“My breath hitches at the memory of her, her voice, her touch. My body notices her absence, craving every inch of me to be explored by her and only her. I end my agony as I bring a lingering finger after another across my wet chest, mirroring the trail of her warm touch, up to my cheek. I feel her so vividly, her voice so clearly echoing within me, as if she was here, sharing this bath with me…

“Come find me” I exhale softly, my eyes going shut as I brush a finger against my lips.”

eric lures me closer to him, his fingers trailing up my legs one by one, arousing a sensation within me only he can awaken.

my heart grows as i look down to meet eric’s blue eyes because although this is his world, we will explore this new wonder together.

i loved rob marshall changing the statue to not be of prince eric in the little mermaid (2023) , further proving ariel was in love with the human world itself leading her to seek ursula’s help and not just give up her whole life for some man she had just met.

scuttle was changed from a seagull to a diving bird in the little mermaid (2023) meaning ariel had never gone to the surface & breathed fresh air, making it that more meaningful it being her first time and saving prince eric 😭

in “a guide to merfolk”, we learn through eric’s annotations how much the queen despises merfolk, yet the engagement ring belonged to her mother.

what if at a point in time, the merfolk royal bloodline and human royal bloodlines lived amongst each other on land, marrying to united both worlds ?

but for x reason, the merfolk royal bloodline who resided on land were exiled from sea, being stripped of their merfolk gifts.

resulting in them teach their children and future generations to despise merfolk believing their worlds could never be together.

so queen selina or the late king most definitely had merfolk ancestry in them. this would be the only explanation as to why queen selina had the mermaid sapphire ring!

eric and ariel’s marriage is ending centuries of war between the two worlds that were once united!

although prince eric acknowledges the girl with the mesmerizing voice was the one who saved him from drowning, but it was ariel who saved him entirely. being the only one who ever understood him for who he truly was, not being driven by isolation or fear but rather sharing the passion and drive for adventure, THEY WERE MADE FOR ONE ANOTHER

“we should allow you to get some sleep, and perhaps dried off as well.”

“oh, uh, yes! we took a boat out on the lagoon and i’m afraid we ended up in it!”

“anyway, goodnight.”

grimsby’s exquisite hosting etiquette saves me from my embarrassingly giggly manner. i’ve been like this all day, surprising myself as i have never been this way with anyone but myself, in my study. but today, as i rediscovered the beauty of the island with this very curious and very free-spirited young lady, i couldn’t help but enjoy the intimacy of sharing happiness and joy with her, as if it is what I am meant to do for the rest of my life

my eyes follow her small silhouette up the stairs and I am speechless, unable to say anything more to not embarrass myself further. i fail immensely as my cheeks heat up when she turns around catching me smiling, admiring how breathtaking she looks in my hat, how her beautiful long locks fall down her back. unable to hide my fondness for her , i stand still as she walks back down towards me and places my hat on my head. having nowhere else to hide, my eyes wonder else wear to not meet hers. my brain is only allowed to think of “goodnight. ariel” after inhaling her sweet salty scent once more.

as ariel walks up the stairs towards the guest bedchambers, my mind is reminded of the wonderful day i shared with her. In complete and utter bliss, here i stand, frozen as I stare at the girl that washed up from the sea just yesterday, desperately wishing i had built up the courage to have kissed her way before we fell into the lagoon

my comfort and care-free spirit today with her leads me to believe i had to have met ariel before her arrival at the castle. i am reminded of the reaction my body had under her touch in the row boat, how familiar it was on my cheek. my mind has been a fog ever since, ariel consuming every thought racing in my mind. she is all i can think about now. after having had only spent a day with this beautiful stranger, I can not imagine what life was before her or what it could be after, without her. she has invaded me in every way possible and i can not seem to remember what occupied me before her.

i am snapped out of my heavenly thoughts by grimsby’s voice, expressing disappointment when stating they could not find the girl. What girl is he referring to?

you’re telling me this 6’2 curly haired prince was running the island and NO ONE, NO ONE wanted to listen to him ramble on about the treasures he would find on his voyages so he could fall in love with them? all ariel had to do was listen and he was hers 😭

Ariel’s pov:

arriving on shore for the first time and I am worried and unaware of what to do. I shake his chest, and i’m relieved as he released water to allow himself to breathe.

calmness sets within me and i realize i can finally scan eric’s beautiful features.

eric.

the sight of this human, the first human i ever laid eyes on, sends me into complete awe, softly sung melodies leaving my lips. My eyes wanders around not knowing where to set focus.

my curiosity, the curiosity my family never understood and forbid me to explore, is finally being answered as i feel his chest rising and falling under my touch.

my curious fingers brush across his chest, admiring and memorizing every crevice and mark, up to his temple where a small wound happens to be.

how does eric’s hat end up on ariel’s head when grimsby catches them sneaking in? we never get to see eric put his hat on ariel because once they fell into the lagoon, he put it on so quickly before taking ariel’s hand to get out of the water. he must have put it on her on the carriage on their way home, he wanted to see what ariel looked like with his hat on, the hat she chose for him, the hat he desperately didn’t want to lose, PLEASE OMG-

prince eric pov:

as i am regaining consciousness, the sounds of clashing waves fill my ears. i feel a cold hand on my chest and the warm sand beneath me.

how did i get ashore?

my eyes are heavy, too heavy to open. my mind is in scrambles as i try to make out how i got here, what happened to my crew, what about max and grims?

my thoughts are interrupted by the cold hand as it softly swifts from my chest to my temple, accompanied by a heavenly melody. The melody echoes within me, ringing waiting for an answer.

my hand begins to follow the curious fingers, wondering who they belong to. My body happily obliges to the healing melody and i am greeted with comfort, safety.

As i am granted the strength to open my eyes, the curious fingers meet mine, her touch warm in mine, oppose to her coldness on the rest of me.

i try to get a glimpse of the girl who just saved my life but my vision is clouded, only allowing me to see a silhouette enhanced by the rising dawn.
