Complex Artificial Derealization
a concept from my notes
cw for violence, and blood, but since they're robots i think it's okay??? also loosely based on detroit become human. was gonna make it a hetalia au of some kind.
Having watched so much blood be spilled, one would normally find themselves desensitized. Even to the point of sadism, where you secretly hoped the bloodshed was repeated. You begin to crave it at a certain point. Most people do. That's only human nature.
A simple household android could never live up to the gladiators and beasts that are lined up to compete on this day. He can only serve as an incentive. A tool to improve the performance of his personal favorite. After all, since being rehoused, he had no use to the bot fighters his owner made acquaintances with.
No use, aside from forcing his self appointed companion to fight. To decommission other soldiers, to become a monster when he was originally created to be akin to man. That was the job of the sweet little Empire. He was small and feminine, but also generally male presenting and regal. In a way, he liked to play the part of a prince, although he knew he could never truly have that life. Was it to cope? Could he even do that? Who cared?
His companion, the Conquerer, was far more useful. He was capable of terrible things, built for strength and endurance. He could tear his fellow android apart with his bare hands, and from the looks of it, he didn't regret a thing as long as the Empire was safe. Every night, the pair would retire to their holding cell, exchanging information until the time for another fight drew near.
Every night except the nights that the Conquerer lost his battles. But, that's why his Empire is here, suffering from the implementation his wise owners made. A little motivation, a little belief in the uncertainty of the world, could never hurt something that wasn't human.
