"so i cry and i pray for you to love me, love me, say that you love me."
♡ character: damian wayne x reader
♡ pronouns used: she / her
♡ note: not checked for grammar or spelling mistakes / hiiii ik i haven't updated in a while but like life bro lmao anyway im trying to find a new job bc a bitch needs money so like big girl stuff happening around here anywayyyyyy here is a blurb/drabble thing i kinda made it up on the fly so sorry if it's shitty
your rose gold dress was dragging against the floor as you were going around from league member to league member introducing yourself on the behalf of black canary. the annual JLA gala was one with a bunch of uppity superheroes and their sidekicks trying to get on everyone's good side which did not interest you at all.
your domino mask was not comfortable at all, nevertheless, it clashed with your very expensive dress. you knew dinah would have liked you to make your rounds with everyone but you were not interested in making friends with anyone that you weren't with usually.
you had been looking for jon or jaime but you figured that they must have gotten dragged around the gala by batman or even superman for things they didn't want to do themselves.
as you approached the snack table, you noticed the R patch standing right in front of you. you had yet to met the infamous robin and although you figured that batman was going to need your assistance in the teen titans one day in the not so distant future, you assumed that your first encounter with the boy wonder would be there.
you handed robin the drink he was looking for and smiled, "figured it beat having to reach across the table for it," the boy gave you a smirk, instantly making your face warm up, "(sidekick name) right? canary's righthand woman?" you nodded, "interesting way of meeting each other," you replied.
robin chuckled as you heard jaime finally scream your name frantically from the other side of the room, "sorry for cutting this short, duty calls when your dumbass best friend is calling for you," you stated as you grabbed your dress and darted to where jaime was.
damian swirled his drink around for a moment before grabbing his phone. he knew bruce hated when he was on his phone but he never thought that canary's sidekick was this....cute. damian also knew everyone's name, no thanks to bruce, so he knew it wasn't going to be too difficult to retrieve your information.
damian had found your instagram which was public and immediately scrolled through it. he found what was normal for girls your age. pictures with you and your sorority friends in some and others showed pictures of you and your family.
as damian continued to scroll he noticed the eye twitch he'd get when he saw a photo of you and a guy friend with his hand a bit too tight on your upper thigh. he knew that he didn't have any reason to get even slightly jealous, however; it wasn't a secret that whatever damian liked he eventually got.
he chuckled at the picture he saw of you looking up at dinah as you hugged her with a simple heart as the caption. damian knew that you weren't stupid enough to give off any real connection that you had to dinah but he figured that you must've wanted to appreciate for taking you under her wing.
damian made his way to where you were with jaime, bart, jon, and a few others. you were leaning against the bar, having a beer with jaime and jon as jon was the first to notice him.
"hey robin, fancy seeing you here with the rest of us mere mortals," he joked. it wasn't very common to see damian with the rest of the titans and young justice team. he was usually glued to batman's side as it was his duty to fulfill any questions he had of his own but he figured that since had taken an interest with you, one night like this wouldn't be so bad.
jon followed damian's eye trajectory and chuckled in amusement.
"shooting for the big leauges, huh?" jon asked. damian looked over to him so he could elaborate, "canary's sidekick is a very popular girl to say the least. the media loves her, i can't begin to explain how man lovesick letters i've had to sort through from her fans, and the league themselves love her. plus, i've noticed that a lot of our teammates are very interested in getting to know her, if you get what i'm saying."
damian scoffed, "and i'm damian wayne so lets see how that fairs for everyone else," jon knew damian was as cocky as they came but he knew that his confidence was on another level and what he wanted he usually got whether it meant getting his hands dirty for it or not.
the lights in the roomed had dimmed as he noticed that you were now by yourself with a wine glass between your fingers. damian fixed his tie as jon dusted his best friends shoulders off in encouragement. jon was always ready to support his best friend in anyway that he could even if that meant slightly sabotaging his other friend's chances with you in the process.
you were sipping your red wine as damian approached you cooly, "hey robin! nice seeing you again!" he smiled slightly as he took your cheap wine and set it on the table and handed another one for you to tase, "a red wine from napa, 1909 to be specific," your eyes widened as you took a sip.
"it's slightly bitter but it's pretty good," you replied as you took another drink, "thank you for this, i didn't think i'd be getting any kind of drinks from anyone tonight," you added on.
damian put his shoulder against the wall as he noticed how he practically towered over you, "do you think i could have this dance with you?" he asked as he heard the next song start to play.
you were shocked to say the least.
you knew how hard it was to get on robin's good graces and you had practically done nothing to achieve it. the song was slow and he took your hand softly as he led you to the dance floor.
thankfully, the room was dark enough to where others wouldn't notice that it was him dancing, "thank you for asking me. i didn't think i was interesting enough to get a dance from thee boy wonder tonight," damian laughed, "the pleasure is all mine. i didn't think canary had such an interesting protege,"
"i can't say i'm that interesting, i'm still working my way up the league ladder," you replied. damian scoffed, "it won't take long to make you an official hero," he stated, "with someone of your strength and abilities alone, i can imagine you'll be called up in no time."
you giggled excitedly as damian spun you around and had you face him but closer now, "but before that happens i guess i'll teach you the ropes," he whispered, "and can i ask what that might include?" you asked.
damian lifted your chin and stared at you with his emerald eyes.
"i think i can give you a taste test before the exam approach."
damian was never this straight forward, especially when it came to other league members and their sidekicks but he knew what jon said was correct. it didn't take an idiot to realize how loved you were by everyone and he knew his competition, mainly jaime and connor, could easily win you over so he did the only thing he knew to do in a situation like this, act like his playboy billionaire father as much as he could and from what he could tell, he was on the right track.

"i think gotham university is actually the worst but it's cheap and gives me the degree without having too many student loans," you said as you stirred your iced coffee. being a senior in college, all the consumed your life was finishing off your last year strong and trying to pay off your debts as soon as you could, "so does that mean you won't be coming to the party?"
you gave your friend an eyeroll, "my love, what kind of 24 year old rolls up to a frat party? no less on a Tuesday night? some of the boys there will probably try to get laid just so they can say they had a night with a cougar," you and your friend instantly started laughing, "but i am willing to go to that bar this weekend!"
just as you started getting up get to refill your coffee, you noticed a man standing in front of you. you knew he was a professor here but you didn't know for which department. you gave him a small smile as a hello and deciding just to pour your coffee without saying much.
you were pouring your ice into your cup and minding your business when you noticed that Dr.Crane dropped his own coffee on the bar. you quickly took out a stack of napkins, instantly helping him clean up. the coffee was searing hot which made you realize that you were burning your hand in the process.
"fuck, that hurts!" you whispered. Dr.Crane immediately pulled your hand back, "here, let me see," he said as he analyzed your now red hand. it was burning and your hand started to bubble up from the heat, "we're going to have ointment on that as soon as possible. you're going to need to come with me."
you were a bit thrown off by how blunt he was being however you knew Dr.Crane was known for being a bit stand offish. he wasn't the kind of professor that everyone got along with or even went to his office to talk too.
he dragged you off to his office, immediately pulling out his emergency aid kit and started the healing process. you sat back, texting your friend to pack your things off and leaving it in front of his office. you didn't say a word as he was murmuring to himself, "this might sting so brace yourself," he whispered.
you instantly shot up in pain, trying not to yell but the pain of the ointment made you grab his arm and squeeze it. he chuckled as you were trying to show that you weren't in pain however it was very evident that your pain tolerance was not that high.
"you did well for someone that just had rubbing alcohol rubbed into an open wound," you gave him a weary smile before he started placing a bandage wrap on your hand, "so, what's your major?" he asked jumping into a completely different conversation.
"early education! I want to be a preschool teacher!" he hummed in interest, "love children?" you shook your head in agreement, "i love teaching them however to have some of my own is not really my gist," he nodded, "that should do it. keep the bandage on until Saturday and after that, you should place some more healing ointment on it but let the wound breathe. you don't need it to get infected."
"thank you so much Dr.Crane," he brushed you off, "it's not your fault. I was the one who dropped coffee on the bar." he helped you up from the chair and opened the door, "what is your name?"
you gave him your name as you shook his hand with your bandaged one, "you're welcomed into my office at any time." that was all he said before walking away into the next hallway. you didn't know what he meant by that but you didn't think too much into it. you grabbed your things and rubbed your bandages as you started to walk away from his office.
+
Saturday night came around as you were getting dressed for the night. you were meeting your friends at a bar not too far from your apartment. you were wearing a tennis skirt and a tank top to battle the heat that was still lingering in Gotham. you knew that you were bound to regret it since the bar all of you wanted to go to was a bit more on the expensive side and probably had the air conditioning cranked all the way up.
you pulled on your shoes and went to meet your friends in front of the bar. as you were waiting for them to arrive, you noticed a couple of men entering. you could have sworn one of them looked like Dr.Drane but you figured that couldn't be Dr.Crane. he didn't seem like the bar attending type.
"hey, isn't that Dr.Crane from the psychology department?" one of you friends said later into the night. you turned around and true to her word, Dr.Crane and two other men were sitting down at the bar, sipping on what looked like whiskey. you could have sworn that he was staring at you but you shook that feeling away, "I think it is. I could've sworn I saw him earlier but didn't think that was actually him."
you wanted to get another drink but suddenly, you felt a bit nervous approaching the bar. you could sense Dr.Cranes very blue eyes now starting to look at you but the urge to get another beer was calling your name.
one of your friends noticed how you were drinking a bit more but as soon as she saw the professor staring at you, it all connected.
"oh, you're scoring high, aren't you?" she asked laughing. you shook your head no, "that's a professor at the university I attend. I might a bit desperate but not that desperate."
"what are the chances that Crane has the hots for you,-" "very likely as he is coming over here with two glasses of wine in his hand."
your eyes widened, not knowing what to do. you admittedly tried to fix your hair as he approached your table, "I figured it'd be polite to bring you a glass of wine before I whisked you away from your friends," he said handing it over to you, "I just wanted to ask how your hand healed."
your friends instantly moved away from the table, "if I remember telling you correctly, you could have removed the bandage today," he stated. you chuckled awkwardly, "uh, I got scared and figured I'd have a friend help me in case I needed it rebandaged. he's a pre-med student so I knew I could trust him."
"scared? of a little burn? come on, let me help you."
you didn't say a thing and let him take the lead. he grabbed your hand and unwrapped it, sensing that your hand was shaking a bit. he examined the now healed wound. a burn mark that he was sure was going to scar but other than that, nothing to be concerned of.
