession. Photo: Taken during my visit to South Africa. She decided to take him out for dinner. He agreed and picked the place while she chose the time. She wore a beautiful skirt, let her hair lose, and walked with confidence. He leads her to a small table inside the restaurant. A late hour for dinner, most of the tables are empty. He pulls out her chair. She sits. He sits across from her. The only light is from a few well placed candles. Few minutes later, a waiter approaches and, without saying a word, pours them wine and leaves the bottle. He has ordered for them in advance. He watches as she sips the wine. She notices. Blushes. A shy smile slips out. He loves watching her. They lock eyes across the table. They continue to blush at each other. Then comes the first course of food. He watches her as she eats. Calmly bringing each morsel to her lips. With her expressive eyes she gazes at him over her glass as she sips her wine. Then they smile at each other. The dinner plates arrive. They share each others meals. His rich and heavy. Hers lighter, bold. They eat slowly but heartily. Sipping wine throughout. He orders a dessert with a single spoon and feeds her. She smiles quietly and enjoys the moment. Then the music changes. He takes her hand and asks to dance with him. Then they hold hands and dance to the rhythm slowly. Then they sit down and rest. Shot from a ferry ⛴ that I went on from #southampton for a couple of hours.. It was a scary journey may be because I have sea sickness, and can be scared of heights. It was a windy day and there was mild showers too. At one point things inside the ferry from one corner to the other. At that very moment, only the scenes from Titanic came to my mind. And I asked myself why on earth did I take this journey. But, that was an experience. And shooting this photo despite the winds and showers was challenging. Since it was windy and dark, I could barely notice these keelboats and multihulls or catamarans but as skies got a little clear, I took my @tampon india 70-300 mm lens and fixed it on my @canonuk #550d to shoot. At one point, I even lost balance and fell down. Some of the ferry staffs even requested us to come inside the café and not stand/sit outside as it is unsafe. Let evening was like this. Once I entered the restaurant cum store and sat at a table, Sandeep, the waiter came and smiled the moment he saw me. If you have been reading my Instagram posts, you’ll know who Sandeep is. Well, long story short, we had a terrible service at the beginning during our last visit but went on to be a bit smooth towards the end. So the moment he smiled it looked like his mind voice was telling “omg same customer today and I hope hell doesn’t break lose” haha... And gladly our experience was smooth and awesome this time. He went out of his way to even help on a couple of things. So live in the moment, don’t fear, don’t have a grudge, be good to people as what goes around comes around. Things can get nasty only when a person is not willing to change and if his/her attitude continues to stink. Well, that clearly is a personality issue, isn’t it?
