Minds Collide - Logicality Ch 3
Chapter 3
Word count: 1359
TW: starting this one off a little frisky, no intense smut though
Roman had finished his work at the theater for the day and was exhausted, gathering his things to go home. He walked out towards his car, excited to get home when someone caught his attention.
“Hey, Princey.”
Roman looked over to see an emo boy leaned against a black van in the parking lot. He wore a purple jacket and a smirk on his lips. Roman rolled his eyes, “Not now, Hot Topic.”
Virgil’s smirk only grew as he gestured towards his van, “Why don’t you come sit with me for a bit, huh?” He climbed inside the van, sitting on the blanketed back floorboards, the back seats having been removed for more room.
Despite Roman’s efforts of seeming uninterested, he followed Virge into the van, sitting next to him. “I told you we’re not doing this right now, I’m very tired and I was just going to go ho-” Roman was cut off as lips pressed against his. Virge kissed him roughly, moving his hand to grip his waist. He deepened the kiss before pulling away, eying Roman lustfully. “I don’t know why you act like you don’t want me, Prince.”
Roman wiped his mouth, “Because you know I’m one for romance and this- what we do is not romantic in the slightest and-”
“Why not?” Virge cut him off with a shrug. “Why can’t this be considered romantic?” He ran his hand up Roman’s thigh, causing the brown haired boy so shift slightly where he sat.
“It’s just not. There aren’t any candles or dinner or- or-” He whimpered as Virge placed slow kisses down his neck, successfully making him lose his train of thought. Virgil pulled Roman over to straddle his hips, kissing him roughly for a moment before pulling away with a smirk. “This can be whatever you want it to be, baby.”
Later that night, Roman returned home and tried to be quiet as he walked through the front door, not wanting to alert his brother of his arrival. Lord knows he didn’t want to deal with him right now. With the most unfortunate luck, his brother was sitting on the couch and immediately caught his eye.
“Hey, you’re home late.” His brother, Remus, raised an eyebrow at him. Remus and Roman were identical in appearance, aside from Remus’ birth mark causing him to have a white streak through is hair.
Roman ran a hand through his messy hair, collapsing on the couch next to his brother with a huff. “Yep.”
Remus eyed him for a second, “You got a boyfriend I don’t know about?”
This surprised Roman and he looked at his brother with wide eyes, “Huh?”
Remus rolled his eyes as if it were obvious as to what he was referring to. “The hickeys? You’re not exactly the type to hook up with some dude so CLEARLY, you have a boyfriend you haven’t told me about.”
“Oh.” Roman let out a heavy sigh. “Well, believe it or not, I don’t have a boyfriend.”
Remus looked at him with a confused expression on his face. “...So what? You’re dick-whipped?”
Roman groaned. He was already confused by his feelings towards the lustful boy he keeps finding himself hooking up with, and quite frankly didn’t want to talk about it. “Something like that,” he mumbled before going upstairs to his room. He flopped onto his bed, burrying his face in his pillow. He tried to sleep to rid himself of his unwanted thoughts of the romance he so badly craved, but failed miserably, groaning once again. He grabbed his phone and called Patton.
“Hey, Kiddo!” Patton replied cheerily, sounds of a TV show in the background. Roman found himself smiling as he heard his best friend’s voice. “What’s up, Padre? What’s going on with you?”
“I’m good! I saw Logan yesterday and asked him to go to your performance with me!”
Roman nodded as if Patton could see him, “Aaaaand? What did he say??”
Patton giggled, “He said yes! I don’t think it’s like… a date? But it’s a start to hanging out with him… at the very least I could have a new friend.”
“Well that’s better than nothing isn’t it? Maybe you can casually suggest to take him to dinner after the show or something so that you can show that you want to get closer to him?”
Patton gasped and squealed, causing Roman to pull the phone away from his ear to protect his hearing. “Roman, that’s a great idea! I’ll ask him when I see him next week.”
They spent way too long talking about Patton’s upcoming plans with Logan, before they eventually went to sleep, to exhausted to even attempt to stay awake any longer. Roman wanted to talk about Virgil, but he wasn’t sure quite how to. In a way, he felt pathetic bringing it up. It wasn’t abnormal for people his age to hook up with others, but unlike them, he found himself a tad obsessed. He secretly looked forward to being ambushed by Virgil after rehearsal and for that, he felt ashamed. He was known for being a romantic individual and favoring romance and love over all else. What was he doing here having a pointless hookup with this emo boy he just so happened to stumble into one day? Was it truly a pointless hookup? He wasn’t so sure anymore.