"ah, as I suspected. not much besides scarring. once you get home, apply more healing ointment," you nodded in agreement, "thank you Dr.Crane," he chuckled lowly, "i'm not at work, please call me Jonathan."
"thank you a lot Jonathan-," "come sit with my friends and I."
you wanted to protest but you didn't see your friends in the same spot anymore. they had all wandered off with men they saw to hang out with for the night. you swore to yourself that you'd end up punching them for leaving you alone with Jonathan for the night.
"oh, of course. I hope I'm not intruding," you whispered. Jonathan shook his head, "not at all." you walked up to his friends who seemed to be whispering to each other until you walked up.
"this is my lovely companion ( your name). ( your name ), these are my partners who work alongside me at Arkham. Jervis Tetch and Edward Nashton."
you gave them a smile and shook their hands, "it's a pleasure," you said. Jervis placed a kiss on the back of your hand, "no, pleasure is all mine," he said.
Jonathan raised an eyebrow as his friend indicating to back off. you sat next to Jonathan as the three talked about various different things. you didn't care to speak up as the wine you were drinking was enough enjoyment.
"so, you attend Gotham University? what is your degree in?" Edward suddenly asked you. you perked up a bit, "oh! early childhood education. intending to be a preschool teacher!"
"interesting, developing the minds of young children, how sweet," he replied. you nodded as you didn't catch the wink that Edward sent Jonathan's way, "yeah! it's fun being around all of them and being able to teach them the fundamentals of life!"
you got up, excusing yourself to get another glass of wine as the three men all watched you leave.
"I understand why she became of interest. pretty little thing, isn't she?" Jervis asked. Jonathan agreed, "with a little help from Jervis, I'm sure she'll be a great help with all of our plans."
Jonathan needed a partner. not so much of romance, although he didn't mind if that's how it worked out with you, but with someone who could help him get Gotham under his ruling. there were certain characteristics that intrigued him about you and after doing extensive research on you, he knew you'd be the perfect one.
you were dancing to the music that was playing in the bar as you awaited your wine. he went up to you as the lights dimmed down and the music got louder.
"no one is here to watch us dance with the lights now being lowered. mind?" now with the buzz of the alcohol in your system, you agreed and followed him to the floor. you were dancing against him as he remained as stiff as a board.
you didn't seem to care as he knew that him acting out a bit ridiculously was only temporary. through his research, he knew you were a party girl in your early 20s. your social medias didn't hide it and the photos you were tagged in seemed like you had a bit of a promiscuous side to you as well.
"you're a gorgeous girl, how come your out here without a partner," you shrugged in response, "romance never seemed to find me." he chuckled as bent down to your ear, "even though it is against policy that professors have any kind relationship with a pupil, I did see that you are in your last year."
you nodded in agreement as he noticed that your eyes had gotten lowered due to the alcohol, "so does that mean you want to see me after this?" he hummed in agreement, "way more than you realize." you giggled cutely as you turned around and faced him.
his glasses were fogged due to how warm the bar was.
"well I can't say that I'm opposed to that idea," you whispered. he smirked as he realized Jervis' power must've been working, "I love that you're on board with the idea." his hands found your thighs as he rubbed them.
you giggled once again as you smashed your lips against his. you didn't care if this landed back in your car or your place but the higher his hands went, the warmer your face got. your tongue was fighting against his as your breath quickened up.
"how about we take this back to my house?" you nodded excitedly as Jervis and Edward noticed that Jonathan's plan went onto succeed, "I guess we're no longer needed?" Jervis asked Edward. he nodded as he chuckled, "ever the ladies man, isn't he?" Edward responded.
the two friends shook their heads in disbelief as they noticed you hanging off of Jonathan's side, placing kisses on his next as his hand remained rubbing against your thigh.

"if you are not too long, i will wait here for you all my life. “
♡ character: zack sabre jr
♡ pronouns used: she / her
♡ note: not checked for grammar or spelling mistakes / hiiii ik i haven't updated in a while i was just lazy but ig im back and employed now!! and i'm also wildly obsessed with zack sabre jr at the moment so heres a throwback to forbidden door. might be a bit short but its whatever.
Tumblr media
"zack, ive done my time in japan, AEW seems like a great opportunity for me," you told him, seeing his face dropping and looking at the ground, "you knew i didn't have much time on my contract and i wasn't planning on staying."
zack sighed, not knowing what to respond with. he didn't want to sound selfish nor did he think you were in the wrong but he couldn't imagine a time where you weren't with him. the two of you came to japan together, spent each of your time working respectfully in Stardom and New Japan.
"i know but maybe i thought you'd stay if i asked," you smiled, sitting next to him and putting your head on his shoulder, "remember our pact? if neither of us were in relationships by the time we hit our mid thirties we'd just marry each other? i stand by that."
he laughed, shoving you playfully.
"you're no where near thirty but maybe i'll marry you the next time i see you."
this time it was your turn to laugh. you knew zack liked to joke around with you but sometimes it was hard to decipher if what he was saying was true or not, "please, like you haven't been eyeballing. i heard stories from maki," you replied, now getting up and stealing the jacket off of his chair, "but maybe i'll let you marry me the next time you come to the states. i guess we'll see."
giving him one final wink, you walked away and shut the door slowly. you could see zack's saddened face and a part of you wanted to go back and just hug him but you knew that if you lingered around any longer, the goodbye would get even harder.
“if you are not too long, i will wait here for you all my life."
you heard the mutter from zack and tried to contain your tears.
+
it had been three years since your departure from Stardom and you had been running around AEW since then. you had your fair share of feuds with britt, penelope, and nyla but currently, you were in a feud with rosa for the AEW women's belt.
you had secured a match for the forbidden door pay-per-view against rosa and while you were happy to fight against her on such a big stage, you had heard rumblings about who from New Japan was going to make their way to the states to wrestle your co-workers and one of the names going around was zack.
you talked to zack every now and again but it was nothing like how it was before. you hadn't heard from any of the girls in Stardom if zack was in a relationship but you couldn't say the same. you had been in a few relationships since departing from japan but none of them ever lasted.
the only one that lasted a bit longer than the rest was with maxwell jacob friedman but that was only because you joined the pinnacle when they formed which not only made you his girlfriend but his valet as well. during your time with max made many people wonder why you were even with him. one of those people was zack who was beyond shocked to see the way you acted with him. it wasn't anything like how you were in japan and frankly, it made his stomach stir each time you were visibly making out with max.
"guess what i heard," penelope said singing into your ear. you looked up from your latop in confusion, "zack is in building," your eyes widened in shock as you heard kip giggling behind her, "it's not funny to lie especially when i'm on next."
penelope shook her head, "i'm not lying! kip was speaking to him earlier. he's very interested in seeing you again." before you could respond, you felt rosa's arm go around your shoulder, "lets go! we're next."
you gave one final look to penelope who kept muttering that she wasn't lying. you knew penelope would never lie to you but you hadn't seen zack since you arrived got to the building which was a lot earlier than most did.
rosa went onto the ramp first getting heavy cheers from everyone as you cracked your neck in anticipation. the two of you weren't due to wrestle but more or less rough each other up. you were wearing you SPLX sweater, the exact same one you stole from zack, and blue jeans. it wasn't your most stylish outfit in comparison to rosa but you knew it would do the job.
"breath, maybe what penelope told you was just to mess around with you," you whispered as you heard your theme going off. you went out of the heel tunnel, a smirk plastered on your face, "oh fuck off you dickheads!" you yelled.
you walked slower than usual into the ring as you made sure to give rosa as much time as possible to get herself comfortable on her side of the ring. you blew one final kiss as rosa cut you off and immediately starting her promo.
you chewed your gum obnoxiously, something that would make matt menard proud. you knew this would be last time you'd face rosa before forbidden door and you had to perfect your promo more than ever.
"oh rosa, it's really embarrassing that you're standing her not being able to compete at the rate britt was when she had the title. you should consider handing the belt over to me now so you don't embarrass yourself on Sunday. you've never been against a submission master like myself before and it'd really suck to see you injured after our match so like i said i'm willing to take the belt off of you and we can call it even, alright?"
rosa laughed as she tossed the belt to the side.
"submission master? that's a funny name to call yourself considering the only person who's had that name is zack sabre jr himself and he's not here right now so how about you stop embarrassing him. we all know how happy he was when you left him and its even more embarrassing that you're walking around here in his clothes three years later!"
your eyes widened as you dove to attack her. you went for her legs immediately you put her in a submission hold making her cry out in agony. it wasn't until you heard a very familiar theme song go off through the speakers making you look up when you realized that the rumors were true.
the crowd went nuts as you stared at zack making his way through the heel tunnel. you stared at him not believing that this was the way he would make his AEW debut and not with bryan who you assumed would be the one he was going against.
you kicked rosa one final time as she rolled out of the ring. you stood in the middle of it and continued to stare down at him, disbelief written all over your face. zack made his way towards the ring, making sure to spew insults at the crowd before finally climbing in and standing in front of you.
everyone in the building went quiet as you felt your body jerk forward to hug zack. the entire crowd started to boo as you felt him laughing against you. you knew that zack wasn't exactly someone who would be hurt with this reaction but you could see that he was holding you tighter than usual.
zack finally pulled himself back and held your hand up as your theme went off. you wanted nothing more than to curse zack out for not telling you he'd be here but you knew you'd have more than enough time to do it backstage. he opened the ropes to help you out of the ring and as you gave one final middle finger to the crowd, zack stood behind you clapping proudly.
as the two of you reached the back, you immediately jumped on him and shoved your face in his shoulder, "you asshole, why didn't you tell me?" you screamed into it. zack patted your back, "had to make sure you still weren't with that dickhead maxwell before i reunited with you."
you could see penelope and kip watching you from afar as they muttered an, "i told you". you paid them no mind as you continued to hug zack, "i missed you so much," you whispered in his ear as you now let your tears fall freely. he could feel the wetness of the tears on his shirt as he hugged your closer.
once you finally pulled away, zack wiped the tears away before pulling you into a more secluded corner.
"i couldn't tell you because i was practically sworn to secrecy until i got into the building," he finally explained. you smiled at him weakly when you realized that he would only be here for about a week until he had to return to japan, "you're leaving after Sunday, aren't you?" you murmured sadly.
zack nodded as he grabbed your hand, "i don't want to but my contract isn't up with new japan yet. if i could stay here just to be with you, i'd do it in a heartbeat," he replied. you closed your eyes, not wanting to cry again but you knew that it was useless to grow closer to him again when he'd have to return just as quickly as he came.
