any tips on how to get a 82.5% to a 93% in 5 weeks?

hey! i just did this with my biology grade, which i managed to get from a 79% to a 96% in a month. i don’t know what subject you need, so i’m going to link you to a few resources and include a few of my own tips :)

how to survive when your teacher is crappy

breathe. when i get a bad grade, my first reaction is to freak out and sometimes i even start to tear up (especially if it’s a test). to make myself calm down, i count down. if i’m really really upset, i’ll count from a really high number like 50, but if i’m just nervous or annoyed i’ll start from 20 or 10.

ask what you did wrong asap. teachers love this!! plus, you’ll understand why/how you missed the question, and how to prep better next time.

take every assignment seriously. even classwork. double check and triple check all of your work to make sure that you’ve done it as accurately as possible. if it’s classwork or homework, answer all of the questions in detail and make sure that you understand everything! 

talk to your teachers. this is a given, but i’m serious about it. as them for extra credit (if they offer it, which a lot of teachers at my school don’t), ask to redo or look at past assignments/exams, attend review sessions, visit them after school or during office hours, etc.

make sure that you’re studying well. there is no point in spending hours cramming if you aren’t retaining information or don’t understand the material. for resources, you can check out my study tips tag and all of my subject-specific tags, or this school resources masterpost :)

remember, no one is perfect. school is hard, and sometimes we don’t get the grades that we want. if you don’t do as well as you hoped, use it as motivation for the future :)

[fri. 26 february] here are my spreads from the past few weeks! i need to get used to posting more original content because i’ve only been reblogging lately haha ;; much of my inspiration came from one of my favorite studyblrs, @studytildawn! i’m still recovering from my fever, slowly but surely, and working rigorously for the past few days. i really do need a new lamp though goodness, does anybody have any recs for good reading lamps? thanks!

02.27.16. most of my friends had their essays due a few weeks ago, but my class is only just starting ours. i’ve heard a lot of horror stories about writing this essay in particular, so i’m hoping to keep the stress to a bare minimum by creating a plan and sticking to it. let’s see if it works.

So an acquaintance of mine made me upset this evening, and it’s not the first time. If this was me a couple years ago, I’d be questioning why and it’d eat me up. But you know what I just did instead? I deleted the conversation and I deleted their contact. Because I don’t need additional shit in my life that’s going to make me upset.

That’s what you have to do. Cut out the shitty parts of your life you can control.

I’m better now that there’s no you. The first week was the hardest, it was like moving out of your childhood room and waking up in a new apartment. But you decorate the new place and add in the latest parts of your life and all of a sudden, what you’ve left behind wasn’t as great as you once thought. Then, you finally understand why you chose to turn your back on it.