Later that week, Logan and Patton were having their typical conversations at their table in the library. Patton cleared his throat nervously, fidgeting with his hands, “Sooo Logan, I had a question for you.”
Logan looked at him curiously, “What is it, Patton?”
Patton smiled, “Well I was wondering if you would want to go to dinner with me after Roman’s performance in a few weeks?”
Logan thought it over for a moment, unnecessarily pushing his glasses up his nose. “I suppose that would be satisfactory.”
Patton smiled, clapping his hands happily. “YAY! Oh Logan, that makes me so happy!” He held his hand up and Logan looked at it before awkwardly giving Patton a high-five, causing Patton to giggle. “You’re very cute Logan.”
Logan’s eyes widened as he was taken aback, “I- I don’t- I’m not sure-”
Patton smiled gently. “It’s okay, it’s a compliment.”
Logan looked at him and cleared his throat. His throat dusted with a light pink blush, although he was unsure as to why. “Thank- Thank you, Patton.” He sighed softly, almost annoyed with himself for stuttering. He was known for being formal and put together so being so flustered was unlike him, and left him a bit confused. Regardless, he wasn’t unhappy about his plans with Patton. He found himself looking forward to them, despite his uncertainty. Part of him wanted to go to make his dads happy, but still.
“So,” Patton started happily, “I was thinking about getting a puppy.”
Logan studied Patton’s expression, “Why?”
Patton shrugged, “Because they’re cute! Plus, I live alone so I think it would be nice to have a little puppy to give me some company.”
Logan nodded, “I could see that being helpful. I’m not so much of a fan of dogs myself.”
Patton tilted his head at this, looking a bit like an intrigued puppy himself. Logan stared at him for a second before looking away, pushing up his glasses. “Why’s that?” Patton asked.
“I find them to be messy and loud, and I’m not a fan of a dog jumping on me or licking me. I like to keep my peace.”
Patton shrugged, “That’s fair! I love puppies and with the right training you can have them not jumping on you or being too loud.”
They continued their ramblings before Patton had to go to his spot to read to the children, Logan watching him from his spot and placing his headphones comfortably over his ears. He listened to soft, classical music as he watched how Patton interacted with the children with a caring, loving nature. Something deep inside him ached as he watched Patton’s kind mannerisms, though he wasn’t sure why.

Minds Collide - Logicality Ch 2
Chapter 2
Word count: 1246
Patton sat resting his chin on his hand, staring off into a state of blissful daydreaming. He let out a wistful sigh.
“You’re not listening, are you? Patton. Pat!”
Patton blinked, focusing his eyes on his friend, “Huh? Oh, sorry Roman, what were you saying?”
Roman rolled his eyes dramatically, “I was talking about my newest performance which you were supposed to help me run lines for but CLEARLY you have other things on your mind. What’s going on in that brain of yours Padre?” Roman eyed him curiously; a tall man of 20 years with light brown, flowy hair, and hazel eyes. He is undeniably handsome and a natural gentleman. He is the full package, and he knows it. Above all else, he is a sucker for romance.
Patton smiled sheepishly, “I’ve just been thinking… about a boy…”
Roman gasped, his eyes widening in intrigue, “A boy?! Pat, you must tell me EVERYTHING!”
Patton giggled, lying on his stomach in Roman’s bed. “It’s nothing he just… I met him in the library where I read to my kiddos. He’s so- he’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met before.”
Roman smiled encouragingly, “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you this infatuated with someone. What’s he like? What’s his name?”
Patton fidgeted with Roman’s bedspread, smiling to himself as he thought about the boy in the library who he was becoming so fond of. “His name is Logan. He’s tall and so smart. Like so smart. Like smarter than anybody I’ve ever met, he’s like a computer.” He giggled, “But he’s like cute smart, y’know?” Roman laughed softly, Patton continuing.
“He wears these glasses and he like always wears a tie? I don’t know if that’s just his quirk or what but he is always wearing a tie and he just… makes it work? I don’t know but he’s cute…”
Roman smiled, “What do y’all talk about?”
Patton giggled, shaking his head, “Lots of stuff I don’t even understand. Like he loves space so he talks about space and I don’t understand any bit of it but I’m just like sure whatever you say cutie.”
Patton and Roman burst into a fit of laughter, Roman shaking his head endearingly at his sweet, homosexual friend. “You sure seem to like him a lot Patton but you’ve only known him what? A week? Two tops?”