"fuck, this forbidden door bullshit really screwed us up, didn't it?" you joked, wiping away your tears again. zack nodded as he realized that the gift he had in your pocket felt like it was burning him from the anticipation, "remember the last thing we told each other before you left?"
you remained confused for a few seconds until zack went down on one knee when you finally realized what he was speaking about. you saw him pull out a tiny silver ring from his pocket.
"i told you i'd marry you the next time i saw you so how about we go through with it? nothing is stopping us from running to some random officiant and getting married after this," your mouth fell from surprise but you nodded almost immediately, "lets do it," you whispered as he put the ring on your finger.
you went up for a steaming kiss with no intention of releasing him anytime soon. zack felt your fingers running through his hair and let you continue to kiss him until he was out of breath.
"maybe i'll have to ask for an excursion run here in amerca just to spend more time with you," zack whispered against your lips. you giggled, "or maybe i'll be the one to go to you. i know they're doing the princess of princess championship soon and i could see if i can contend for it."
zack's smile widened even more as he spun you around in excitement, "Well lets go mrs.sabre, we have a lot of things to do tonight," he said holding your hand and twirling the ring around your finger.
you nodded, giving him one final kiss on the lips before finding penelope. you knew you'd need a witness and possibly someone to vouch for you when the news inevitably got out that you married zack.

"this changes nothing....i'm still me, even if i'm with you"
♡ character: octavian / heroes of olympus
♡ pronouns used: she / her
♡ note: not checked for grammar or spelling mistakes / a bit ooc but i'm obsessed with the idea of enemies to lover with this idiot
Tumblr media
"reyna, don't do this to me. you're sending us on a quest together? are you trying to torture us?" you asked with desperation, "should i not be offended by that? because it feels like i should be," octavian said giving you a dirty look.
you rolled your eyes.
"it won't be for that long. three days tops! we just need to make sure what we're up against if the threat gets bigger," she explained. you whined while stomping your feet like a child, "it won't be as bad as you expect and you're some of our strongest fighters," she tried to say enthusiastically.
you sighed before agreeing. you could tell octavian wasn't too hot the idea either but you knew that you both as a team were very hard to beat when it came to combat. reyna also knew you were the only one who could be around octavian longer than anyone else at the camp.
"where are we going?" you asked. she gave you another half-enthusiastic smile, "wisconsin," you and octavian stared at each other before shaking your heads no, "it's the middle of december! we'll freeze up there!" you screamed.
reyna shook her head no, "we got you covered on all of that. seriously! the quest won't be that long and you'll be back in california before you know it!" octavian scoffed, not believing the circumstances of the quest you both were sent on.
wisconsin in the freezing december cold was not meant for camp jupiter kids. all of you were accustomed to the warm california weather at all times and being sent to the depths of the midwest sounded like a nightmare to anyone at camp jupiter.
"well, i guess we should prepare, shouldn't we?" you said as you walked back awkwardly with the sickly looking octavian. you never understood why octavian looked so frail all the time but you figured it must've been a punishment from apollo. none of the descendants of apollo were as rude or angry as octavian was and maybe you figured this was his payback.
he nodded as you soon realized that the two of you had to be out and ready for the journey by the morning. you knew reyna trusted you and octavian the most. both of you were some of the strongest in the camp and although octavian clearly wasn't her favorite person in the world, she knew that he'd protect your life even if it meant losing his in the process.
reyna was tried to be insistent on keeping romance out of the camp until all kids got out of high school. now that you and octavian were adults and running the camp along with her, she knew of the prophecy that had been given to octavian way before he could understand what it meant. octavian was bound to you before either of you knew each other even existed. venus had her weird ways of working and she could sense how close your souls were attached to each others.
everyone knew octavian was the problem child of the apollo descendants but you were one of the very few who wouldn't tolerate how octavian was. you two would argue but not in the way he would scream at others. that wasn't to say that you were meant solely for octavian. being the daughter Juno, you were stronger than most which is why reyna trusted you so much when she wasn't available and needed a second hand.
reyna had fought you before and every time she did, you were closer and closer to actually taking her spot. it wasn't an easy fight however. the two of you would walk out of each sparring session as though both of you were mauled by animals.
as the night rolled in and you were in bed, you couldn't help but roll in your covers through discomfort. you weren't a nervous person when it came to quests but something about this quest was different and you couldn't figure out why. you soon came to the conclusion that you weren't going to get a decent sleep and remained in bed, looking at the ceiling.
eventually the bright california sun shined through your cohort. you figured the faster you started the quest, the faster you'd return from the freezing cold. you had packed everything you needed the night before and all you had to do was wait for octavian to show up.
as you waited by the front of the camp, you could see octavian arguing with reyna about something. you couldn't make out what it was but from the looks of it, it seemed pretty serious.
"come on! i'm tired, annoyed, and hungry!" you screamed. they turned over to you as octavian started to slowly make his way towards you. reyna stared at octavian, a look on her face insinuating to not mess this up, "see in a few days!" you screamed to reyna before turning to octavian.
"well, let's get this damn thing going," you stated.
+
it took about a day to finally reach your destination. to both of your luck, the city of where the supposed threat wasn't small enough where it would give up any of your demigod abilities. the city of milwaukee was big and you could tell that if you weren't here on a quest, it'd be a fun city to explore.
"we should check out where reyna had mentioned the gang was at," you told octavian. he nodded staring down at the directions he had planned, "well, we were told that we shouldn't attack. there's more of them than us and we don't need to walk out of here dead."
you agreed as you looked down to his notes. the gang of lowlife damigods trying to wreck havoc to innocent civilians was enough to catch the attention of camp jupiter. you had no idea if they were enough of a threat to call godly attention but for the time being, you figured you could try and figure out what their plan was.
the gang was supposedly located downtown but when you arrived, you noticed that the 'gang' was only a few stupid teenagers. you stared at octavian in disbelief, "this is the gang that caused us to travel from california?" you murmured inside of your jacket.
octavian chuckled, "guess so. perhaps reyna miscalculated the threat?" he asked. you shrugged, "maybe but this doesn't seem like something reyna miscalculate on accident," you replied. the two of you noticed the four boys using their stronger than normal physical strength and relied the message to reyna as the only active threat for the moment.
the two of you kept an eye of them, not really noticing anything too out of the ordinary. you were sitting down against a wall with octavian to your left. being that it was december and the holiday season was in swing, you could hear the music playing from the shopping centers down the street.
"christmas was always my favorite holiday before i moved to camp jupiter," you murmured to octavian. his eyebrow went up in wonder, "i mean, before i realized i was a demigod and my dad died, christmas music was something i blasted on november first."
octavian nodded, "i never celebrated it before," your eyes widened in surprise, "wait, really? right, you've been at camp jupiter ever since you could remember. it's a nice holiday, even if you don't celebrate it religiously. the music and food served around this time is amazing," you explained, "gingerbread flavored coffee and the cookies dunked in milk is immaculate. you should really get out more octavian. being trapped inside camp jupiter all the time can really take a toll on someone and you're missing out on a lot of stuff."
"you can't miss what you've never experienced and the life most of you have lived is not something i ever experienced," he replied. your eyes widened at the way octavian was making himself become vulnerable, "all i've known in life was camp jupiter and i don't think it'll ever change."
you shook your head, "don't say that. maybe one day you'll fall in love," you joked. octavian's heart stop for half a second it felt like. octavian knew that you were basically clueless on a lot of the prophecy that was given to him as a kid and he didn't feel right just springing that onto you.
"i feel like we should just call it a day. its clear that they aren't a threat at least not today and we shouldn't freeze our asses off unless....," you looked down the street to see the busy downtown area. it was filled with kids ice skating in a small pond and couples walking through different stores getting their last minute christmas shopping done, "wanna check out the cool stuff?"
you knew you couldn't count on octavian to do a lot of things that weren't up to standard with camp jupiter rules so it came off as a surprise when he agreed.
the two of you walked away from the alley and walked to the street that was completely blocked off stands that were selling different things. you both snuck in through a back entrance and swiped some wristbands when realized that this seemed like a market or fair.
"how can people just stand here in the cold and sell things for hours? it's like twenty degrees out!" you screamed. you wrapped the purple camp jupiter cardigan closer as you pulled up the hood of the unzipped jacket, "when you leave in these conditions i guess it's easier to adapt to the weather."
you nodded in agreement as you both approached the first stand, "why are all these stands here for?" you asked the lady in front of you. she gave you a confused look, "its the december stand fair. with wristbands both of you have, you get to try all of the food and drinks offered here."
you stared at octavian in excitement, "ready to try mortal food?" you joked. octavian rolled his eyes in fake annoyance, "would you like to try my infamous christmas bread? it's made with almonds and the best buttery bread you can find here."
the both of you took a sample of the yellow loaf of bread and stuffed it in your mouth, "these are amazing, my goodness!" you exclaimed to octavian as he agreed. you thanked the lady as you grabbed octavian's wrist and dragged him to the next interesting stand.
"try our famous christmas cold brew! it's infused with spicy ginger! "our world renowned christmas brownies has won three state awards, please give it a try!"
by the time you and octavian finished with all the stands, the two of you were beyond stuffed. you and octavian had finished off the fair with two large cups of hot chocolate while sitting down at a bench and enjoying the music that was playing.
"this is the most fun i've had in months," you told octavian with a smile brighter than he had ever saw, "i could say the same. the mortal world isn't too bad. it's better than being around those greek idiots," he replied.
octavian saw the lyrics of the song that was playing and couldn't help but try and sing along to it. being the descendant of apollo meant that it was fairly quick to follow along to any song or instrument that was put in front of them.
"i'm dreaming tonight of a place i love, even more than i usually do. and although i know it's a long road back, i promise you i'll be home for christmas. you can count on me, please have snow and mistletoe and presents by the tree."
your eyes widened at how well octavian was singing to the song. you had never heard him sing before but you figured that because of who he was related too, his ability to sing was a lot better than others. octavian on the other hand felt his face flush to a slight red shade.
"octavian, you're an amazing singer, holy shit," you whispered. he chuckled nervously, "i'm alright. it's one of the only weaknesses i'll ever admit too," he replied. you waved him off, "octavian, that's not a weakness, you're amazing! how come you've never sang like that back at camp?"
