being siblings with the itoshi siblings? basically silly little stuff, and a part where they find out we have a crush on isagi because we were just giggling and blushing while rewatching the u20 final goal clip, and rin has the crash out of the century?
cuuuute tysm for the req!!
Tumblr media
silly little crush
gn!itoshi sibling <3 isagi yoichi. crack, platonic, ooc(?) isagi is only mentioned
Tumblr media
you were sitting in your bedroom, phone propped against a tower of pillows, feet swinging in the air as you watched replays of the blue lock u20 match. more specifically, the isagi yoichi highlight reels.
all sorts of flutters tickled your stomach as giggles bubbled up and filled your room, blush on your cheeks as you watched him celebrate scoring the final goal. it was adorable and admirable and hot at all once, and you smiled when the scene cut off at his teammates rushing him to cheer.
you were about to replay that specific part when your door was thrown open. you turned back, feet still in the air, and froze when you saw your brother rin in the doorway.
your brothers knew you were a hopeless romantic; someone who found love in people easily. while sae wasn’t as strict on who you could have a silly little crush on, rin made it clear that blue lock boys, especially isagi yoichi, were off limits…
… but you know what they say about wanting the things you can’t have, right?
your face flushed for a different reason when rin marched forward and snatched the device off your bed. “wh—hey!” you snapped, but rin shoved the phone into his back pocket and stared down at you with eyes so angry you couldn’t even laugh.
“laying on your stomach, watching isagi reels? i’m disgusted. truly. how are we related?”
you puffed your cheeks to match his indignation. “so, what? it’s just a crush. he’s cute!”
rin held a fist to his mouth, as if fighting the urge to puke. “cute? we’re talking about the same isagi, right? he looks like if someone stepped on a mealworm.”
you kicked your brother’s shin and snatched your phone from his pocket while he was distracted. running around him, you landed one last foot to the butt to knock him over while he was unbalanced, and sprinted down the stairs.
when rin’s footsteps sounded behind you, you screamed. turning into the kitchen, you found your eldest brother at the table with a glass of water and nearly cried in relief. you ran over and positioned sae between you and the doorway, where rin would appear at any moment. “sae! he’s gonna kill me!”
sae carefully placed his glass down and raised a brow at you. “huh?”
that’s when rin appeared, and you swore you could see the glowing red eyes and black smoke radiating off of him.
“look!” you screamed, pointing a finger at your demonic brother. he made a lunge for the phone, but sae intervened by reaching forward and grabbing rin’s ear between his fingers.
“ow, ow, ow,” rin repeated rather monotonously, and you laughed until sae had your ear next. “ow, ow! why me?!”
“you’re both being ridiculous,” sae complained as he dragged the two of you over to the couch. he flicked his wrists as he released you, and you tumbled into the cushions next to rin.
before you could run, sae clapped his hands. “what are you fighting about this time?”
you glanced over at rin, who was giving you the nastiest side-eye you’d seen from him in a while. huffing, you tossed your arms over your chest and sank into the cushions. “he caught me watching isagi reels.”
“and giggling, and blushing, and kicking their feet!” rin added. “i thought i was going to throw up! they called him…“ he gagged for dramatic effect, “… cute.”
you threw a pillow at him. it hit him square in the face, and you laughed so hard your stomach ached.
sighing, sae grabbed the pillow when rin swung back to smack you with it. “having stupid crushes is their thing. they’ll get over it in a few days.”
“i won’t! i really think this isagi guy is the love of my—“ you willingly shut up when sae gave you the look.
rin reached for the pillow, but gave up when sae threw it across the room. “it’s gross. we had a deal: no blue lock guys!”
“the heart wants what it wants!”
“your heart was crying for oreos and cheez-its yesterday! it is not reliable.”
you opened your mouth to argue, but ended up sinking further into the cushions instead. your mind drifted to the oreo ice cream cake you’d seen while grocery shopping the day before, and suddenly you had no recollection of what an isagi yoichi was.
sae read it all over your face. “okay, here’s the deal. we get snacks from the convenience store and watch a movie. deal?”
