Voice Actors Needed!

Hey! I’m currently working on my Senior Animation “Oh, Jimmy”, A 5 minute Comedic Drama film based on the life of a kid named Jimmy and his family’s curse. The film is slightly morbid, but has a fun lighthearted look to it. Here’s a better short synopsis:

Synopsis: A Young lass named Jimmy joins his family in mourning the loss of a loved one. The bouquet of roses looking particularly striking, he simply MUST have one. Little does poor Jimmy know, a simple plucked rose may activate a fatal curse passed down for generations.

Requirements:

As I don’t have money being a college student, this will need to be strictly Volunteer work, but you’ll be getting credit of course! (However, we can talk about other payments in the form of Art or a short animation if you’d like! The art would need to be done during the summer though, I’ll be working on this animation until May.)

There is only one speaking roll, the narrator. More Masc voices preferred for this role! Think Stanley Parable.

**Deadline: January 16th for the auditions! ***Voice overs after that will be due sometime between Jan 30th- Fab 10th, this can be discussed if you need more time!

**For insp. I was thinking the narrator would be Stanley Parable-esc; serious but not super serious. Show me what you got I’d love to hear it!

**If needed, I have an animatic already with me as the narrator ready to show anyone who might wish to see for timing purposes, though it isn’t the best Voice Acting of course. I put my voice through a TikTok filter for effect haha.

Narrator:

A deeper voice preferably, but am open to other options! Smooth and wise narration, slight emotional response in scenes that matter.

Example lines:

N:” A rose, plucked from the dearly departed’s bouquet fated to be buried along with the dead. Now cursed to be the next of kin to perish in his family. This is the curse his family has held secret for years before him. This is the curse Jimmy must bear until his final hours on this dreadful earth.”

N: “This is Jimmy. Jimmy doesn’t find the long lines and teary eyes of his distant relatives any more interesting than watching paint dry. As for the dearly departed, he barely knew him. If it were up to him he’d wait in the car until this was all over. Not that he didn’t love his family, of course.”

N:” It’s better this way. If it weren't for him staying in this room safe and sound, they wouldn’t be so happy…right?”
