Fun story: This week I learned from a younger student in my grad program that even 2 years out my last name is used as a verb to describe a 5th year getting tipsy and being a brutally honest cynic that bursts the bubbles of all the bright-eyed, enthusiastic first years with the impending soul-crushing that is grad school.

I’m ok with this legacy. 😈

This is one of the mantras my grad school friends and I would repeat over and over as we considered whether to measure one more endpoint, searched for the perfect reference, or agonized over making the perfect data visualization. At some point, you just have to call it good enough for the thesis. What is your grad school mantra?