“i get to pick the movie,” rin grumbled as you drooled over the mental image of yourself eating oreo ice cream.
“whatever. deal. now come on, before it gets too dark.”

⠀the port was the very embodiment of chaos. the air felt thick, heavy with the scent of salt and sweat, mixed with the sharp metallic smell that brought the promise of another one of inazuma’s famous lightning storms. heavy clouds tainted the sky, like dark black and grey bruises on the sky’s blue skin.
⠀the shouting of orders and overlapping conversations mixed with the squeaky grind of pulleys and wooden crates slamming against the docks and ship decks. every sound felt like nails against a chalkboard as it hit your ears. it was all too loud, the atmosphere too harsh and far too overwhelming.
⠀all you wanted was to be home. to say you were exhausted would possibly be the understatement of the year. the fatigue felt like it had pierced you to your bones. you’d been in this place – this foreign and unforgiving place – for far too long now.
⠀you had come for diplomacy and trade – of both information and goods – in place of diluc ragnvindr, the current king of mondstadt. the trip that was only supposed to take a few days had stretched on to nearly a month, and the bright eyed wonder and whimsy of exploring a new place had long since faded away. all of the delays, the miscommunications, the mixed messages, it was absurd at this point; the infuriating incompetence of everybody involved in this so-called ‘expedition’.
⠀no … that wasn’t fair. you shouldn't be thinking like that. forcing yourself to swallow the ever growing bitterness, you reminded yourself that you were only tired. everybody involved in the planning of this trip truly had done their best, and it was nobody’s fault that things had gone so awry. these things happen sometimes – paperwork got misplaced, messengers didn’t arrive on time, elected officials didn’t bother to show up to important meetings – it was just best to remain calm and collected when such problems did arise. you knew that, but you just wanted to go home.
⠀pushing through the tight crowd of sweaty bodies you’d lost track of how many times you’ve called ‘excuse me’, to which very few people actually seemed to listen to. finally you broke through, pushing into a brief reprieve as the crowd thinned the closer you got to the ships lining the edges of the wooden docks.
⠀the old wooden boards creaked under your feet as you took a second to take in the space before you, the instructions you were given on how to find your ship playing over and over in your head. your ship home would be waiting five docks down from the nearest statue of the seven.
⠀they were vague at best and confusing at worst, but you were also told to just look for the flag that bore the windmill symbol that represented your home. which eventually you did find; an accomplishment that should have brought you some relief, even excitement.
⠀had it not been for the fact that you had found it nearly two miles away. the promise of home slowly reduced to a dot that shrunk smaller and smaller against the horizon.
⠀great. just great. a stomp of your foot was accompanied by a frustrated shout. an immature display perhaps, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to care anymore. why was something as simple as getting home becoming such a monumental feat !?
⠀you opened and closed your fists, taking some time to breathe, to collect and ground yourself before you looked around again.
⠀your eyes caught a man … no, this was a boy. no older than fifteen, perhaps sixteen at most, loading crates onto a nearby ship. his movements were practiced, fulfilling his task with a type of laborious repetition that made it seem like he’d been doing the same job for years. he moved with a sense of wholehearted energy, not exactly graceful – but definitely determined. as if he had something to prove by loading the ship. he was bright … reminding you just a bit of the sun.
⠀there was nothing inherently eye-catching about him, he was average height and an average build for a boy his age. yet at the same time, there was something about him that struck a curiosity within you. his hair was an ashy grey color, cut choppy and uneven, and dirty from sweat and the sea. his skin, lightly tanned and a bit sunburnt, was dappled with bruises, scrapes, and scars in all different stages of healing. and he had bright green eyes that seemed so full of life and were so intently focused on his task.
⠀he looked like he belonged here, like he was part of somebody’s crew. perhaps a deckhand. and compared to everybody else you could see around you, he seemed to be the most approachable. as if he were a beacon of possibility, and maybe even hope. perhaps he could bring you the good luck you so desperately needed.
⠀you made your way towards him, your steps quick as you carefully moved past loose ropes and various crates and barrels.
⠀“excuse me !” you called when you were just a few paces away. your voice was louder than you had intended, but it got his attention none-the-less.
