ManTalks Chicago - Valentines Day Edition is right around the corner and I'd like to highlight another one of our incredible speakers. Dennis Rodkin has been covering Chicago residential real estate and architecture since 1991 and discovered that from the 1850s through the 2010s, many Chicagoans have publicly challenged, moved or flouted the social norms of sexual expression. When researching the histories of an old mansion, he would stumble across some odd tale of the original residents. These kinds of tidbits, which don't fit into a story on the house itself, go into a file of odd trivia. About six years ago, he turned many of these tidbits into a Sexual History Map of Chicago for a special issue about Sex in Chicago magazine, where he worked at the time. There was only room for about half of what he had and so about three years later, he decided to turn it into a walking tour.