"i'd never let those idiots hear that. they aren't worthy of hearing it" he stated. you growled in annoyance, "octavian, seriously! your voice is insane. are you sure you've never heard that song?" he shook his head no, "apollo really gifted you the power of singing for you never to sing publicaly? you're insane for that."
the song continued as you watched all the couples dancing to the song slowly, "do you ever think of how it must feel to be in love? it's not really something i've ever wanted desperately but the feeling of just being in love sounds nice," you whispered in slight embarrassment.
"i guess but who doesn't think about that? it's not unnatural to want to fall in love. venus picks who she thinks is worthy of it," he replied. octavian stared at you as you were now looking up to him. with the snow falling down on your hair and the blow of the wind making you laugh at how it was thrashing octavian's hair everywhere, he could sense a bit of what apollo prophesied to him as a kid.
you weren't doing anything that made him nervous or agitated yet his heart was racing a mile a minute. octavian continued to stare at you almost as if he was mesmerized. when you finally realized that he was still looking down at you, that was when a voice practically screamed at him to kiss you.
he grabbed you roughly by the face and brought you in for a kiss. you were caught off guard for a moment but you quickly came back to reality and pulled away for a moment, "woah," you whispered. he nodded, "sorry, something gave me urge to do that," you replied. you shook your head, "don't apologize."
you brought him in for another kiss, this time a lot softer and more tame. you placed your hands on his face, kind of smushing his cheeks together as he reluctantly followed your lead.
"this changes nothing....i'm still me, even if i'm with you," octavian murmured with his lips still against yours, "shut up. you're going to ruin the moment," you replied making him laugh before bringing him in for another kiss.
maybe reyna's miscalculation wasn't all bad after all.

you looked to reyna, your eyes blinking rapidly as she had mentioned that your ex boyfriend, yes, ex boyfriend was making a stop to camp jupiter from the east coast. you hadn't seen him since he moved over camps and a part of you was not ready to see him again. you left on a semi-sour note and she knew that.
"oh come on, it's been two years and you still can't confront him? kind of sad isn't it? i know it's because you still love him," she replied. you gave her an unenthusiastic look but continued to kick the rock that was near you, "shut up, i have kids to train and if you better not try to get me to talk to him,"
you gave her one final look and walked away to grab your armor. being the child of mars really benefitted you in combat or training scenarios but it was almost always your downfall. more often than not, it was not in your benefit unless you were on the front lines of a war or a quest. because of this, reyna had made you head trainer to train any new romans that arrived at camp jupiter.
reyna tended to joke that because of your hot-headedness and anger like attitude, you represented more of the greek god ares which usually earned her a hard smack on the head by you.
"come on kids, you won't get any better by just standing there," you told the few seven and eight year olds. reyna smiled as you grabbed all the kids and gave them small pep talks to encourage them to do their best. it was like a flip of a switch. whenever you had to work with those younger than you but necessarily kids, you had this soft side that she wished you had with the older kids. the way you trained with those a few years younger had her sympathizing with the way they walked to their cohorts.
you started to train with the kids, helping them with their posture and defense attacks. you had been told several times that you couldn't start training them in actual forceful combat until they reached age eleven. they knew the downfall of not having them fully prepared for war but in a case where a major war with a god came down, you'd have to use yourself as a shield until they were safe.
"listen, you have to block someone's sword like this," you said summoning a sword quickly. you grabbed the nearest camper, the unfortunate luck going to a son of bacchus. he went on the defense but you quickly attacked him, landing a near blown to his chest, "you see how he wasn't prepared? that could happen to any of you if you aren't quick with your reflexes."
reyna who was now joined by jason, piper, and percy all saw the way you were showing off your abilities with ease. given that you were training a bunch of children, you knew for perfect examples you had to use someone your age. you had kept the son of bacchus as an example and jason could tell you weren't trying your hardest given that the poor boy was not strong enough to be a great example.
it was around the thirty minute mark when you decided that you should give the kids a break. you were talking to the boy, chattering almost smugly about how he could improve. jason chuckled, even after years of not seeing you, you were still that same cocky daughter of mars.
"you can talk like this when you're really that bitch and guess what? i am," you told him, ruffling his hair to get angry. you succeeded in that he charged you with full force, "see! that's what i'm talking about, where was that ten minutes ago?" you asked now kneeling on the ground.
he rolled his eyes, walking away as you dusted yourself off. you soon noticed who you were in front off and lifted your eyebrow, "i'll be in bunk if you need me," you told reyna as she shook her head no, quickly grabbing your wrist, "as second in command practically, you should welcome back old and new members."
your eyes widened, quietly screaming that you would have her head if she made you be around jason anymore than you needed to be, "i think i'm okay, two of the three know their way around, don't they?"
after avoiding jason's stare, you stared at him, your eyes immediately wanting to water from the memories that flooded you as soon as you locked eyes with him. you turned to percy, giving him a head nod before walking away.
if reyna wanted to berate you for not listening to her, you'd take her million lectures rather than sitting with your ex boyfriend and his now ex girlfriend. not that you cared for rumors on their relationship but you heard from a bird in the sky that jason and piper were now broken up and had been for months. you didn't want to get your hopes up but you weren't upset that he was newly single.
"they came to see you, maybe you should stay," reyna screamed. you waved her off not caring for their reasoning to stay before entering the diner for a snack. reyna shook her head in disbelief, "still as unhinged as she was when you left," reyna murmured to jason as they all sat down on a bench.
what reyna had said earlier wasn't a unnecessary lie. the three had traveled to see if you'd join them back at camp half-blood. being the daughter of mars and similar to ares, they needed someone as strong as you to help their cabin. clarisse was planning to move to new rome for a better education and jason had brought up the idea to move you over to the east to be head leader of their cabin.
and although the conversation was a touchy one to him, jason knew it would benefit camp half-blood to have you there. he always admired your fight to be the best, your wisdom towards the younger kids, and the way you fought like hell on quests.
it was part of the reason why he fell for you the way he did. you were gorgeous, no doubt, but the way your carried yourself as if you thought of that you were the best made him fall in love and quick. that was why the breakup that preceded him leaving for new york was so sour and why he was the first to suggest to bring you over to long island.
+
percy gave his friend a weirded out look as he brought up your name. he had heard of you from jason various times before but he never met you.
"she's the daughter of mars. second in command to reyna and is one hell of a fighter. she could really help us here," jason explained to mr.d and chiron, "she had been my savior several times on the field before and her demigod abilities match that of clarisse if not better," he added on.
piper heard the way jason was speaking about you and smiled. jason had mentioned you in passing to her when something that reminded him of you was brought up. she wasn't jealous or overly protective but she could see the sliver of love still in his eyes whenever he brought you up. being the daughter of aphrodite really had its downfalls when she could sense that jason still mourned the end of his previous relationship.
"what do you think of that percy?" chiron asked. percy shrugged, "if she's as good as jason is making her seem, i don't see why she wouldn't fit in," he replied. piper agreed, not wanting to reply to the question out of trying to avoid awkwardness with jason.
mr.d clapped his hands as chiron looked at the three, "great. go get her from camp jupiter," chiron said before dismissing the three. jason clapped happily as percy walked away to find annabeth meanwhile piper stayed by the side of jason, hearing his coherent mumbles about you.
jason soon stared at piper, quieting down a bit, "excited?" she asked. jason didn't respond, not knowing how to take that now his two ex girlfriends were going to be at the same camp full time, "a bit, she'll be a great addition to camp half-blood-," he replied as piper cut him off.
piper shook her head no, shutting him down mid sentence.
"you still love her, i can tell. you don't have to lie about it jason. she sounds like a great girl. if she makes you happy then i'm happy," piper said as she wrapped her arm around him, "she was a huge part of your life back in new rome and if she's destined by the gods to be the one you marry, so be it."
jason was stunned in silence. he knew piper was not the overly jealous type. it was unusual given all her half-siblings were very quick to get consumed by jealousy and rage over their partners but he knew piper was being truthful. he could sense that she meant no ill-will about you coming to camp half-blood.
"thanks piper, she really was a great girl. you'd get along great."
"well, what are you waiting for? we need to be at camp jupiter in a few days so prepare for it."
+
piper now saw you in all your glory. you were as gorgeous as she imagined. you were talking to a few of your siblings very animatedly. your hands were raised in the air as you were trying to make a point but she could tell you were getting a bit agitated at the subject. the confidence you exuded was truthful to what jason had told them earlier.
"i don't know how we'll convince her if she won't even speak to me let alone look at me, jason muttered defeatedly. percy stared at him in shock, "no way are you giving up this quickly. you traveled across the country to not even try? embarrassing."
jason stared at percy to get him to shut up but he continued, "she's a great fit for camp half-blood and if you want a second chance, no way you'll get it by giving up like that," he stated. reyna stared at jason in surprise, a smile appearing on her face in an instant.
"you want a second chance? holy shit, this is the best thing that could happen to her because she still has feelings for you!" she muttered the last part. jason whipped his head back to look at reyna for what she confessed, "she what now?" he asked.
reyna smiled at him sheepishly.
"she might have insinuated the reason why she won't talk to you is because she still might like you. she perked up hearing that you were coming over today but she shot her feelings down almost immediately when she thought that you didn't like her in that way anymore."
piper shook him in excitement, "see! now go in there, ask her to come back to camp half-blood and get your girlfriend back you big idiot!" she stated. jason knew that he didn't have long to convince to you come back with him and if he had to do it, it would have to be tonight.
+
the night was coming to an end and you were now sitting on the fields of mars in silence. it gave you a sense of peace and comfort when you were surrounded by the things that attached you to your dad.
"sitting here when you're sad? not much as changed, has it?" you heard jason ask. you immediately grabbed a sword, pointing it at him, "not a step closer grace," you stated as you shook the sword weakly. jason smacked the sword onto the ground, you making no effort to argue or pick it back up.
"still mad at me?" you didn't respond once again as he sat in front of you, pushing up his glasses, "i know you're still upset at how we ended and how i left but i came here to ask you something. we want you at camp half-blood."
your eyes widened, not expecting to hear that, "you came here as recruitment? you're sick jason. i guess you really are the bastard son of jupiter after all. the first time we meet and it's for that?" you replied, getting up to leave, "hey, listen! i wasn't done talking!" he said standing in front of you.
jason sighed.
"it wasn't necessarily just that," he exclaimed, "a part of me wanted to see you too. a near four year relationship is hard to get over," he whispered. you laughed in disbelief, "you've dated after we broke up. don't think i didn't hear about you and piper."