⠀the boy paused in the middle of lifting another crate, and you noticed how he looked around as if to check if there was anybody else you could be calling to. when his eyes landed back onto you, he gave you a slightly sheepish smile – one that revealed a small gap between his two front teeth. it only added to the impression that he really was just a boy.
⠀and just then it struck you how strange it was to see somebody so young already so marked by life, by the sea. the scars that covered his body, and the wear in his hands. and you remembered that it wasn’t uncommon. he was the age that most boys were when they’re sent to work on the ships. but that was easy to forget when one wasn’t smiling so nervously at you.
⠀“excuse me,” you repeated once you had finally reached him, softening your tone now that the need to catch his attention was no longer there. “if you don’t mind me asking, are you part of this ship’s crew ?” you gestured to the vessel behind him, its sails were at half mast, loosely tied up and half shaded by the stormcloud in the distance.
⠀the boy gave you a quick and confident nod “sure am !” he said, dropping the crate he was holding with a thud. “why ? you lookin’ for someone ?”
⠀you shook your head “no, no one in particular,” you replied. you paused for a beat “i missed my ship home … do you know where you guys are headed next ?”
⠀the boy’s head tilted to the side, his eyes squinting a bit, as if the orders he received were replaying in his mind. “uhh … i think the captain said we’re headin’ back out to mondstadt” he paused before adding; “we’ve got some things on board to sell, i guess”
⠀your heart jumped in your chest. “oh that’s amazing !” you chimed, hope bubbling up in your voice before you could do anything about it “do you think it would be alright if i joined you ? just until you get to mondstadt — i can pay you, of course. i just really need this ride”
⠀taking a moment to look you over, something flickered across the young boy’s face – suspicion perhaps, or maybe just caution. but it passed quickly, and he gave you a small shrug joined by a wide grin, showing off that tooth gap once again.
⠀“sure ! i don’t see why it would be a problem. but let me ask the captain … just to be sure” he turned to make his way up onto the ship, a small bounce in his step before he turned around to face you again “um — what’s your name, by the way ?” he asked “in case the captain asks …”
⠀oh. that made sense. you called back, giving him your name to which he responded with a small nod.
⠀“cool ! i’m bennett” he introduced himself, his grin feeling like sunlight breaking through thick fog. after his introduction, he turned around again and disappeared onto the ship.
⠀bennett’s boots hit the salt-stained wood of the gangway in a steady rhythm, each thud made under his weight mixed with the creaking of the ship beneath him. though securely anchored, the vessel rocked back and forth with the ocean beneath it – like it was eager to break free, it was only now waiting for final checks and the approval of the captain.
⠀bennett made his way carefully across the deck, moving as carefully as he could though the haphazardly stacked crates, barrels, and the thick, tangled coils of ropes. every now and then a shout rang out that made bennett turn his head – orders being passed from crewmate to crewmate as they prepared the ship to be cast off.
⠀heading towards the stern, where shadows were longer and the chaos of the ship and inazuma’s port didn’t seem to reach, bennett found him.
⠀kaeya alberich stood half-leaning against the railing, flipping a gold coin from hand to hand, back and forth with an all too lazy precision. it was familiar to bennett – so familiar, in fact, he truly believed that kaeya didn't even realize he was doing it. just another habit of a man who had far too much practice in waiting.
⠀“captain !” bennett called out, lifting his arm to wave towards the captain.
⠀kaeya’s head turned lazily towards the voice, his uncovered eye catching a sliver of sunlight. it shimmered like polished blue glass – reflective, unreadable. almost eerie.
⠀“benny” he greeted, slipping the coin back into his coat pocket. “back already ?” he raised his wrist as if checking an imaginary watch. “don’t tell me — you dropped another crate overboard ?” the captain’s tone was light, teasing almost, as he pushed himself off the railing he was leaning against.
⠀bennett flushed, his cheeks puffing up with air “it was one time !” he quickly protested
⠀kaeya chuckled, the sound was low and amused. like a hum neatly wrapped up in velvet. “i’m only teasing. you’ve been doing well. at this rate, i might name you captain one day soon”
⠀it was a joke – obviously – bennett was nowhere near ready to captain a ship or a crew. but there was something in the kaeya’s voice that made bennett pause. a weight hidden beneath his jest – like he was foreshadowing something only he knew about – it was enough to make bennett furrow his brows before he could stop himself.