Patton shrugged with a slight smile, his cheeks turning pink. “I- I know it’s early but-”
Roman cut him off, “I’m not judging you Padre, I get it, I’m just saying y’know, be careful. I don’t want my buddy to get his heart broken, okay?”
Patton nodded, “I know! I don’t expect him to like be my boyfriend or anything. I know I don’t know him well yet but it doesn’t hurt anything to have a crush! It’s fun!”
Roman smiled, “That it is, my friend!” He accepted a hug from his fatherly friend, rubbing his back. Roman and Patton had a special bond and as much as Roman loved romance and, well, love; he worried about Patton. Patton rarely fell in love romantically, so he was excited for his friend. Despite his excitement, however, part of him was still worried. Nobody deserved to have a broken heart, much less sweet Patton.
Later the next day, Patton was back in the library to read to the kiddos. He showed up much earlier than necessary to have a chance to talk to Logan. Unsurprisingly, the glasses-wearing boy was sitting in his usual spot, reading his novel and drinking something from his Yeti.
Patton smiled, holding a tray of cupcakes as he slid into the seat in front of Logan. “Hiiii Logan!” He exclaimed happily.
Logan looked at him, placing his bookmark in his book before setting it aside, “Hello, Patton.”
Patton watched him, his blue-green eyes bright and piercing. “How ya doing today?”
Logan thought for a moment before giving a courteous nod. “I have been well, how are you?”
Patton giggled at his formality, still not quite used to it. “I’m great! I have a surprise for you.” Logan raised a questioning eyebrow as Patton worked on taking the cover off of the tray of cupcakes he had placed in front of them on the table. He uncovered the tray to reveal several cupcakes decorated to look like cats, aside from one cupcake which didn’t quite look like the others. “We’re reading cat books this week instead of puppy books so I made cat cupcakes! I, uhm… I know you’re not so much of a fan of cats or puppy designs though so I made this one special for you!” He blushed as he pulled the unique-looking cupcake out of the tray, handing it to Logan with a napkin. The cupcake had dark blue frosting flattened on the top as the background with a planet drawn neatly on top, surrounded by stars. The cupcake looked professionally decorated and Patton smiled proudly at his work.
Logan took the cupcake from his hands, staring at it for a moment before blinking and looking up at Patton. “This was very thoughtful Patton… thank you.” Patton giggled, his blush only growing darker. He watched as Logan took a bite from the expertly decorated cupcake. “Do you like it?”
Logan nodded contentedly, “That is quite delicious Patton, although your baked treats always taste satisfactory.”
Patton nodded, giggling happily, “Thank you, Logan!”
They spoke about Logan’s novel for a bit before falling into a comfortable silence, scrolling through their phones. Patton was scrolling through the internet, but he wasn’t very focused. He wanted to ask Logan out. Maybe not even on a date, but perhaps just to hang out and do something fun! He just had to find the courage to ask. He really liked talking to Logan and spending time with him, but he had no idea what Logan thought of him. He took in a nervous, shaky breath, setting his phone face-down on the table and smiling at Logan. “Hey, Logan…”
Logan looked up from his phone at Patton, humming curiously, “Hm?”
Patton fidgeted nervously with his hands, “Would you like to hang out outside the library sometime? I was thinking we could see my friend Roman’s play together.”
Logan stared at him, studying his face as he thought over what Patton had said. He wasn’t used to someone asking him to go out and do anything, he wasn’t quite sure how to respond. Maybe it could be fun to go out and do something with a new friend? He shrugged slightly, “Okay… I can appreciate a theatrical performance.”
Patton’s smile widened, “Really??! YAY!” he clapped his hands, and moved to hug Logan out of habit, backing out as Logan tensed up uncomfortably. Patton giggled quietly from embarrassment. “Sorry… A-Anyway! Can I give you my number? So that we can plan to go to the play?”
Logan cleared his throat, nodding and opening his phone to his contacts, allowing Patton to add himself in as a contact and message himself so that he’d have Logan’s number.
The rest of the day went as smoothly as it could, with the two falling into comfortable conversation until Patton had to go to the children’s section to begin his reading hour. Logan read his novel while Patton read to the children, sending glances over at Patton now and then. Although he didn’t quite know why or how to put it into words, he was looking forward to his plans with Patton.

Minds Collide - Logicality Ch 1
Chapter 1 Word count: 1680 words
Logan sat in his favorite spot in the back of his local library. It was quiet, he loved the quiet. He spent most of his days in this spot. He sat in a comfortable chair and read his books, helping the librarians put away returned books when they needed it. He spent most days in his spot in the library while his dad was at work and his other dad took care of things at home. He worked on his online college work on his laptop, then read his books or enjoyed his lunch. It was a simple routine, but one he enjoyed nonetheless.