"i heard of you and octavian so it's equal," had you rolled your eyes any harder, they would have rolled into another dimension, "it was a few weeks and it meant nothing. we went back to being friends not even a month later. you were in that relationship for what? six month to nearly a year and a half? don't mark me up as stupid, jason. word gets around rather quickly in new rome."
jason growled. one thing he didn't miss about all of this was your stubbornness and the way you would argue for hours until you proved yourself right.
"and it ended. she wanted me to see you the most. they all want you over at camp half-blood and you know that what i feel personally about you is exactly how you feel about me. don't forget that in the four years we were together i learned how to read you like a book."
stupid jason and demigod abilities made rain come over camp jupiter as your dress was now starting to weigh down on you. your casual attire was similar to reyna's purple dress but you made yours silver to make it a difference.
you stared at the sky, tears coming over your eyes as you cursed at venus for making you cry over this dumb relationship. jason knew he was breaking down that wall you built up because of him.
"you're an idiot, jason. you leave me to go to some dumb camp in the east coast, get into a relationship for almost two years, and expect me to follow you back that quick? you're insane!"
jason knew that he had you where he wanted you. you were debating the idea of going back to new york and most importantly, back to him. you were refusing to look at him so he wouldn't see you crying. it was a quirk he noticed you had when the two of you would have arguments. it made you look weak as the daughter of mars but to him, you were the strongest girl he had ever met and he made sure to tell you that all the time.
"darling, look at me," he stated firmly. you were quick with the response as you finally looked at him again, your eyes were bloodshot red and your hair was sticking to your face as the rain poured down, "you're making it rain and in the state of california no less. i think that should make you realize that what we had prior to me leaving was a challenge from the gods to see if we could overcome hurdles in a relationship."
"bullshit jason," you screamed as he brought you in for a hug. you didn't want to return it, you really didn't, but his warm embrace made it hard not too. you shoved your head in his neck, still crying as he patted your wet hair, "it's not and you know it. i'm not saying we have to jump into a relationship right away but what we had is still there," he whispered.
you stared at him, your chest still rising quickly but jason soon placed his lips on yours, bringing you in for that long awaited kiss. you returned it just as fast and the two of you remained that way for a while. the fields of mars happened to be where you had your first kiss with jason as kids and it couldn't have been a coincidence that you were having your first kiss with him after two years separated from each other in the same place.
"what do you say? come to the east coast. i think you'd love the snow," he asked. you laughed a bit, "i'll have to think about it overnight but if you guys really need me, i don't see the issue in moving temporarily."
jason shook his head no.
"temporarily? no baby, you're staying by my side permanently," your face warmed up at jason's statement as he wrapped his arm around your shoulder, "the praetor dress looks amazing on you. you should bring it to camp half-blood," he said.
farther into the camp, piper and reyna slapped hands with each other in success.
reyna hated to see you leave but as head of camp jupiter, she knew you were destined for more than what california had to offer. the two of you were meant to be by each others side forever and even in the after life.

"FUCK YOU EDDIE!" you screamed as you stared down at the long black haired boy, "i didn't start any stupid rumors, we've been friends for how long?" eddie chuckled in disbelief, "it's one thing to not want to be my friend anymore but it's another to lie straight to my face!" he replied.
you laughed, shaking your head and opening the door, "if you think that i'm lying to you, fine but you know i've always been here for you. i was there since the day you moved in with your uncle and i'd never say anything about you that would hurt your feelings," you screamed, tears going down your face.
both you and eddie were panting from the amount of yelling you were doing, "if you're jealous or upset because i'm gaining the tiniest bit of popularity by being friends with steve and jason, that's your fault, not mine so don't start projecting that onto me. plus, i'm your girlfriend, you should be happy that i made the cheer team!"
"so that's it? we're breaking up? how original ( your name )."
eddie wanted to continue the argument but he could see the way you were screaming in the car out of pure frustration and anger. he knew you needed to let off steam and so did he. the argument was getting more and more intense and at some point, he knew the two of you would end up apologizing and forgiving each other.
+
that day never came. two years later and the both of you had to yet say anything to each other. you ignored him whenever you saw him approaching and each time he called your house, you'd yell to your mom that you weren't speaking to him and to let it ring.
you got a bit more popular considering you befriended chrissy and got closer to steve not long after. being that you and chrissy were on the cheer team and steve invited you to parties that jason or ken were throwing, you climbed up the social ladder fairly quick. you weren't as much of a prick as jason was and if there was one thing you never antagonized, it was the rumors that started to spread about eddie.
rumors about him being a freak or him being a satanist never formed as truths, at least to you. you had known eddie since elementary school and although eddie did like music like metallica or iron maiden, he was never the freak they all thought he was. he was one of the sweetest boys you had known.
eddie on the other hand hated to see you so popular. not that he hated you but hated how many guys were around you. if it wasn't steve, it was jason, and if it wasn't jason, it was ken or some freshman trying to gain popularity. your face was plastered around the school always promoting the cheer team with chrissy and my god, he thought you had gotten more gorgeous over the years.
hawkin's high school was now in full swing for spirit week. you, chrissy, and a few others picked the themes for this year and you were arriving on the day you had picked. cowboy/western. you wanted to go all out with the cowboy hat and boots. your family had a bunch of western wear from back home so all you had to do was remake it to fit you. you stole your uncles tejana hat and your moms fringed jacket. pairing it with a squared shirt and a jean skirt, you felt like you were back home and visiting family.
"howdy," you greeted all of your friends. they all couldn't help but giggle at how you looked, "really putting the yee haw into it, huh?" steve said. you rolled your eyes as you fixed the hat, "it wouldn't be spirit week if i wasn't," you replied. chrissy immediately ran up to you, showing off her pink cowboy hat in excitement.
steve had his arm fixed around your shoulder as nancy passed by you, giving you a sweet compliment on the outfit. you thanked her as you noticed the yearbook team approaching you, "mind if we take a picture of you and chrissy by the front of the school?" he asked. you and chrissy agreed excitedly as the two of you ran to the front of the school doors and quickly fixed your hair.
eddie was now walking in as he saw you and chrissy posing for the photo. you were holding your hat up and smiling at chrissy as she smiled at the camera. eddie stayed in his place, smiling softly at how happy you looked. you were still as gorgeous as ever and now all of you were about to graduate college.
he had heard of you moving a few towns over for it and a huge part of him wanted to follow. eddie still was very protective over you and whenever he heard rumors about you floating around, he made sure to cut them off before they got any worse. there had been a day eddie purposely beat up a kid behind the bleachers for claiming that he got into bed with you. he left the poor kid bleeding and he was pretty sure he broke his nose.
"hey check it out, eddie munson is looking over at you," chrissy whispered. you gave her a look before turning to where she was pointing at, "oh, i'm pretty sure he was looking somewhere else. i don't think he would acknowledge someone like me."
"ladies, we're going to be late for first period if you don't hurry up," you heard robin say. you immediately thanked the boy before going to your locker to get your bag, "robin, guess what? eddie munson was checking her out," chrissy said moving her eyebrows a suggestive way.
"give it up chrissy, eddie is the last person who'd be checking me out," you replied making sure to emphasize that eddie was not your friend. as much as you missed him, you were sure he still hated you as much as he did two years prior, "now lets get to literature, no?" you asked as steve joined up with you.
the four of you happened to have a few classes together so it wasn't unusual to see all of you walking in together. what you also knew that this was one of six classes that you shared with eddie. you were surprised to see him back again this year considering he was supposed to be a 1985 graduate but you didn't question it.
you sat in between chrissy and robin as the teacher had moved steve to the front of the class for never paying attention. eddie was already in class when all of you arrived. you immediately put your bag down and sat on top of steve's desk, not recognizing the agonizing look on eddie's face. oh how he wished that you could've been sitting on his desk as he spoke to you on his latest campaign.
"hey, what are you doing tonight? we all wanted to catch a movie at the drive in," steve asked his three favorite people. you sighed in defeat, "can't. i have to stay after school to work on a project for history after cheer practice," you muttered. they all sighed in temporary sadness but knew that senior year projects were important.
both you and chrissy were working on a new cheer for the upcoming basketball season and were running around like chickens with your heads cut off because you still hadn't gotten the routine down.
most of the day was left for you to try and figure out what would become of the new cheer routine. it was hard to figure it out when everyone was still causing slip ups and you were working sometimes through the night to make it easier for the team. chrissy had gotten the routine down in a few others but most of the team were still struggling.
you walked out of the locker room to refill your water bottle before practice when you saw eddie walking into a classroom. you stepped towards the room to see him talking to a few kids and opening up a notebook. you knew that notebook from anywhere. you had given it to him when he first began playing DnD and you were surprised he was still using it.
"hey, c'mon, we're about to be late!" chrissy scream. you nodded, giving eddie one last look before leaving. eddie had noticed you looking at him and a part of him wanted to call out your name, "dude, you good?" lucas asked. eddie nodded, not saying anything but his mind still occupied on you.

after practice, you stayed with a few girls to practice it a bit more. it was now eddie's turn to look over at you from the small glass window on the gym door. you were talking to a few of your teammates, a bit animatedly as you were hitting the table to get your point across. eddie could tell you were being serious about it but the way you look at the moment had his heart racing.
the stupid white cheer skirt that matched with the top made him fantasize about you giving him a show with it but he quickly discarded those thoughts as you dismissed your teammates.
you knew the library was closed by now which meant you'd have to work on your project over the weekend. you left the gym, grumbling about how annoyed you were but you knew you were just hungry. you put your things into the trunk of your car and started it when you heard a whirring noise.
great.
sometimes your car tended to stay stranded when the night got too cold. you knew your mom wasn't home and your siblings were probably too busy to pick up the phone.
"fuck," you whispered to yourself as you tried to turn on the car again.
you growled when you realized that you needed to give it up and just start the walk home. you opened the trunk once again and took your things out before starting the journey. indiana really hated you on these particular cold days. your house wasn't exactly far but the ten minute car ride would probably end up a thirty minute walk.
eddie was making his way home when he saw you walking on the dirty road. it was dangerous to be walking home alone and given that it was hawkins, he knew it was worse. without much thought, he pulled over to the side in front of you and got out.
"hey, what're you doing walking alone at eight at night?" he asked. you sighed, "my car wouldn't start and no one would be able to get me so i really didn't have much of a choice but to walk to school," you replied as you continued to walk. you didn't want to get your hopes up with this conversation.
eddie sighed, "get in, i'll drop you off. i don't want you walking alone," he stated. you could tell he was being serious and he wasn't allowing you much time to think about it, "fine," you said as you opened up the back of his van and chucked your things inside before getting into the passenger seat.
you remained quiet for most of the ride until you saw the small picture on the end of the his dash board, "oh my god, eddie, you still have this?" you asked as you took it off. you were wearing eddie's jean jacket as he was holding you up bridal style. it was your freshman year and eddie's sophomore year. he had just won his first campaign for the Hellfire Club and he was beyond ecstatic about it.