⠀then, kaeya was in front of him. bennett hadn’t even noticed him move, a gloved hand ruffled his hair, the gesture fond and familiar.
⠀“captain, there’s —”
⠀bennett’s attempt to report the situation was interrupted as kaeya grabbed his face, leaning down to inspect him with narrowed eyes.
⠀“you got sunburned again,” kaeya muttered, almost as if to himself. he clicked his tongue once, more disappointed than annoyed, before straightening himself up again. “we’ll get something for it in mondstadt”
⠀bennett blinked, raising his hand to his cheek. his skin was warm to the touch – to warm. painful. he hissed softly, he hadn’t even noticed he had been burned until now. but of course kaeya had. he shook it off, he had a job to do.
⠀“someone’s asking to catch a ride with us,” he finally reported “back to mondstadt, missed their ship.”
⠀kaeya raised an eyebrow, his eye flickering with interest. “is that so ?” he asked “and you told them …”
⠀“i came to you first !” bennett answered quickly “they don’t seem shady or anything. just … tired ? i dunno. like she’s had a real rough couple of days. she seemed real happy when i said we were heading to mondstadt.”
⠀kaeya’s lips twisted, not quite a smile, but close “she, huh ?” he repeated “a lady is asking to board our ship ?”
⠀bennett’s ears turned pink, though not from the sunburn that covered the rest of his face “yeah … she’s real pretty too” he muttered, almost too quiet to hear.
⠀that did it. kaeya’s head was thrown back in a laugh, before he clapped a hand on bennett’s back, nearly knocking the younger boy forward a step.
⠀“well, if that’s the case, i think i need to go and see this pretty lady for myself, hmm ?” he made a lazy gesture forwards, a silent cue for bennett to lead the way.
⠀though as the two of them crossed the deck together, bennett nearly had to jog to keep up with kaeya’s longer, effortless strides. as they approached the edge of the ship, kaeya’s steps slowed, his eyes sharpening.
⠀he saw you before you saw him.
⠀he watched you from the deck for a moment, taking in the way you rocked yourself back and forth, shifting your weight from the backs of your heels to your tiptoes. your eyes were curious and tired, slightly squinted as you looked up at his ship. there was a thin beam of light that broke through the thick quilt of clouds that covered the sky above, it shone right onto you. it made you seem like you were glowing … like there was some quiet omen, a divine spotlight from heaven itself casted onto you.
⠀oh, you caught his attention.
⠀something about the subtle tilt of your head, the way you studied the vessel before you, the way you stood, and rocked yourself with an absentminded rhythm, almost in tandem with the ship. it tugged at something in the captain’s heart, something unexpected. a faint flutter, light but definitely there. this was not the feeling he was used to having when he was around women – and he’d been around plenty of women before.
⠀this was different. quieter. he let himself feel it only for a second before shaking it off, hiding it away – from himself and anybody around him – before making his way down the gangway.
⠀his boots hardly made any sound.
⠀it wasn’t his footsteps that caught your attention, but rather the quiet creaking of the wood planks. you almost missed the sound completely. he moved in a way that was too careful, too deliberate for someone trying to announce themselves. you turned to face the noise, your breath catching just slightly as the man stepped off the ship.
⠀he moved with purpose, like the wind – confident and smooth. he seemed as if the sea answered to him personally. his coat flared with each step he took, catching in every brief gust of the salty breeze. his single uncovered eye was sharp, icy blue and almost unsettling, fixed on you as he made his descent. the other was covered by a sleek eyepatch, something that somehow made him look even more composed.
⠀you knew instantly that this was the captain.
⠀something about him – the aura he had and the way he carried himself – made you instinctively straighten up.
⠀“good afternoon,” he greeted, his voice was surprisingly smooth and warm compared to what you had expected from him. “i hear you need a ride ?”