Today was different, however. He noticed that there was a chair set up near the children’s books that wasn’t usually there, and a sign that read, “Papa Patton’s Storytime Hour.” Logan furrowed his brow in confusion before making his way over to the librarian. “Hello, Jess.”
Jess smiled at him, “Hey Logan, how are ya today?”
“I am content today, thank you. May I inquire as to the events in the children’s section today?”
Jess smiled at his formality. “Yeah, of course! So we have a gentleman coming today at 2 o’clock to read to some homeschooled kiddos. We thought it would be fun and so we called and set up an event on Facebook so that we could see how many people would be coming to be prepared.”
Logan frowned, not a huge fan of children. “May I ask how long the event will be taking place?”
“Um.. we’re not sure? A while. I mean I know it’s not really your scene, you’re more than welcome to sit in the back office if it becomes too much.”
Logan nodded, “I appreciate the offer, Jess.” He made his way back to his spot, dreading the inevitable group of loud children. He put his headphones on and scrolled through his phone, only looking up when a cupcake was placed in front of him on a small place with a napkin. The cupcake was decorated to look like a puppy, with fondant ears and paws. Smiling brightly at him was a pale man wearing a blue polo shirt with a cat cardigan wrapped around his shoulders. He was simply adorable in every way, although he looked like the stereotypical image of a white dad.
“Hi, I’m Patton!” he extended a hand out to Logan to shake, still sporting the bright smile on his face. Logan hesitated for a moment, analyzing Patton’s face and wondering how is he so expressively cheerful? He shook Patton’s hand, “Hello, I am Logan.” Patton nodded, “Well it’s nice to meet you Logan, I hope you like cupcakes!” Patton took a seat, speaking excitedly. “Jess told me you are in here every day so I figured I’d introduce myself since I’ll be coming in to read to my kiddos a few times a week… we’re reading puppy-themed books today so I made the cupcakes puppy-themed!” He giggled, pointing at the ears on his cupcakes.
Logan nodded, pushing his glasses up. “I’m not one for baking but I do enjoy the occasional treat, so thank you.” Logan noted how bright Patton’s smile was, a dimple present on either side and freckles delicately scattered across his nose and over his cheeks. “You’re welcome! I LOVE baking! It’s so much more fun than buying sweets from the store.” He giggled, his gaze falling upon Logan’s novel and laptop on the table. “So is this what you do every day? You like reading?” Patton was looking at him intensely, curiosity and intrigue evident on his face although Logan didn’t quite notice.
“Yes, reading is an enjoyable pass-time for me. I read and learn something new every day, and the library is a good place for such objectives. It is… quiet.”
Patton nodded, resting his chin on his hands as he listened to Logan speak, his smile still plastered on his face. He’s barely just met Logan and he’s unlike anyone he’s ever met before. He’s never met someone, especially not someone his age, who sounds so smart (to put it simply.) It fascinated him that someone just had all these big words in their brain all the time and knew what they meant and when to use them. Patton’s not stupid, but his intelligence lies elsewhere. “It is quiet, I bet the quiet’s nice. I don’t get a ton of quiet every day since I work with kids but it’s nice when I do.”
Logan shook his head slightly. “I wouldn’t be able to work for children. I am… not much of a fan of children. I do not enjoy being around overly loud people or things often.” Patton listened intently, shrugging when Logan finished speaking. “That’s fair! I mean that makes sense but I love my kiddos and I super love my job! It’s so fun, and kids are so creative, speaking of which.. Oh wow,” he exclaimed as he checked his watch, “I need to go set up before the kids flock in! It was nice meeting you Logan, I hope to see you next week?”
Logan nodded courteously, watching as Patton rushed over to get his books ready and set up the table with the snacks and cupcakes for the kids. It didn’t take long before the kids and their parents started arriving, Patton greeting them cheerfully. Logan watched him from his spot, having turned on the noise-cancelling setting on his headphones to make this time more bearable. He found himself just watching Patton and studying his mannerisms. He watched how Patton worked with the children, being patient and caring of each child there. He watched how Patton interacted with the parents, mature and respectful. Patton fascinated him in every way and he wasn’t sure how to feel about the energetic man.
