If anyone has been wondering where I’ve gone, I’ve been moving and for a little while didn’t have internet. However, now I have internet and long lazy summer days full of experimenting with new painting methods!

Here’s some process shots of another girl in my series about witches and their familiars. She’s a blood witch and has so ornery raven pals.

Her underpainting is almost done, and then the rest is just laying in oils and getting everything just right.

My finished Kelpie animation!

A Kelpie is a shapeshifting Scottish water spirit, who takes the form of a white or black horse when it leaves the water. It lures passersby to mount it, but forces them to stick to its back as it charges into the water, drowns them, and eats them.

Daily Kelpie progress! Got a lot done today, not quite the entire mane like I planned, but the forelock is done, and his body is painted. I have to fix the mist and make the water move.

Some more work on the Kelpie! A little color works wonders, especially when you don’t have access to a tablet that day. Today’s goal is to get the rest of that mane to move.