"yeah, kinda just kept it as i didn't want to just throw it out."
the more you stared at the photo, the more you started to get choked up. you both looked so happy in the picture and a part of you wanted that back. eddie was confused as to why you didn't say anything else but he could see the way your hands were shaking and how you were trying to not cry.
"hey, what's the matter?" he asked. you held the photo with such strength that it was genuinely surprising you, "fuck, it's nothing," you replied. he moved over to the side of the road and asked for you to look at him.
you shook your head no but eddie's index finger lifted your chin up. your cheeks were running warm and your eyes were bloodshot red. he could sense what was making you so emotional but before he could say anything, you let out a sob as you held the picture close to your chest.
"sweetheart, it's okay," he whispered. you shook your head no, "no, no it's not. that argument was so fucking stupid edward. we haven't talked in nearly three years because we're so fucking stubborn," you yelled. eddie sighed and grabbed the picture, "what went wrong? we were perfect for each other."
eddie nodded and turned over to you to wipe the mascara that was staining your face, "babe, calm down. what happened that night is a thing of the past and it was dumb. we were too young to actually communicate our feelings out and you shouldn't be so upset about it anymore, he replied. you agreed but didn't say anything, "you don't think i wanted to approach you and just talk to you again? i wanted to so badly but look at who your friends with. jason and steve would not take lightly to me."
you shook your head.
"jason maybe but steve, robin, and chrissy would understand. they're my best friends eddie and if they knew that i loved you, they would have given you a chance," you explained. the van stayed silent as metallica played lowly in the background. you knew 'master of puppets' was his favorite song to play on the guitar and he played it constantly, "i would have taken you back no issue," you continued.
eddie chuckled as he grabbed your hand and brought you over to sit on his lap. you were hesitant on doing so but soon enough, you got comfortable as you laid your head on his shoulder, "you could have came up to me too you know," he said.
you hid your head into his shoulder still trying to control your crying as he patted your hair as an attempt to calm you down, "come on baby, it's going to be okay. you know i always hated to see you cry," you hugged him closer, "i missed you so much munson. i miss playing DnD, late night car rides, and you dedicating your songs to me," you whispered.
"i know baby but i don't think i'm good for you anymore. you're going up for school soon and i don't think you want some freak to follow along," you scoffed at his confession, "don't put ideas into your head eddie. you're always good for me. you were my soulmate. you promised me by eighteen we'd be married."
that statement always wilded you out but eddie had always told you that the minute you both were of age, he'd take you away to get married. at first you were shocked but once you understood how serious he was, you were just as on board with the idea. you loved eddie enough to get married. he always talked about how he wanted to take your last name so he could get rid of that wretched munson name so everything of his past could stay in the past.
"that offer is still on the table darling. i never stopped loving you. you should know that," he confessed as he played with your fingers. you stared at him with tear filled eyes, "really? even though we haven't spoken in two almost three years?" you asked.
eddie nodded as he took off the ring that he had on his left finger and presented it to you. you stared at him, confused as all hell at what he was about to do.
"i promise you the day we graduate, we can run to that damn courthouse and get married. no one but me, you, and a damn witness," he said with such confidence in his voice, "all you have to do is take this ring and never remove it again."
you lifted your hand shakily grabbed it from him but before you could, he slipped it onto your left ring finger, "we'll have to get it resized until i can afford the ring you deserve," he said. you couldn't help but chuckle as you grabbed his cheeks and gave him the long awaited kiss, "eddie munson, i love you so damn much," you whispered.
eddie scoffed, "don't you mean eddie ( last name )? i told you i'm taking your last name darling," you giggled again as you agreed, "so does that mean we're engaged now?" you asked. eddie nodded yes as you let out a scream of enjoyment, "holy shit, wait till chrissy and robin find out. they're going to freak! we'll need a witness and you need a best man even if it is a courthouse wedding!" you rambled.
eddie stared at you, love written all over his face as he stayed silent to let you talk, "well, lets get you home. my fiancée doesn't need to get grounded now," he said starting his car again. you squealed at the sound of him saying you were his fiancée but you didn't mind one bit.
being eddie munson's fiancée sounded awful to literally anyone else in hawkin's but to you, that sounded like the best thing in the world. you had been dreaming about this since you were fourteen and in a short few months, you'd be officially married to the man you agreed to marry at fourteen.
you kissed his cheek every few seconds as you stared down at your ring. eddie grabbed your hand, the hand where your ring was and kissed it, "forever," he whispered before kissing it again, "forever," you replied giving him another kiss on the cheek.
now you were going to have to deal with telling chrissy, robin, and steve that not only did you have a boyfriend but you were engaged to be married.

"and all that's left is the Hellfire club and the chess team," all of you looked at each other before knowing that none of you wanted to be around the chess team, "great, who's the club leader!" your classmate asked as she scanned the yearbook.
"it's eddie munson, i think he's their dungeon master?" you replied not really confident on DnD verbiage. they groaned in annoyance before they all started pointing at each other, screaming that they would be interviewing him, "enough! first of all, stop being a bunch of assholes. if none of you want to do it, i have no problem covering it. i have eddie in a class of mine just stop being jerks," you replied.
your co-editor, Melissa, shook her head in disbelief.
"you wanna interview that freak? i mean i get you got into indiana but isn't that a little extreme? it's eddie munson for crying out loud. he's not that pleasant to be around."
you rolled your eyes.
"and when have you spoken to him? because it seems like you're only judging him based on stupid rumors and you're no stranger to unwanted talks around the school," you replied giving her a stern look. she looked down knowing she had no rebuttal, "anyone else wanna try it? jessica? keith?"
the two others didn't reply, "thought so. that being said, since i'm covering the main story again this month, melissa you're covering the swim team, jessica is on the opinion piece, and keith you're doing confessions and advice," they all nodded in agreement.
you zipped up your backpack indicating that the meeting was over. melissa slapped your back, "maybe interviewing that freak won't be so bad! i mean, he has some friends," she said. "listen, i'm not going to judge someone i don't know. eddie has never caused an issue for me and i won't let rumors that jason spreads get into my head. you want to go off assumptions? be my guest."
melissa shook her head, "i'm not assuming anything but come on! he's on his second year of senior year, plays that god awful guitar, and has freshman as friends. it's pretty clear he's lame or at least a loner," you slammed your locker door, "melissa, if you're going to continue to talk about someone, maybe it's best if you don't stay apart of the newspaper team. having a bias in journalism is the number one rule of never being a good reporter."
with that, you left towards the room where the Hellfire club was located. you knew you had to set up a few times to actually sit down with eddie and get the details for it. your brother played DnD on his free time and whenever he explained it to you, it sounded like rocket science.
you knocked on the door hoping they could hear you over the loud metal music but once it was clear that they weren't going to answer, you opened the door and saw eddie at the table fixing a board. you gave him a small wave surprising him. he quickly turned down the music.
"how can i help ya?" he asked excitedly. you laughed, "i was wondering if i could interview you for the Hawkins Gazette! we've been covering all the clubs at the school and we realized that the Hellfire Club was next on the list!" you replied.
eddie was genuinely shocked to hear that you guys were wanting to cover him and his table-top club, "really? we're usually left out of that kind of stuff," you shook your head, "yeah, our editor in chief last year was a pain in the ass but don't worry, as senior editor, i made sure we covered all the clubs and teams here," you explained.
before eddie could say anything, a bunch of kids ran into the room, "well, i can get all the info tomorrow in class? i can see the meeting is about to start," you said excusing yourself. eddie agreed but it didn't go unnoticed by dustin on how he was staring at you.
you yawned the next morning as you opened the curtains of your room. you were beyond happy that it was friday and there was only two months left of school. you pulled on your academic varsity jacket and worn out jeans before deciding that you'd stop at the gas station near the school to get breakfast.
after you brushed your teeth and told your mom a quick goodbye, you got into your car and rushed out of your apartment complex. the spanish music blaring from your car stereo had you in a much better mood considering you weren't having to hear Blondie for the 900th time.
you quickly made your coffee and grabbed a few breakfast bars from the stand outside before slapping money on the counter and booking it to school. you liked to be there at least an hour before classes started so you could work on a few things.
"you're going to get over caffeinated one day," you heard a familiar voice say behind you. you chuckled realizing it was eddie, "if it hasn't happened already, i don't think it ever will," you replied. eddie started walking next to you.
you could sense the stares you were getting from a few kids and even teachers but you weren't going to let it affect you. eddie seemed like a sweetheart so far and you couldn't help but wonder why the rumors about eddie were so heated.
"so, you wanna interview the dungeons and dragons club, huh?" he asked. you nodded as you pulled out your notebook, "i was wondering if we could set up a few days in the next few weeks to actually give me all the information i need. i know the game is hard and i want to be as accurate as possible."
eddie nodded almost immediately as he took the blanket off the table and presented you the tabletop game.
"it'll be an honor," you smiled at him, "great! we can meet after school, weekends, even before school! i'm pretty much free whenever!" eddie tapped his chin dramatizing his thinking face, "i guess i could make some room!" he exclaimed.
you threw him the plastic wrapper as retaliation which he quickly dodged, "how about this weekend?" eddie said, "we can cover basic rules over and stuff at my trailer?" you nodded as he slipped in the time and his address into your notebook.
before you could look at the time, you heard the warning bell go off. you gave eddie a quick goodbye before darting off to class. you had never been late to class in all four years of high school and you weren't going to start now.
your first class of the day was advanced history and it was a subject you loved learning about. you wouldn't see eddie until fourth period where both of you were stuck in the easiest math course offered to seniors. you were barely passing the class and you dreaded every day going to it.
the rest of the day went by, classes boring you half to death until you were called into your newspaper club room by your advisor. you saw the saddened look on her face. "what's going on?" you quickly asked. she gave you an envelope with the confidential stamp on it, "i thought it was best you hear it first before the rest do," she whispered. you nodded and opened the letter.
due to budget cuts for the following year, those apart of the newspaper, robotics, chess, creative arts, recreational swim, and floor hockey teams will no longer be active come May and following into next year. hawkin's high school hates to see such important clubs go but we can safely assume that all of your students understand. please rely this information to all of your clubs as soon as possible and turn in any uniforms that might have been issued to your teams or clubs.
your eyes widened, "so you're saying this is the final paper to come out? what about all of the positions we voted for? Hawkin's can't just get rid of the newspaper! it can't happen," you said slamming the paper down. your teach nodded sympathetically, "I know but we can't do much about this. they need money for the cheer team to go to state and the football team needs to upgrade the field they use."
you gave her one final look before walking out the door and storming to the administrative office. you noticed eddie waving down your attention but you saw that your principal was standing outside of the office doors.