Logan sat at the dinner table with his dads that night. He was 19 years old and in college but he saw no reason to move away from home so he still ate dinner with his dads most nights. His dad, Remy, was a thin man of average height who always seemed to have bags under his eyes. He set a plate of food down in front of Logan and his husband before finally having a seat in his chair. His husband, Emile, was a healthy-looking man with caring eyes and an inviting nature (unsurprising considering he spent his days working as a therapist). “Thank you, darling,” Emile said to his husband before taking a bite of his food, turning to Logan after he had finished chewing. “How was your day, son? Anything interesting happen?”
Logan nodded, looking at his papa. “Yes,” he said without any emotion in his voice.
Both of his dads perked up after hearing this. Logan didn’t often deviate from his daily routine so to hear that he may have experienced something new today, and didn’t seem upset about it either, makes them quite joyous. They wanted the best for their son, and with Logan being autistic they took victories where they could get them. Remy nodded encouragingly, “Yeah? What happened?”
“I became acquainted with someone new today. His name is Patton and he is going to be reading to children at the library twice a week.” He took a bite of his food before continuing. “He said hello to me today and asked about my novels… he was smiling. He was friendly.”
Emile nodded, setting his fork down. “You said he’s going to be coming to the library a few times a week? Do you think this could be a potential new friend?”
Logan shrugged, “I don’t know. He’s not like Virgil.”
Remy took a drink from his glass before offering his son a dinner roll and a caring smile. “Well, maybe it would be good for you to have a friend that isn’t like Virgil. We love Virgil, but variety doesn’t have to be a bad thing, love.” Emile nodded in agreement with his husband. “Your dad is right, Lo. Maybe someone bright and friendly as you said could add a different perspective to your life and friendships.”
Logan sighed softly, “Perhaps you’re correct. We aren’t very similar to each other, though.”
Remy laughed softly at this, “That’s not a bad thing, I mean- I’d hate to be around someone exactly like me. I think I’d go insane.”
Logan was quiet for a second before humming softly, “I did not consider that perspective.” Logan thought about the happy boy in the library as he and his parents fell into a comfortable silence, finishing their meal. After helping clean up dinner, Logan was about to head upstairs when his dad called to him, catching his attention. “Is Virge still coming over hun?”
Logan nodded and replied with a simple ‘yes’ before heading upstairs to his favorite room in the house, his bedroom. His bedroom was his safe space. He kept the room dark, usually only lit with his special lamp that shone constellations across his ceiling. His walls were a dark blue, his carpet an aesthetically matching gray. His bed was made neatly with a space-themed comforter. He sat in his large beanbag chair in the corner where he usually resides, reading his current novel and waiting for his best friend to arrive.
Virgil eventually arrived and they went through the usual steps of their routine. Virgil played some My Chemical Romance at a low volume on Logan’s TV before curling up in Logan’s bed and taking a nap, Logan continuing his reading in his chair. Logan liked these nights he had with Virge most weekends. He liked being able to keep his peace while still being in the presence of someone he was comfortable with, and Virge tended to be a quiet person in general so it just worked out. Virgil has been his best friend and one of his only friends for most of his life. He found comfort in Virgil’s company and wasn’t sure he’d ever be able to see that same comfort in someone else, much less someone more energetic and upbeat—someone like Patton.

Minds Collide - Logicality
Content warnings for: intense fluff, eventual smut, mental health, neurodivergence, Remus, SH, swearing, eating disorders, etc. The whole shebang. Not sharing much here, may edit later. Read and enjoy.
Logan had trouble understanding people. Body language was not his forte, and he himself isn't known for being overly expressive. This, of course, leads to him being rather fascinated when he meets Patton. Patton is known for being this happy, upbeat figure in everyone's lives. He seems to wear his emotions on his sleeve and displays a wide variety of facial expressions depending on his mood. Logan finds comfort in not having to worry about what Patton is feeling, or what his micro expressions mean. Their worlds first collide when Patton is reading to preschoolers at Logan's favorite library and one conversation changes their lives as they know it. Is love possible for these two? Surely Patton's just as happy as he looks, right? What happens as they grow closer and learn more about the inner depths of each other's souls?
Updates hopefully weekly, every Monday. This is sort of a first look at the story; first chapter to be posted tomorrow 1-13-2025. My goal is at least 1000 words per chapter. Wish me luck lol. Main focus is Logicality, but there will also be focus on Prinxiety, Demus, and Remile.