⠀his tone didn’t care a single trace of judgement. he simply seemed amused – gentle, and teasing, and far too charming to be accidental. he stopped when he stood just a few paces in front of you. his gaze lingered, studying you, not leering, simply observing you with a scrutiny that made you feel exposed, despite you being fully clothed.
⠀you held your ground, keeping your posture, though your heart raced.
⠀kaeya’s face was blank, until his eyes landed on the leather bag that was worn diagonally across your body. the corner of his mouth tugged up, as a brief but telling flicker of recognition crossed his features. he knew the symbol embroidered into the leather – the symbol of mondstadt’s royal family.
⠀“kaeya alberich,” he said suddenly – so suddenly it took you a moment to process that it was his own name that he was saying. “captain of the vessel you see before you”
⠀he paused for a bit, before adding “and you are ?”
⠀you have him your name, stumbling just a bit despite your attempts to keep your voice steady through the sudden awareness of just how tired you were. your limbs ached, every single one of your nerves felt frayed and overstimulated by the long trip. you were unsure if you’d be able to hold this posture – but his presence, the superiority and elegance of it, made you want to.
⠀he repeated your name to himself, as if testing the way it felt on his tongue. “a lovely name” he mused, “fitting.”
⠀you were unsure what he had meant by that, but before you could ask, he went on.
⠀“bennett here told you were left behind – though i’m sure it was no fault of your own. of course.”
⠀he glazed briefly to the side, at the storm clouds that gathered offshore. his nose scrunched as he noted how much darker they were now, and how there seemed to be so many more than there were just a few moments ago. the air felt heavier, now eerily still. the storm was coming in much faster than he liked, it made him a bit uneasy, but he was well versed in not showing it.
⠀his gaze returned to you “i see no problem in you joining us, it’s only a one night trip, after all” he stated
⠀and without missing a single beat he added: “you’ll sleep in my cabin” it was so certain, leaving no room for any argument. more like an order than a suggestion.
⠀bennett – despite knowing better than to interrupt the captain – blurted out exactly what you had been thinking; “where will you sleep them ?”
⠀kaeya grinned, amused by the concern from the boy, “i think i can handle sleeping below deck for a single night.” he answered “you’ve got room in your hammock, don’t you, benny ?”
⠀bennett gave a quick nod “yes, sir”
⠀“then it’s settled !” kaeya said with a single clap of his hands, the sound of his gloves colliding oddly satisfying.
⠀“so … you’ll really take me along ?” you asked, a bit unsure
⠀kaeya gave you a smile, something softer, more genuine, though still edged with his ever-present charm. “of course ! i’m not usually one to leave someone stranded. especially not a lady as lovely as yourself”
⠀your face flushed at his comment, and you hoped he wouldn’t notice. he did, but said nothing about it.
⠀“you’ll have to follow a few rules, of course” he went on, his tone shifting to something a bit more serious. “no wandering the ship on your own, especially not below deck – but i highly doubt you’ll find the smell and heat down there very pleasant. keep to my cabin and the upper deck, and stay out from underfoot of my crew. if you behave yourself, i’m sure this trip will be nothing but smooth sailing. we’ll have you back home in no time”
⠀you nodded, exhaling a breath mixed with a laugh – half relieved, half amused. “understood”
⠀“perfect. then, welcome aboard” kaeya stepped to the side, welcoming you onto the ship with a subtly theatrical flourish. your steps were cautious as you made your way up the gangway. as you passed him, your shoulder accidentally brushed against kaeya’s coat.
⠀you could have sworn you felt the faintest shift. a hum – though not a sound, it was more like a feeling. a spark, perhaps electricity. though maybe it was just a shift in the air, or your exhaustion finally catching up to play tricks on you.
⠀“you know …” kaeya’s voice came from behind you, his voice lower, quieter this time “the sea always does have a funny way of giving you exactly what you need — even if you don’t know you’re looking for it.”
⠀you glanced back at him. his expression had changed – the amusement previously etched into his features was absent now. for a moment he seemed more thoughtful, almost somber, and then that moment was gone.
⠀kaeya moved towards you, placing his hand on the small of your back to guide you onto the ship with the same easy grace he’d moved with before. his touch was firm and gentle, a grounding pressure through your clothes.
