people think i like wolverine because he's hot but in reality it's because you have this guy, right. and he didn't ask to be what he is. he liked to eat berries and play in the water and look at chandeliers and would latch on to anyone who showed him an ounce of kindness. but unfortunately he was born with claws and those claws are sharp and the harder he holds on, the more he hurts the people he loves. and when those claws popped for the first time he cried out for his mama. and it hurt him. he screamed and cried from pain because he still hurts just like everyone else, he just can't give in to the pain. and people figured this out and took advantage of him to make him into an indestructible weapon, and he's fought for decades to undo his programming but he still gets angry and scared and as much as he fights to be a man, he is still an animal deep down, and a scared animal is a very dangerous thing. and he loves his daughter and he's not very good at it but it's his instinct to take children under his wing so he tries his damned hardest and his biggest fear is that she'll turn out like him. and he's the best there is at what he does but he doesn't like to kill things, not really, but it's all he's been worth and all he's ever really known. but he teaches his children that killing isn't and should never be the first resort. and he has been through so much trauma and if anyone else had gone through what he went through, they'd be 10× worse, but they haven't, and they don't understand, and they don't try to understand. they write him off as an untamed animal with an attitude problem even though he's very well adjusted considering everything. he loves his friends and can communicate with animals and likes country music and alcohol and cigars. he likes to play and take care of people and be taken care of. he speaks upwards of 10 languages and takes the time to learn about other cultures and he may not be the smartest of the x-men where two people have ten PHDs between them, but some of the smartest characters trust his word and consider him on par with their brainpower. and as much as it seems like he fights with his claws and not his head, he has to constantly analyze where his body is in space and time so that his claws come out just right. and he never stops wearing that stupid yellow suit because it turns the attention towards him and away from his teammates in battle because OBVIOUSLY he cares and he loves his people. and it takes him .7 seconds to become deathly loyal to someone because really all he wants is someone to love him and maybe respect him as an equal. but REALLY I like him because he's a 5'3" bisexual manwhore

These are my beautiful grandparents! They have lived incredible lives and are absolutely wonderful people. Sadly, my grandmother is in a predicament that may need your help.

My grandfather passed away Jan. 4 of 2022, and things have been a slow decline for my grandmother ever since. She's now in a situation where her health requires someone to be with her constantly, but her current carer has to go back home suddenly, and very soon.

My family has organized a fundraiser to help move our grandmother back here to us. She has to move from Alaska back to Kentucky with basically no money, no furniture, and no place to permanently stay. She currently lives on a boat in Ketchikan by herself now, since my grandfather passed away. She can't take care of herself any longer due to ongoing health issues, and the isolation of the island where she's currently staying has made things worse.

Her daughter had come up from Kentucky to be her carer until they could sell the boat and use the money to come back, but her daughter's husband was diagnosed with ALS while she was there and he is declining more rapidly than they expected, so she has no choice but to come home far earlier than expected to be with him.

This would leave our grandmother alone and unable to care for herself. We're trying to raise enough money to pay to bring her home, move what belongings she does have, and find her a place near us (hopefully somewhere that can provide some additional care or assistance). It's very sudden and super overwhelming, and we could use all the help we can get.

If you're in a place where you can comfortably donate *anything* to help out, we would appreciate it so, so much. If you aren't in a comfortable place to donate, that's just fine too, I completely understand and you don't need to feel guilty.

Guys please I am BEGGING you to pay more attention to the art you're reblogging

I've seen 2 different posts this week in the poolverine tag of stolen art and they both had over a hundred notes and no one calling them out.

The easiest way to tell is to compare the watermark/signature on the image with the username (no signature in combo with weird cropping is an immediate red flag). Here's one that I've seen recently making the rounds, I highlighted the signature and username to compare

They don't match. HOWEVER, there are artists whose signature is different than their user, and if you're not sure, check the blog. If they're an actual artist, you should be able to tell immediately because there will be other art pieces that match the signature and style. Art thieves tend to post multiple pictures as well, but the key differences are: the speed at which they post (your average artist isn't posting 3 different pieces back to back in the same day, at least not without an explanation), the signatures and watermarks of course, and noticeable differences in artstyle (and even artists who practice different styles are still gonna have tells that it's their art like the shapes, anatomy, coloring, shading are going to resemble each other)

Back to the example blog, let's look at their other posts.

The first was posted the same day as the poolverine piece, and not only is there no signature + obvious cropping, it's a completely different artstyle. There was no credit for the og artist on the post. The second also has a different signature and artstyle, and of course no credit to the original artist. We know now that this person has no problems with posting other people's art and letting people believe it's theirs.

One of the most common excuses these reposters give is that they found it on pinterest or some other site, where there was no credit, and wanted to share it anyway. Except it took me 3 SECONDS to find the artist of the poolverine art by reverse image searching, which you can find HERE. I unfortunately couldn't find the source for the Scarlet Witch art, but I did find the source of "Y/N's hero suit" HERE. Of course, not being able to find the source is even less of an excuse, because you should always get the artist's permission to repost, and you can't do that if you don't even know who the artist is.

This isn't meant to make you feel terrible for unknowingly reblogging stolen art, I understand that if you're just scrolling along it's easy to just reblog something you like without thinking, I've done this myself before, which is why I'm so particular about the art I reblog now. If you're willingly reblogging art that you know is stolen, then you're up there with the thief in your shittiness and you can go fuck yourself.

You shouldn't have to go sleuthing just to reblog art you like, but unfortunately the internet has shitty people that steal, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
