I noticed a renewed interest in this post. I originally posted this when I was still in undergrad and found these helpful. Since that time some of these sites have either become defunct or the domains have been taken over by spam and malware. There is a need for new links. If you find them, post them.

hi! kou here (Ā“ļ½”ā¢ įµ ā¢ļ½”`) itās beenā¦ who knows, 2 years? itās wild, i totally forgot the email to this account and freaked out for an hour hahah. i was on pinterest and chanced upon my own post and was like, wow! forgot i did that!Ā
iām not sure if anyone following me is even active ;-; nevertheless!! after all the strange events iāve been through in the past year, iāve decided to start posting againĀ (ą¹Ėį“Ė)ļ»Ā
if youāre still around and,,, remember me (lol) i hope youāll support me in the following posts to come, promise theyāll be better than beforeĀ āĀ
if youād like, please send me messages about how youāve been, iād love to chat with anyone who still uses tumblr ^^Ā
Tumblr may be kind of dead, but the people that are on here definitely make a good community! Welcome!!
Hello!
So, it seems like tumblr is kinda dead rn, which is disappointing :(
Nevertheless! Iāve decided to make a blog to document my A Levels, as Iām desperately struggling for motivation ahahaā¦
As of September, Iāll be in year 13 (my final year of school!), which is actually terrifying, so I really do need to get my arse in gear and actually try to get decent grades
The subjects I take are history, French, and law, which I suppose is a more uncommon combination of subjects for a study blog. I only ever seem to see STEM subjects talked about on here and the GYG forum on TSR :(
If anyone happens to see this who is currently doing any a levels or has finished them, please feel free to message me etc, itād be nice to have people to chat to!
Iāve finally gotten around to working on my capstone project. Iām probably going to be writing about bilingualism and its effect on the prefrontal cortex and cognitive function!Ā
I went to a metaphysical shop for the first time and bought 2 crystals (selenite and opalite) that I was instantly drawn to when I went into the shop! I also tried timeboxing yesterday to give more (and very necessary) structure into my routine that I can actually start getting my work done. The brown paper came from the bag that the crystals were in!
24th July - What is your favorite vacation memory?
that feeling when you finally come home and you think to yourself "home sweet home"
25th July - What was is your favourite event or day in the summer? Ā Are you a āsummer personā or do you prefer it when it is colder?
I like when the weather is a little colder, like during the fall time where it's cool but not cold. As for my favorite day in the summer it's the last day of school :)
26th July - What is your typical daily routine in the summer?
It depends, I usually have a similat schedule as school in terms of waking up early and going to work, and then coming home to eat and relax. This year bc of corona my schedule has kind of gone out of whack. I just do anything whenever I feel like it.
27th July - Do you stay indoors or outdoors more in the summer?
I stay as much as I can indoors. It's too hot in the summer to go out most of the time.
28th July - How do you stay motivated to study during the summer?
A lot of it is setting deadlines for myself and using a reward system. "If I can get this done, then I'll binge watch the next season of this show"
29th July - Have you done or are you planning to do any activities (such as work experience, summer schools or watching lectures) other than normal work during the summer?
I've mentioned this already but I'm currently writing my CAPSTONE project for a neuroscience course! Very exciting, lots of work but I think it'll be worth it.
Itās being reported that Muji uses cotton produced by Uyghur Muslims in Chinese concentration and labor camps, specifically in Xinjiang. Obviously, the atrocities being done to the Uyghur Muslims are horrific, and a company profiting off of said atrocities is disgusting.
I know Muji is wildly popular on studyblr, but Iām asking you to think about real humans being forced into labor camps. As an average citizen, we only have two ways of imposing our power: by voting and by being deliberate with our money. Do not give Muji your money.
Do not support Muji. Do not support concentration camps. Do not support the violation of civil rights. Stay aware, read the news, and be a critical consumer.