⠀“well,” he said, “the tide waits for no one. let’s get this show on the road, shall we ?”

Tumblr media
— imagine you’re in a royalty-esque au, but as like,,,, the personal guard for crown prince!diluc, who sometimes tends to take the title of “personal” a little too seriously at times (which includes, but is most definitely not limited to, keeping you in close company, even when your presence is by no means mandatory). but in spite of his sometimes overbearing need for you to be there beside him, you don’t mind his nuanced insistence; after all, it’s your sworn duty to look out for and protect the future king of mondstadt, right?
being brought up as the future heir to the throne isn’t as romanticised as he’s read his people make it out to be. constantly living on edge, wondering if there’s an assassination attempt waiting for him at the turn of a corner, anticipating a poisoned beverage from an opposer… all of these things are never depicted, and the loneliness that he’s forced to accommodate to certainly isn’t mentioned either. so when you’re hand-picked by his father as his personal guard, he’s even more agitated. it’s the perfect way to get close and get rid of him, right? but contrary to his inner fears, you never did anything of the sort, you merely trained and tended to his needs as you were instructed to. he was still skeptical, though that all changed when an assassination attempt occurred on the night he was to turn eighteen. he didn’t know how you had arrived so quickly, but in that moment all he could focus on was how ethereal the moonlight trickling in through his window made you appear. and it was after that incident he began to open up to you more, and the true nature of his feelings began to bubble within.
but if there’s one thing diluc makes sure to show in front of you it’s the countless marriage proposals he rejects, even going as far as burning the letters in a way he prays gets his message to you across. but no matter how many times he does so, you always regard him in neutrality — as though him openly rejecting marital opportunities from foreign lands had nothing to do with you. is it so hard to believe he would choose your hand to delicately hold and kiss instead? the notion pains him greatly. do you not see the way he stares so longingly? so desperately? so hopelessly??
— but even that righteous motive of protecting your homeland and future ruler takes unprecedented swerves, what with the way second prince!kaeya always seems to appear in front of you, regardless of the task you’re in the middle of. sometimes you wonder whether he just lurks around the areas you tend to frequent within the palace grounds, as him not being sighted for a day is more of a rarity than you would like (though begrudgingly you can’t deny the way his presence brings you a peace of mind within the typically monotonous days, even if his constant teasing gradually becomes more and more genuine when they most definitely shouldn’t).
though his illegitimate birth status may have been swept under the rug from the larger part of the population, it was by no means a privy matter to the old nobles of the court. kaeya had faced countless scorn and disdain, and he had expected the same disgusted look from you when you first met. but you did nothing of the sort. you merely regarded him with his royal status and paid no heed to his unbefitting background, even when he knew damn well you’re aware of it. but you carried on, minding your own business, performing your knightly duties while he couldn’t help but be drawn closer, and closer, and closer. so close he couldn’t bear to back away. and thus he began memorising your most frequented spots, betting on the odds that would allow him to encounter and approach you in a way more natural than just summoning you out of the blue.
his feelings hit him deep in the gut, the realisation of his curiosity-turned-infatuation catching him like a deer in headlights. he knows it’s forbidden — that he should crush these fleeting feelings stemmed from the sheer indifference you displayed at his birth status. he knows he should spare himself the heartache early on, so why is he showing you his secret spot in the back of the gardens? why does he insistently take the time to prepare snacks that caters to your taste when he knows you have a particularly grueling training that afternoon? just why… why does his heart seem to only grow fonder for you as the days pass, no matter whether it’s spent with you or not? deep inside kaeya knows his heart will beat so lovingly for you and you only, even if you love another.
— royal guard commander!dainsleif who always assigns you to go on patrols with him when organising the groups, regardless of whether the high frequency of it all begins to draw suspicion from his subordinates, especially when he still persists even after you’ve been promoted to be the crown prince’s personal guard. sure, you respect the man — in fact, you very well look up to him! — and you don’t mind going on patrols with him, but you’re pretty sure you’re not the only “tolerable” knight in the royal guards… (his subordinates never voice the blatantly obvious reason aloud though; not even when they’re frozen in place at their commander’s uncharacteristically soft demeanour and honey-dripping gaze when in your presence, his usual blunt and nonchalant self nowhere to be seen. well, all but a close knight by the name halfdan, at least).

