The Secret of Aromaling Seedlings

Aromaling babies begin their lives in the form of seeds. To aid their growth, elder Aromalings dress the seedlings in special "carrion wraps," providing essential nutrients for their development. Over time, the seeds absorb these nutrients, sprout, and grow. Once they reach a certain stage, the seedlings naturally evolve into distinct forms based on their unique personalities and talents: the steadfast and courageous Garliclings, the warm and nurturing Gingerlings, or the wise and contemplative Staranlings.

For the past several months, I’ve been working on an original story and illustrations titled Aroma Haven. This story delves into the world of nature, plants, aromas, and spices. It imagines a time when humans have gone extinct, and plants reign supreme. In this world, all humanoid creatures are no larger than a human hand. At its heart is Flynn, a daring gliding adventurer, who teams up with her swift and quirky partner, the snailhound Shellby, as they embark on a journey to uncover the secrets of the legendary Aroma Haven.

I used to struggle with self-doubt, often questioning myself: “Are my ideas too childish?” or “Will anyone care about this as much as fan art?” Even my English writing skills felt like a barrier. These thoughts, though unhelpful, often stood in my way. But one day, a simple realization struck me: “Your characters may not be perfect, but they deserve to exist in this world. And they won’t, unless you bring them to life.”

Since then, creating has taken on a whole new meaning for me. It feels fulfilling to draw these characters, to breathe life into their story, and to share them with you. I will post more later on, and see you soon!