15th July - Do you have a specific goal for this summer?
I tend to avoid the concept of goals and rephrase my mindset to reflect this question: "Was this summer meaningful?" If I have even just one thing that I got out of the summer, then I've succeeded in a way.
I am expecting to write a literary review paper for the neuroscience course, post content on my social medias (especially a youtube video), and mentally prepare for freshman year of college.
I imagine some takeaways from this summer are a couple of Youtube videos, 2 months worth of revitalizing my Chinese, and many many many posts on my Instagram (@prooductivity) and Tumblr :)

14th July - Have your plans changed at all because of the pandemic?
Because of the pandemic, my plans and the logistics of my stay at Cornell are vague. I'm not sure when pre-enrollment begins, when dorm assignments come out, etc. A lot of things are stuck in processing. Though I did find a roommate and we still chat!
Conversely, I've found a lot of time to pursue all the hobbies I ever wanted to do. I had a brief moment where I wanted to abandon bullet journaling altogether, but then in beginning of July, I realized that I actually really missed it. I've also dabbled in embroidery, and most of my free time is spent practicing with my tarot deck and researching on the side. (If you're curious, I have the classic Rider-Waite Tarot deck!)
I've also spent more of my time for resume builders like online volunteer opportunities and positions.
As embarrassing as it is to admit, I don't really know how to cook. But I made my very own avocado toast with sunny side eggs the other day, so I think I'm heading in the right direction? If you have beginner cooking recipes I can try out, don't hesitate to enlighten me :))

July 13th - Ā What are your plans for this summer?
peep the bokutoĀ ādo it for him memeā because please he is most preciousĀ
I have a lot of plans that ended up compounding on top of one another. Here are some to list a few:
I'm starting my very own studyblr, studygram, and a Youtube Channel! Which means I;m learning how to edit pictures and videos... the whole shbang
I'm enrolled in an international neuroscience course provided by the IYNA, the International Youth Neuroscience Association. You can check them out here: https://youthneuro.org/ I'm also a MYELIN Content Creator so I'm part of a team responsible for writing material for a free neuroscience curriculum. More on this later!
My boss asked me if I can start writing making sample questions for his tutoring place. And I also will probably have to tutor some students virtually.
In the meantime, I'm getting ready for a completely new chapter of my life: college life at Cornell University. I'm moving on campus in late August, not to mention figuring out the classes I want to take, what I want to major in... Quarantine has really given me time to deliberate my life choices...
Also Iāve decided to write all my journal entries in Chinese starting today!
This is the first day of theĀ summer studying challenge from @myhoneststudyblrĀ
I was put into Chinese school in 2nd grade, and I didnāt stop going to school until 11th grade when I finally dropped out. It was exhausting and stressful. I constantly felt guilty for not excelling in my own familyās language and for not being able to speak Mandarin all too well or to read at a nativeās fluency.
Now that it has been almost 2 years since Iāve studied Chinese, Iāve decided to go through each of these textbooks lesson by lesson, and hopefully at the same time build up the confidence to speak my mother tongue again.
Seeing this post really inspired me to let go of the bad experiences Iāve had with Chinese!!!! So thank you so much :)))
š¼how to restart learning a languageš¼
iāve recently gone through a language break, taking 5 months out to reassess my future. i really want to get back to learning Japanese, so here are my tips for restarting that language you might have been neglecting!
reassess your goals. its likely that if youāve taken an extended break, your life has changed a little and there may be some new priorities taking over. reassess what you want to get out of restarting your language journey so itās easier to plan around your day
make small targets that can be reached easily. for a short while, youāll have to work hard to get your head back into the swing of learning a language. making small goals can really up your productivity because you wont be discouraged by big expectations at first!
slowly immerse yourself. immersion is widely known as a good supplement to your language learning. while youāre in the early stages of relearning a language, itās really fun to start rewatching that subbed anime you lost track of, or listen to that spanish band you loved so much. it will help your brain get back āintoā the language, and youāll have fun along the way!
revisit your notebooks. if youāre anything like me, you have a ton of notebooks and stacks of random note paper lying around untouched since you dropped out of your language. do your best to collect them up, sort through the useful stuff and then, get a blank notebook and rewrite all of your notes. your brain wont have forgotten everything but starting a new notebook will give you incentive to learn, as well as solidifying the information you already learnt!
take it slow. your brain is a muscle that needs exercising. if you havent been using your language brain for a while, donāt try and run a marathon without training first! thereās no rush. your journey is yours, and yours alone. take it as slow as you need to to start learning your language again and get back into the studying swing of things
š¼good luck on revisiting your language journey!š¼

Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