You rubbed your eyes. You were seeing things. Strange, sparkly things floating in the air around Solomon. They appeared to radiate out of him, causing you to stare and making his surroundings look dull in comparison.
He was just sorting books, leafing through them one at a time before placing them in one of five piles. The books were not dazzling. In fact, they were rather dusty and some were starting to fall apart. None of them had the same strange shimmer as Solomon. He practically had his own personal limelight. Your eyes narrowed. The rays didn't seem physical, perhaps it was a trick of the candlelight.
Solomon noticed the staring. The corners of his mouth turned up into a bemused smile. "See something you like?"
"Did you... do something?" you asked. It was hard to put into words exactly what was wrong.
The walking glowstick only grinned more. "You mean, with my hair or clothes?" He ran a hand through his hair, ruffling the side above his ear. A tiny wave of starlight flowed out like a swarm of fireflies and dissipated into the surrounding air. "I did try some new soap that Simeon recommended the other day. Funny enough, it markets itself as 'soap scented.'"
He was being way too casual about this.
"That's not it. Something is different." You shut your eyes really hard, then opened and closed them in rapid succession. The weird lights were still there, and still only on Solomon.
"Did you enchant yourself?" you blurted out in accusation.
"Is that what it looks like?" The sorcerer looked highly amused. It made the radiant glitter shine brighter in contrast to his seasoned old books.
"Yeah. You're all sparkly. You look like the love interest in a shoujo manga." When you closed your eyes, you could still see Solomon's afterimage.
"Is that how you see me? Well, I'm flattered."
You knew Solomon, and you knew him well. If this wasn't planned, he'd take it more seriously. He'd ask questions, diagnose your vision, and check himself over for charms or curses at the very least. He'd probe for information. He'd express more than a vague entertainment over the issue.
You pooled your magic and, to the best of your ability, dispelled whatever Solomon had going on. It was a trick he'd taught you months ago that you only used once in a blue moon, but it worked. A little gust of power crossed the room from you to him. The glitzy sparkles faded away and Solomon stopped glowing.
"I knew it!" you shouted, pointing your finger at your mentor. "You did enchant yourself!"
"Well, I always want to look my best in front of you." Solomon was chuckling as the last of his magical effect evaporated. "What do you think, did it work?"
With silver-gray hair that sparkled like stars in the right light and a bright glossy cloak that looked like the universe, Solomon was plenty eye-catching on a normal day. He didn't need more. You frankly stated, "You looked like a human disco ball."

it's ridiculous, the way you make asmodeus feel. there really isn't a better word for it.
he was the avatar of lust-- he was a being made to love and be loved, to lust and be lusted over. he's experienced everything imaginable when it comes to romance and sex. he knows the feeling of two hearts beating as one while they're entangled together in the sheet of one bed. he knows what it's like to go on cute dates, to go to strip clubs where he's the centre of attention, what it's like to be absolutely adored by everyone and everything around him. it gives him a thrill like no other; it's his purpose. his hearts beat rapidly as he soaks in their love, his cheeks are flushed in excitement as he feels everyone's eyes on him and him alone, electricity runs through his veins.
all of that, and yet there's nothing like doing your make-up quietly in his room.
he loves you, he knows that. he's never been one to deny it when he loves someone-- he loves a lot of people. he loves his fans, he loves his brothers, he loves solomon, he loves the people he makes love to. but nothing has ever compared to loving you. it's soft and special--like nothing he's ever lived through before. when he's with you, it's like time slows down, and he's just him outside of his beauty and sin.
how could he not love you? he gets flustered and shy when you look at him too intensely. he loves your eyes on him just as much as he doesn't know what to do when you look. he wants to impress you with all that he is, he wants you to see why he was the jewel of the heavens before he fell. he wants you to know that there is no one more beautiful than him. but most of all, he wants you to fall in love with him like he has fallen for you.
