this dynamic is so important to me

that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.

Guys if you want a chaotic child of hades… Hazel is right there. She canonically cusses like a sailor, and so does her horse, which is a minor god. She died denying the primordial goddess of the earth, Gaea and managed to resurrect a giant more powerful than the gods themselves. She’s crazy. And awesome.

Why is NICO considered the 'crazy, insane' son of Hades? he was born in the1930s to a rich family, HE IS GOING TO HAVE MANNERS.

Am I an Annabeth apologist? No. "apologist" implies she's done something wrong when Annabeth Chase has never done anything wrong in her life ever

He thought the goddess of love and beauty looked like annabeth. If that isn’t romantic idk what is? I love that they were friends first and that they’re still each other’s best friends even though they’re together.

platonic Percabeth in which they are just friends/kindred platonic souls.

i love that percy and annabeth are best friends. they truly just have the best time together and trust each other and admire one another so much. throughout everything, their friendship remains incredibly strong. it’s a huge part of their dynamic. they are besties. buddies. pals. bffs. they are definitely kindred souls.

but them being “just friends” takes away from their stories a lot. they truly have one of my favorite fictional love stories of all time. it’s truly incredible what they’ve survived and accomplished together. and the fact that they are based off of rick and his wife makes it 10000x more meaningful. percy and annabeth have so chemistry between them and there’s so much attraction there. and throughout all the shit they go through, their biggest dream/hope/goal is to settle down and start a family together. how many times has percy said that all he wants is to grow old with annabeth and love her till the day he dies? (answer: a LOT) it’s canonically what keeps them going, and keeps them fighting to stay alive. so for me personally, taking that away fills me with immense sadness for them. saying they are better as “just friends” feels like saying i don’t want them to be happy. and that’s not fair to them

people can headcanon them however they want. everyone has a right to their own opinion. and if people want to take the characters and change who they are/what they want, in ways that are big or small, that’s completely okay! it can be fun and creative, and helps a lot of people. but just me personally? i am very loyal to their canon depictions. and canonically, percy jackson and annabeth chase are head over heels in love. and im so happy for them

I love Rick Riordan. Do you have a disability? There’s probably a character for that. Are you a minority and/or lgbtq? There’s definitely a character for that. Sure, maybe it’s not all 100% accurate, but he’s TRYING and that means so, so much.
