Road to Happiness

We met right around the right time In between a I'll see you later And everything lived in our past life, At around three she approached me Said "I'm here for the interview", Replied "if you would please take a seat" From that second I've been addicted To the essence that cycles in her being, You know life doesn't always play nice Taught me that to win a few fights You got to take it slow, enjoy the ride By her side to her side I left my pride To assure and endure the times Id work for to get more Wouldn't be undertone Or misinterpreted forgotten or gotten wrong. We earned our day so today When we say those four letters They taste sweeter than ever Like the perfect antidote To reality the will killer, Deal dealer a chill giver. We've never acted like we perfect Embrace our flaws with confidence They are all wort it, So as we went from friends to taking The number one spot of couple in the making We didn't do much but keep cool and stay patient Aging I'm thankful it's your hand that I'm shaking When closing deals or compromise To the future we are creating. The road to happiness Gold panted in the color of a hug Buffed daily shining in the dark We never miss the mark When we mix trust in our art Play our part like board and dart You are the now to my later Savior to my destructive behavior Tailor yet equal creation and maker Happy to be on this road with you.

Poetical Skills (Maturity)

  More I know the less I say, more I see the less I believe I recognize it in others the same way I have seen it in me Age is a life sentence in a correctional facility with no option to bond. The direct correlation people see between age and clarity I have dodged explicitly for I solemnly swear with twenty My maturity levels where at an all time high, call it arrogance off the charts But maybe this is maturity, seeing in each year how I change staying the same Adding to my trolley of destiny riddled fate, making the most out of my days Others relate the scars and heartache with knowledge, cathartic mid state like being a negative person shows the places where we have laid Said facts are not wrong but who ever agreed  To make a broken heart the price to pay, in order to act your age or at least behave. So yup, age is just a number that you cant just give up Like a bad shopping habit mixed with your interest loan Wish you could, but it was never under your control Midlife crisis has you wondering where you got it all wrong The idealist you once loved is now gone, so long and bon voyage  Skeptic, over analytical, hurt and scarred Very mature on your behalf, mine too I must say. So I do ignore the haters, the girls, friends or companions who know best Still find it amusing that people who earn less and are miserable Think happy old me;actually give a G.Bush about the remarks they share. Mature, yes you are… We all can see how you handle your work for a second look at the world And you might realise it doesn’t revolve around your #twerk. I know, I know. I’m so immature.