LAMP Soulmate AU Bulletfic thing
Word Count: 2569
TW: Mentions and implications of abuse, mentions of anxiety, descriptions of panic attacks, mentions and implications of death + illness
They’re all connected in different ways
Virgil is connected to Patton through that thing where marks on your soulmate’s skin appear of yours too
Roman through a thing where on your eleventh birthday at 11:11pm a name will pop into your head and wow its your soulmate’s
And Logan through the string thing
Roman is connected to Patton through a timer on his wrist
And Logan through a tattoo-like mark on your wrist that says your soulmate’s first words to you
Logan and Patton are connected through a soulmark (A tattoo or raised pattern on your skin that is also on your soulmate)
Patton is blind
so in this au different soulmarkers develop at different ages
So when V’s little he’s super excited to meet his sm, bc his parents are soulmates and everything he’s seen abt them is so sweet and exciting!
He turns six and doesn’t develop a timer, which is what he was hoping for
But that’s ok! There are tons of other soulmarkers!
And then he doesn’t develop a soulmark when he’s seven
Or a sentence on his wrist when he’s eight
And he can see colours
So he’s starting to get nervous
And hey! Mom’s sick, and in the hospital, and she’s just not doing too swell
But then when he turns nine, a beautiful red string has been tied around his ring finger when he wakes up!
And wow! Mom look, I have a soulmate! Just like you and daddy!
And then a few months later he’s doing his homework at the kitchen table and the string goes limp before shriveling up and turning black
The doctors have no explanation, and V’s anxiety has really started to kick in
Mom doesn’t seem to be getting better either
So when he turns ten, he is fully aware that this is probably his last chance to develop a soulmarker
He writes on his forearm the night before his birthday
It says “Hey, I’m V! I guess we’re soulmates?”
When he wakes up there’s nothing new
Which is fine! Because that means his sm is probably in the same time zone as him!
But then he keeps waiting and
Nothing
Nothing for a week.
Eventually his dad convinces him to wash it off
Then on his eleventh birthday he knows how uncommon a soulname connection is, but he needs to try
So it’s 11:10 and he’s sitting at his desk with a marker ready to write it down and then-
Roman Prince
Roman prince? What do you mean Roman prince? That’s not a name! What the hell?!
So he’s really sad and anxious and stuff because he doesn’t have a soulmate and, yknow, that’s kinda upsetting for him
And hey, your mom really isn’t doing too well, we have to visit her after school, okay?
At first Virgil doesn’t understand why mom’s being so dramatic or why she keeps telling him she loves him
Then it hits him
And now he’s sobbing and hugging her and shaking and he can’t breathe he can’t breathe he can’t breathe
Fun fact! Turns out this is a regular thing and he has really bad anxiety.
And mom has been put in a medically induced coma
So a year later dad decides to pull the plug
Virgil’s anxiety has gotten really bad
He’s just not in a good place
High school goes by without much happening
Now he’s going to university! How exciting and stressful!
Roman, too, was entranced by the idea of soulmates. His parents aren’t soulmates, but they encourage his excitement about them!
And when he turns six, he develops a timer on his wrist! Score! What a romantic way to meet the love of your life!
Or friend of your life
His moms are so excited for him! They get him new paints and take him out to dinner to celebrate.
And then he wakes up on his eighth birthday to words on his right wrist
It says “If you could stop talking, it would be vastly appreciated.”
He’s a little pissed
His moms take him to the doctor bc “wtf why does he have TWO soulmarkers?!”
The answer is that he has two soulmates
It’s uncommon, but possible
So while he is ecstatic and ready to parade his soulmarkers around the school, his moms are a little less happy and a little more worried
They may have made the suggestion that he wears long sleeves most days, those ones that he hates because they will not roll up
But he did what they asked because they’re his moms, and he loves them very much
And then a few years later on his birthday he’s typing up a short story for school
It’s due the next day so he’s rushing through it a little bit
It’s still amazing
But anyways, he’s writing, and he suddenly just gets the name “Virgil Miller” stuck in his head
He doesn’t think anything of it bc he’s writing and that’s normal
He ends up naming the main character Virgil
Logan grows up in a bit of a run-down part of town
His Mami and Dad are soulmates (he doesn’t think they should be)
They fight a lot, and sometimes Dad’ll hurt Mami, especially at night when they think he’s asleep
And he’s heard Mami on the phone with his Tia, talking about court cases? And laws, and soulmates?
Needless to say, he isn’t all too enamoured with the idea of soulmates
When he’s seven he gets a soulmark, some bumps over his heart, which is a little distressing
He’s never met this person, but he’s supposed to spend his whole life with them?