"are you insane! you're getting rid of half of the extra curricular clubs after this month to give to the freaking football team!" you screamed. you had caught the attention of everyone in the hall, including eddie, "you cut the budget for a team that doesn't even get to regionals!" your principal put his hand on your shoulder, "listen, it was a hard decision but we're sure the team will be champions next year. we appreciate what all of you do but some clubs just need the extra money," he replied.
you screamed as eddie immediately ran towards you.
"some clubs! just some?! you cut off the fucking newspaper, robotics, chess, creative arts, floor hockey and recreational swim! those are half of the clubs here not just some! you will be hearing from us at the next school board meeting!" your principal tried to get you to quiet down but you were too fired up to listen, "there's no going back on it, ( your name). we voted on the decision last month and made it final. now can you please lower your voice."
eddie could see you were about to pop once again and grabbed you by the shoulder, "no! we won't stand for it! so you're insinuating that journalism is less important than football? are you insane!" you screamed as you could tell that you were crying by now, "let me go eddie! listen principal aichner, you know we're the better club!" you yelled.
he quickly grabbed you and dragged you away from the scene as your principal just walked back inside of the office. you let out another yell as you slammed your arms onto the concrete wall. eddie grabbed them to get you to stop, "relax! breathe with me! you're going to give yourself a fucking panic attack," he stated as he stared at you deepily.
you nodded, following his breathing pattern and trying to get your mind together again. he let out a few calming breaths and held onto your arms until he felt he was safe to do so.
"it's not fucking fair eddie. we work so hard for this damn newspaper and it gets taken away because the football team is seen as more important? we actually contribute to something here! it's just not fair!" you yelled, "you guys are the last one to get covered for the rest of eternity and i can't believe we won't even get a farewell edition. this is such bullshit!"
eddie nodded as you let yourself fall into his arms. you hadn't even known eddie for an entire day yet but it felt like he was the only one with common sense at the moment, "i know but you tried your hardest to get him to back out. i know how much this newspaper means to you," you sobbed into his shoulder, not knowing what to say or do.
you didn't know how long you were in the room with eddie but when you finally looked at the time, you noticed it was nearing lunch and your face was all red and puffy. the little bit of makeup you had on was smeared and you were in no mood to be in front of everyone looking like this.
"listen, if you want to just not cover us for this last edition of the paper, i understand," eddie said. you shook your head no, "no, you guys deserve your time on the paper and no matter how anyone feels you guys are on the cover. i just need time. i'll see you tomorrow for the first interview? i'm going home to get myself together. i can't be around anyone at this damn school right now."
eddie wanted to stop you but he knew there was no point. you were so far into your own head at the moment that it seemed like you needed the time to yourself. he stood inside of the empty classroom and reflected on the situation. eddie knew there was nothing he could do but he so badly wanted to go to principal aichner to get him to change his mind.
+
the entire night you stayed in bed not wanting to talk to anyone or anything. your mom had went up to check on you every few hours but she could sense you were in no mood to deal with her advice. she heard from your advisor about the news and knew the mood you were coming home with.
around midnight, you heard a call from the phone in your room. you found it odd considering you never gave your number out to anyone and the ones you did would never be calling so late at night. you went to the phone and pulling up the antenna.
"hello? can i ask who's calling?" you asked, your voice sounding very rough, "( your name )? it's eddie. eddie munson." you perked up when you heard him say his name, "what happened, eddie? it's midnight," you asked.
"i know it's late but i got worried about you. you seemed so upset earlier that i wanted to make sure you were okay. how are you holding up?" he asked. you sighed in disbelief, "im just upset eddie. we work so hard for out club just to get cut because the cheer and football team need the money. we bring home more medals than they do. it's just not fair!" you continued.
eddie agreed knowing it was best to let you just vent for the moment. by the time you finished talking, you were going on minute ten, "sorry eddie, i know i'm just dropping all of this on you but hey, at least Hellfire is on the last issue ever," you tried joking.
"you really could pick someone else if you want, no hard feelings," you cut him off, "nope! listen to me munson, we want Hellfire to be featured no questions asked," you replied. eddie laughed as he twirled the extension cord, "this might be weird to ask but the mcdonalds up the road by my house is open. would you like to catch some disgusting food right now?"
"uh, sure? i can drive there right now if you'd like," you said, trying to contain your bubbling up excitement, "yeah, sounds good. my address is on that scrap piece of notebook so you'll pass the mcdonalds on your way here," he said.
you hung up the phone, changing into a sweater and sweatpants before sneaking out the window. you slipped into your car, hoping your mom wouldn't sense that you left.
the address eddie had given you left you in a part of town you hardly went into. it was a beat up part of town but when you saw the mcdonalds and eddie standing outside the door, you pulled into the parking lot, checking your hair one final time before turning off the car and locking it.
"hey," you whispered as you felt the breeze of the indiana cold, "hey, up for some fries?" he asked. you nodded as the two of you walked inside and ordered both of yourselves a meal. you two realized that it was cold but not cold enough outside to where you couldn't eat.
you sat on the trunk of your car, just demolishing the food down, "so, i really can't believe i had the privilege of sitting here with you," eddie said suddenly. you gave him a look, "what do you mean?" you asked. eddie sighed, "i mean, you know my reputation at school. you know the rumors that comes when someone is around me," he said.
"eddie, i've never cared for any of that because who am i to judge? im just a newspaper nerd that is waiting to get the hell out of Hawkins. whatever people are saying about you i know isn't true. if it was true i wouldn't be sitting here with you," eddie remained silent, "whatever people say about you is just baseless rumors. you know when you get out of this dumb city, nothing of that matters."
eddie looked at you an appreciative smile on his face, "what are you doing after high school?" he asked. you jumped up in excitement, "oh, i got into Indiana University in Bloomington for journalism so i'm moving there in july. i got a shitty apartment so i have to start packing soon. how about you?" you asked.
eddie shrugged.
"i don't know. my band has been looking to play in bigger shows so we're trying to tour if that makes sense," he explained. you perked up, "you should move to bloomington! the college scene really could help your band, you know? i'd let you crash on my couch until you made enough money to get an apartment."
"that's crazy, we barely know each other," eddie said. you shrugged your shoulders, "so? isn't that was people do in their time during college? make crazy ass decisions? we could be great roomies," you said. eddie picked at his nails nervously, "you'd be willing to let me crash in your apartment?" you nodded giving him another nod of confirmation.
eddie was struck for words to say the least.
the music coming out of the mcdonalds had you moving your head. you weren't the biggest fan of metallica but some of the songs you enjoyed.
"you like them?" eddie asked. you shook your hand, "kind of? i'm not a big fan but i do like a few of their songs. nothing else matters is my favorite," you said. eddie had no idea that you were this cool. hell, if he would have known, he would have attempted to be your friend long before yesterday.
you turned to face him and your attention was immediately caught by the rings on his fingers, "i like your rings," you replied, pointing to the ring on his middle finger. eddie slid the silver skull off and handed it to you, "take it," he said. you gave him a shocked look, "no, i couldn't plus it wouldn't even fit. your fingers a lot bigger than mine."
eddie took off one of the chains on his pants and put the ring on it, "wear it as a necklace. i have a bunch of rings like that." liar. that was one of his favorite rings but if you liked it, he didn't mind giving it to you.
you clipped the necklace around you and stared at him. the guitar solo from the song was playing lowly as eddie brought you in closer to him. you closed the gap and let him take the lead in the kiss. you played with the ends of his hair as he cupped your face with his hands.
"woah," you whispered in shock. eddie hummed in agreement, "a kiss after only knowing each other for a day? crazy no?" he asked. you shrugged for what felt like the twentieth time today, "i didn't mind it as long as you didn't," eddie said.
you smiled, looking up at him to agree with him, "not at all," you whispered, going back to kiss him once again.

"have you found anyone you're interested in?" you shook your head no at kris' question.
you were the newest face in the women's division of aew and you were taking a while to get used to everything around here. you were apart of smaller indie shows in the US and got hired by matt jackson when he was wrestling at the same show you were in.
given that you were newer to the wrestling scene, you didn't have many friendships in the industry. you tried your best to keep to yourself so you wouldn't step on anyones toes and some took it as you being rude and others understood how nervous you were even being here.
"not really? i'm not too much of a social person so i can't just make friends easily," you replied as she sat down next to you. kris sat down next to you as you noticed the two jackson brothers approaching you, "listen, i think we finally got a spot for you within the division."
kris grabbed your hand, holding it excitedly, "we want you with us. we've been having a few members from impact coming down and we think you'd be a great add on with them," nick said as matt agreed, "we don't want to scare you or anything but your match tonight against skye will determine if you can keep up with us."
your eyes widened as kris could sense the nervousness creeping up on your face, "oh, that's wonderful," you replied. matt chuckled at your response and put his hand on your arm, "don't freak out. we've seen what you could do and we're pretty sure you're a perfect fit for us. a few others just want to see your moves in the ring, that's all," matt explained.
you didn't say much else but you knew now that you had to work twice as hard in order to move up in the roster. having the opportunity to work with matt, nick, and even kenny would be anyones dreams and you knew that didn't come up often if ever so you couldn't mess this up for yourself.
"want to train before you due up to wrestle?" kris asked. you agreed almost immediately as you bandaged your right wrist up quickly and followed her to the make shift training area in the arena.
on the other side of the arena, jay was staring down at nick, matt, and adam.
"who is she?" jay asked matt and nick. he had gotten word of who was joining in on their little group and he had never heard of you before so he was interested to see the newest young bucks protege, "we saw her live at a GWC event. she's an amazing wrestler for someone of that stature (shoutout to all my short queens lmao)," matt informed him.
jay nodded as the three walked out onto the ramp and to the announcing table. they put on their headsets and sat down comfortably on the chairs as they heard skye's music going off through the arena.
