I feel like Halloween in the wasteland still exists, partly just because its a very old tradition and I doubt holidays would go extinct because humans like to make excuses for partying, especially when things are bleak. But I also feel like Halloween is partly mythologized due to its proximity to the bombs dropping. You see Halloween decorations all over Boston in fo4, and there are plenty of pre war ghouls left in the wasteland who can recall the date with clarity even 200 years after the fact.
I wanna see settlements with Jack o lanterns made with gourds so big you could stand inside them. I wanna see people in costumes. I wanna see what kind of traditions have arisen now that trick or treating is a tradition that's probably died out. I want to hear about the new ghost stories and folk tales that have popped up in the last 200 years.
Halloween is about the spirits of the dead roaming the earth, but in a way its also about the spirit of the old world itself haunting the survivors.
