First Post is a rant. You should’ve seen this coming. Let’s talk about OCs.

*ahem* Whoever says shipping two OCs of your own together is “weird” or “incest” because you’re already building a world with your friends or siblings can eat old spaghetti pasta for breakfast. It’s YOUR OCs. Not theirs. The amount of times they felt weirded out because my OCs like each other and will be/are canon is funny to me, but also annoying. I understand that my OCs could be with some of theirs, but sometimes I feel like making someone who understands them because they’re my own character, and who knows their own character better than the creator themselves? It’s infuriating to put in words how I felt, because some of my own OC couples are a lot healthier than the ones I do with other people. It’s not gross, it’s not anything bad. People do this every time by writing their own comics, books, etc.

Just because I’m building a world with other people doesn’t mean that I can’t make my OC’s interact with one another. Okay, I write cute fluffy romance between my two characters, what’s wrong with that? And even the explicit stuff, there is nothing wrong with wanting to make your own OC’s build relationships with one another. Yes, it can be awkward, but where’s the fun in that if I didn’t?