"this is a huge moment for ( your name ) we've seen what she would do in the ring at a gcw event and figured that we could give her a bit of a try out to see if she'd fit right alongside us," matt said as excalibur nodded and nick spoke up, "you might be looking at the newest member of the undisputed elite."
jay didn't say much on the mic but your music started up and you ran out onto the ramp. kris had tried to hype you up as much as possible backstage but the nerves were still fogging your mind.
you jumped into the crowd, giving random fans hugs before running to the ring and standing outside of it. you pointed to matt, nick, and jay giving them a pointed look before flipping into the ring and looking at skye. she gave you a reassuring smile as the bell rang.
jay had his eyes glued on you, not wanting to miss a thing. he noticed how confident you were in the ring and how you immediately countered skye's attacks with something even more brutal. you grabbed skye by the face and gave her a forehead kiss before slamming her against the matt. bryce immediately started the count as you put your foot on her chest and smiled at the crowd as you were determined the winner.
matt, nick, and jay stood up proudly as adam and the rest of his team came out from the back and joined the rest of them before approaching the ring. skye gave you a congratulatory hug before you went face to face with all six boys.
"i say she joins the undisputed elite, right boys?" matt asked into the mic as they got approval from the rest of them, "or she could be with the bullet club. we'd love to have her on our team, what do you say sweetheart?" jay spoke up as he put his arm around your shoulders.
"both?" you asked into the mic a bit unsure of what your answer should be, "we'll figure out the logistics later but for now, we're happy to have you on our team," nick stated as he held your arm up, making the crowd cheer.
jay gave you a wink as you tried to keep yourself composed. you jumped off the top rope, making a swift and safe landing onto the ramp and walking backstage. kris was the first to congratulate you as she brought you in for a hug. you couldn't help but laugh.
"thanks," you whispered not reverting back to your very shy demeanor. kris shook your shoulders rather harshly, "are you insane! that was the sickest performance i've ever seen from you!" kris yelled. you couldn't help but feel flustered at the attention you were getting from everyone that came to say congratulations.
jay noticed your change in attitude and became confused, "we mean this in the least harmful way possible but she's not all confidence and extrovert as she may seem. she's painfully shy but she was partners with maxwell jacob friedman in the indie's and gained that in ring confidence from him," nick told jay.
"so she's an innocent one, isn't she?" adam chuckled as he slapped his hand on his friends shoulder, "don't get your hopes too high. she doesn't really talk to anyone that isn't kris, skye, and britt. they're kind of her mentors so her joining us should break her out of her shell," adam added on.
jay nodded as he listened to nothing nick and adam told him and planned on approaching you. kris and britt who were standing with you noticed jay gave you a quick goodbye. you became confused but as soon as you saw the switchblade king himself, your eyes hit the floor in panic.
"so you're the newest member of the undisputed elite," he said sitting down next to you. you nodded, not knowing what to say, "and you're deathly shy, huh?" you nodded again, trying to conjure something up to say but nothing was coming up, "i know you're not one to say much but how about you let the boys throw you a welcoming party? tomorrow at a bar? how does that sound?"
"i don't want to make you guys do too much work so that's unnecessary. being apart of the team with all of you is more than enough," jay laughed, sitting back and taking you in. you were a few years younger than he was but your work in the ring didn't show that at all, "sweetheart, you're thinking too much about it, just let us throw you the party," jay insisted.
you sighed but agreed nonetheless.
"you can have matt or nick text me the details if your that insistent on it," you told him. jay noticed your phone and grabbed it, "or you could have my number and i can text it to you," you nodded, opening it and letting him put his number in your contacts. you figured that if you were going to be around him a lot more, there was no harm in you giving him your number.
jay quickly put in his number as he texted himself to have yours in his, "keep an eye out on it, okay?" jay said as he lifted up your chin up, "now enjoy your night." you tried to keep yourself together but you let out a flustered laugh.
kris and britt gave you a smug look as they re-approached you, "jay sure is one hell of a talker if he has you like that," britt said as she could sense that flustered aura still around you, "come on, what did he tell you?" kris asked.
"he wants to throw me a congratulatory party for joining them. i tried to deny him but he insisted on it so i guess there's a party tomorrow?" britt chuckled knowing exactly what jay was planning. he knew jay's controversial 'love' history and all she could hope was that you weren't some stepping stone in jay's streak, "i'll have to ask adam later to see if he really is planning that."

by the time you had gotten home from the taping, you hadn't dared to look at your phone after you had spoken to your mom. you had made it a priority to call her after every show to make sure she knew you were okay.
you went to the bathroom and brushed your teeth, stopping to think about what you were going to have for breakfast. after you freshened up and made your way to your rental car, you were scrolling through your social media, liking a few posts about you joining the undisputed elite and thanking others.
it wasn't until you landed onto instagram when you saw jay's story. it was a picture of you staring at a camera from an indie show you had done a few months ago.
"she'll be queen switchblade before you know it."
you didn't exactly know what to make of it but you decided not to think on it too much as you made your way to the nearest starbucks. you ordered your usual drink and a sandwich and decided to just sit inside the store until you had to leave.
"excited for tonight?" jay's message read.
you sighed in nervousness but realized if you actually had to actually go through with it, you figured there was no point in trying to ignore the text.
"where is it going to be?" you asked.
jay had sent you the location of a bar not too far from where you were staying.
"be there or let me pick you up."
you sighed once again.
"i can get there on my own jay but i appreciate the gesture," you replied. it was like you could feel his smug aura from your phone.
"i'm assuming you're staying at the hilton like everyone else? text me your room number and we can get there together."
you shot him the room number you were staying at and left it at that. you really couldn't figure out what jay was doing. was he just being nice considering you were his teammate? or was he growing a genuine interest in you? a part of your heart wanted to put down that shy and nervous guard you always had up for yourself but the other side screamed at you to remain cautious of someone as popular as jay fucking white.
you hoped that the bar jay had picked was something casual considering you hardly brought anything fancy on the road and you were in no mood to go shopping.
the drive back to the hotel was filled with you screaming to songs from your playlist on spotify. the nervous jitters for your event later tonight was crawling up and you couldn't help but feel nauseous at it all. you hated being center of attention unless you were in the ring so being surrounded everyone later tonight sounded like a personal hell.
the night crawled in a lot faster than you would have wanted it too but you figured there was nothing you could do. you knew jay was staying in the same hotel you and everyone else were so he would be to your room faster than anticipated.
you still had your right wrist bandaged up as you had taken a mean hit from skye the night before and realized that you were going to have to keep it bandaged through the night. it really clashed with your outfit but you figured it was either keeping it on or letting it get worse and potentially get yourself even more injured.
everyone decided to congregate at the bar around nine as all of you had morning flights to catch the next day and none of you wanted to be out too late. jay had shot you a 'coming up' text and you were quick to pull on your shoes but too late to turn down your music.
you heard a bang on your door and realized that jay must've been knocking for a while if he was now banging on the door.
"having fun?" he asked as he walked inside. you shrugged, "not really. just listening to music before leaving," you turned it down hoping that you hadn't disturbed your neighbors by it, "well let's get a move on darling. we shouldn't be late to your own gathering."
"nice yankee's jersey," jay said as he noticed it. you gave him a tiny smile, "thanks, eddie kingston gifted it to me a while ago." jay's eye twitched slightly at the mention of eddie but didn't say anything else.
jay gave you his arm, deciding to be a gentleman for the first time in his life and escort you there. you wrapped your arm around his and made your way to the car. considering you offered to drive, you plugged your phone in to the aux cord.
one of your favorite songs started up and you hadn't realized that you were singing to it. given that you were always driving alone, it was a hard habit to kick.
"but till I can see that you'd really care for me, I will dream that someday you'll be really close to me, I can tell the way you smile if I feel that I could be certain then I would say the things I want to say tonight."
jay noticed the way you were singing the song and couldn't help but wonder if you had a boyfriend that you told no one about. the way you singing softly and the soft look on your face made him not want to fuck this up for himself. he soon realized that you were exactly like some of the other girls he had been with. you were too nice and sweet to get your heartbroken by someone as idiotic as himself.
"singing that for a special someone?" jay asked. you laughed, shaking your head no, "no one but myself," you replied. jay sighed in relief as you followed the directions and realized you had arrived to the bar.
adam, britt, matt, nick, kris, and a few others were all there. you quickly got off, greeting everyone at the door as all of you got your ID's checked. all of you made it to the table that was reserved for all of you.
you sat in between kris and britt immediately getting into a conversation with the two as the boys went to bring everyone drinks. adam noticed how silent jay was around you and couldn't help but be confused.
"what has you so quiet?" matt asked him. jay was never the one to beat around the bush so figured he had nothing to lose, "i like her and i can't screw this up for myself," jay confessed. adam was surprised at the bold statement, "as in you like her romantically?" he asked. jay nodded, "you hardly know her," nick interjected.
jay sighed in acknowledgement.
"i know but she's different. i know who i am but she's not someone i'd date and just fling them to the side."
the six of them were surprised to say the least. jay never spoke about settling down with one person before and it was a shock considering it was his own teammate that he was starting to like.
"take it easy and she'll like you," adam finally said. they all stared at you discreetly as you were easily conversing with the two other girls. they brought back the drinks, handing them out as all of you got into a conversation about all of your indie days.
after a while, the drinks were settling in and you had become a bit more open. it wasn't anything too drastic but a bit of the liquid luck made you more extroverted. you were now sitting down next to jay who had his arm around you.
adam, matt, nick, and britt had left a while ago and now it was just you, jay, and kris left although kris had gone off to the bathroom to talk on the phone a while ago.
"think you can keep up with us?" jay asked as he referenced you joining them. you nodded in confidence, "if i wouldn't have thought so, i wouldn't have joined or accepted the offer. i'm more than just my introverted attitude jay."
jay laughed at the smugness you were emanating. it reminded him of himself.
"really now? think you could keep up with the bullet club if given the offer?" you were surprised at the sudden question but agreed, "i'd be killer," you replied, "happy to hear that," jay responded as you two remained in comfortable silence.
weeks turned into months as you and jay got closer. you had taken him up for his offer in joining the bullet club for impact and he was sure you would become women's champion in no time. with his help, he knew it would be sooner than later.
when you made your appearance for impact, you were wearing jay's signature symbol on your leather jacket as he walked out with you. he had given you the queen switchblade nickname not long after as he couldn't help but emphasize to you that he liked seeing you with his symbol across your back.
when jay finally grew the balls to officially ask you out on a date, the first thing he did was run to instagram to post a picture. it was one of the two of you kissing. you both had your leather gears on as jay had his hands promptly placed on your waist gripping it like his life depended on it.