He’s very scared that his soulmate will be like Dad
And then he develops the words “Bold of you to assume I can stop talking” on his right wrist
And then a string when he’s nine.
He doesn’t tell his parents about any of them. “Soulless” people existed, and he knew his Mami was hoping he was one of them.
And then later that year Mami sits him down and tells him that she’s going to live with his Tia until she can find her own apartment, and that she and Dad aren’t together anymore
Logan cries for a while, and tells her about all the things he’s heard, and the bruises he’s seen, and begs to go with her
Mami says she was hoping he would
His Dad finds out the day before they leave and he hits Logan
Multiple times
And when his Mami steps in, Dad scowls and yells and stomps away and Mami picks Logan up and they run to the car and leave
When they get to his Tia’s he hides in the guest bedroom they said is his and he takes a pair of scissors and
Snip snip, he’s 33% more “soulless”
He steals Mami’s concealer and puts it on his wrist everyday to cover the words there
The only one he doesn’t cover is the soulmark on his chest, which he almost never sees because of his shirt
Whenever anyone asks, he just tells them he’s soulless
He tries not to get too close to people, but he usually fails and so he has a very small, very tight friend group
Oh also he’s a grade ahead of his year
Patton’s family is very well off
He’s the oldest of four brothers
He’s trans, but his family is v supportive and helped him transition as soon as they found out
His service dog’s name is Cookie and she’s a golden retriever
He’s had her since he was eleven, and he loves her very much
Because he’s blind there’s certain things he didn’t know about growing up
For example, nobody told him about soulmates until he was nine
Which really explains the weird ticking he hears every once in a while, as well as the strange, tiny bumps on his chest (which spell out “Loved” in Braille)
He doesn’t think about it too often, but he’d be lying if the idea didn’t entrance him
He didn’t think he’d ever meet his soulmates, though, and if he did, he wasn’t sure they’d want the responsibility of a blind soulmate
On the day he turns ten, there’s this little tickling on his forearm, like butterflies gently taking off on him
He doesn’t really think anything of it, though
Despite being blind, Patton is super capable
He can’t cook by himself, but if he’s supervised he does a really good job. He’s the most prepared for “real life” out of his siblings, which is strange, considering he’s the oldest
He goes to public school, where most kids are really nice (sometimes antagonistically nice), but there were also some rude kids
“You don’t really need that walking stick, you’ve got a dog, and we need it to play our game!”
The amount of times he’s had to explain that no you dumbass I do still need the stick is ridiculous
But he keeps a smile on his face and forges through it
And then in grade eleven Roman’s studying in the hallway when he sees some kid being bullied
Well, not bullied, but definitely teased. Something was wrong, anyways
He’s been on edge all day because his timer keeps going down
But he’s not really thinking about it rn
So he goes over and gets the idiots to leave and
Holy hell did heaven drop an angel? They must have, because look at this boy with his golden hair and tanned skin and freckles and
Beep beep motherfucker. It’s soulmate o’clock
And Roman is just so happy
“H-hey, I’m Roman!” “Oh, hi, I’m Patton! Did… did your timer go off?” “Uh yeah! It did!”
And Patton
Just grins so wide and there’s tears, and he leaps up and hugs Roman so tight
And Roman is so freaking happy!!!! He asks Patton for his contact because duh and Pat’s like
“Uhhh well I can’t text”
“Why?”
“….. I’m blind?” “OHHHHHHH”
So they figure they can talk over the phone because Patton does have a phone for calling
So they have a cute first date and they fall in love and everything’s good and dandy and Roman’s going to college but Patton’s found this real nifty job that just so happens to be right next to Roman’s college so they move in together and Patton knows about Roman’s other sm and Roman knows about Patton’s other sm
And Roman’s in a lecture now
And he didn’t really notice but he’s been muttering
And he’s just kinda sitting there when he hears it from the guy next to him
So he looks up and here’s this ethereal looking dude with gorgeous brown eyes and dark hair and
“Bold of you to assume I can stop talking.”
He curses every known god for making his first words to his soulmate be a meme
They excuse themselves from class because holy shit
And Logan introduces himself shakily
And Roman asks for his number
And they go on a date where Roman tells him about Patton and Logan mentions having a soulmark over his heart
Logan is really hesitant to join their relationship bc he was hoping he would never meet his soulmates
So they don’t put a label on it right away
But they go on a few dates and hang out a bunch and Logan realizes that he actually really, really likes these guys and he doesn’t really want to live the rest of his life without them
So he talks to them and tells them about some of the stuff that happened when he was a kid
Roman and Patton are horrified but they hug him and promise that they will never lay a finger on him if he asks them not to
And Logan just has a moment of “These guys love me. Like actually love me. And want me to be happy. And I think I feel the same?”
