Sally Williams (and how her role comes into play in the forest)

first and foremost, sally is a ghost, she doesnt tangibly exist and beings on the physicalrealm cannot see her.

she is not malicious, shes more of a morally dubious trickster ghost.

After a human dies and only their spirit remains, they dont feel emotions the same way humanoid beings do. Sally feels less, and because of that she is more of a sitting duck.

Sometimes if she is haunting the mansion she may attempt to communicate to newly arrived pastas, through shutting doors or even putting her hand on their necks for a moment.

Sally does not hold any pasta or proxy in her favor, she dislikes jeff and toby the most.

she spends most of her time outside of the mansion, usually ocupying a nice patch of gass or haunting a small cabin.

if you feel a rush of cold wind in unusual spaces (ex: cabins with no windows and closed doors) it is sally, crying.

The woods are more of a limbo state for her and other lingering ghosts.

Creeps acknolwedge her existence, but dont engage with her in any form except for an occasional snide remark.

gonna touch on the point you made on the actual horror aspect which i totally agree with.

horror in modern creeps is veeerrryyy limited, its def a ton more character driven now which has its strengths, but i do kinda find it sad that creepypastas, internet horror stories aren't even scary now...

Why There Aren't Any New Popular Creeps

I've been thinking about how theres no new pastas that are getting wildly popular (like clockwork status popular)

of course you have a easy cop out answer, being that creepypasta just isnt as popular as it was in the 2010s, which yes is true and definetly contributes to the no new popular pastas. I think its only one of the reasons.

Looking at modern pastas, i've noticed a trend of making them too human and more realistic, which reflects the fandoms growing maturity. But it also leads to new pastas coming off as too similar even if they have unique stories.

just look at jeff. His story is so very shitty, but his design is iconic.

Theres also another extreme of the spectrum which is making their designs too out there. This was more common in the early fandom. Those 'too out there pastas' from the early fandom where the ones that never got popular.

Anyways just my thoughts. No hate to creaters that do follow this pattern.

years back he was in everything man. The 7 minutes in heaven quizzes on quotev, the fanart, the fanfics.

but now i hardly see him around. I am certain it has to do with the maturing fandom and the fact that his design is based off of link from majoras mask (who is 12 btw...)

Im not complaining if hes gone from the x reader fanfics n all. But i hope this fandom is still able to preserve little bud.

Yes but it was before the more severe abuse kicked in after all the medical debt and alcoholism

Frank was always military strict(having been raised by a veteran and being in the military himself) and that would include physical punishments such as spankings or smacks to the back of the head etc etc. But he was still a father, playing catch with Toby, carrying him on his shoulders, bringing home soda and candy.

Eventually it turned into outright beatings with absolutely 0 fatherly behavior. The love went away but Toby still sought his dads approval and validation - probably until puberty hit around 13, in which Toby completely resented his father and wanted nothing to do with him, even if frank was sober for months and trying to “do better” . Only to relapse and continue with the abuse

Creepypasta worldbuilding + Songs to match

-Some pastas and creatures in the forest revere slenderman and its proxies (Kate, Toby, Eyeless Jack, Rouge). They view proxies in a similar fashion to how catholics view the saints

-The hierarchy would be: Slenderman > Proxies > Pastas > Minor pastas (ex: Sally, BEN, less competant pastas in the physical department) > Creatures in the forest (ex: the rake)

-On the outskirts of the forest there are structures to keep civilians out if they get too close. Structures such as "Gods mouth" are present as a security feature. Heavy storms are also common, meant to stagger the treversal of any being from getting in, or leaving.