So on their next date Logan asks both of them to be his boyfriends and obviously they say yes
And basically they’re just all really in love
They move into a bigger apartment together at the beginning of year two
So then they’re all cuddling one day when Logan tells them about his string
And so the other two are like “oh shit is there another???”
And Roman says that on his eleventh birthday he just suddenly had this name pop into his head but he just assumed he’d wanted the name for a character so
And Patton says that after getting his soulmark AND a timer he didn’t think to check for anything else
So they’re all kinda like well whoops let’s hope we still meet them!
And Patton’s at his job one day when this guy walks in and he’s one of the new employees
Pat’s got his seeing eye doggo with him but the vest is off cuz they’re both on break
And so V’s like “oh cool dog can I pet him?”
Bc usually he would never just go up and ask but he literally can’t stop himself because here’s this adorable dude in front of him and the universe is screeching at him to say hi
And Pat hears his voice and immediately falls in love
“Oh, yea sure! She’s my eye dog, but she’s on break so it’s all good!”
And V meets Pat and his dog
And they end up exchanging numbers because they are coworkers and well
Yknow
So a couple days later, after him and Patton have been talking a lot, Pat invites him over
So V goes over and meets Roman and Logan
And he hears Roman’s name and
Holy shit
And of course Roman is also freaking out because the name Virgil just really hasn’t left his head since he thought of it
So yknow
Logan’s a little unsure, but then the two get talking about astronomy and he doesn’t care if they’re not soulmates he is going to marry this guy
And they all get really close really fast
And then one day Virgil offhandedly mentions the string thing
And Logan freezes and just
Shows V his right ring finger, where they can both see this rotting string that’s still tied tight around it and
Fuck V can’t breathe are you kidding? right now?
So they help ground him, and Logan explains everything
And Roman tells him what’s up
But they’re not really sure how he’s connected to Patton but then he just
Grabs a marker and draws a heart on his hand and
It’s right there on Patton’s hand holy s h i t
So they take Virgil on a date and stuff and they make it official
And Virgil’s a little nervous bc like those three have been together for a while now and he feels like he’s intruding
But he talks to Logan and L understands bc Roman and Patton had been dating for 2+ years when he found them
He promises that V is not intruding and that they all really love him
And Virgil just full on starts crying because he hasn’t felt this loved since before his mom died and he loves his bfs so much
They find their bfs and just cuddle all night
Virgil moves in with the rest of them at the beginning of third year
They get their happily ever after for the most part
Hopefully y’all liked this! I think I’ll be posting more writing on here, bc I have TONS of wips stacked up in a google docs and I’d like to get them out of there lmao

Oblivious: A fragment
I am currently writing a Logicality fic as part of a prompt from @shadycomputerduck
Will be uploaded in the next 2 weeks or so.
If anyone wants to be tagged, comment on this post saying so, please.
Here’s a little piece of the chapter.
Summary: Logan’s having a conversation with Virgil, after he’s realised he’s in love with Patton, and he’s in panic. (Transcriptions of the screenshots are included in the end)
Oblivious: A fragment
Virgil Class. He glanced at the name on the screen, reminding himself, once again, that he ought to delete the ‘class’, it had stayed there since first year of highschool, when they met. Virgil and him didn’t share a class anymore, it was completely unnecessary to maintain the clarification. Nevertheless, he’d grown fond of the contact name.
Just as he’d grown fond of Patton. Maybe enamoured even.
He’d rather not ponder on that for the reminder of the night, not if he wanted to have any hope of falling asleep.
Emotions were quite a ridiculous thing.

I dont think Logan is going to become the Orange Side.
now here me out.
Logan's getting to his breaking point, has been lashing out more, and the orange eyes thing. These are all good points for why he could be turning.
BUT
CONSIDER
all of the Dark Sides have some special aspect of control, right?
Virgil can drown out everyone else's voice.
Janus can quite literally shut people up (yes he can disguise as others, but the other sides can do that too).
Remus' aura of effect is a bit less clean cut, but he appears to be able to effect how the sides think/perceive things.
So what if the Orange Side can just, lash out through people?
Someone else pointed out (i can't find the post forgive me) that rage/wrath is something that can very easily take over a person, so what if its something of that nature? The Orange Side is just using Logan's existing aggravation and exploiting it?
