i’m rewatching potc, curse of the black pearl and i’ve always wondered… when Will saves (Captain) Jack from the gallows and throws his sword for him to stand on, beyond the point that that sword seems way too flimsy to hold his weight… how did Jack get down without like, straddling the sword??

cuz any way i picture it he gets cut up in one way or another in the dismount. both feet to one way when he falls, well that sword was directly beneath him, there’s no way he’s gettin down without some cuts of some kind.

like obviously it’s a movie about pirates and curses so i don’t think it’s meant to be taken so seriously, but it’s a small detail that’s bothered me every time i watch it (which is a lot cuz it’s one of my favorites movies).

idk, let me know if anyone else’s noticed it or if there’s an actual completely obvious solution for this beyond Captain Jack Sparrow Magic

listening to my parents argue is so heartwarming, like yeah they have actual arguments here and there but usually it’s about silly stuff like how my mom can switch topics mid conversation and my dad’s odd high craving the night before.

since me and my brother have moved out it’s just been really nice to see them acting like a young couple in love, what with them marrying and having me right out of high school, and then nearly splitting up when I was in middle school.

so i’m reading this batfam fanfic where Jason takes in an orphaned kid off the streets, and everyone is all freakin out like “omg what is the red hood doing around this child this is so out of character for him” and ??? i absolutely headcannon Jason is the best with kids. everyone thinks it’d be Dick cuz he’s all sunshine and kind smiles but if you grew up in the streets of Gotham i’d seriously doubt his outgoing and overwhelming personality will do any good at all (not to mention we really wasn’t good with Jason himself when they were younger).

Jason would absolutely be that patient guardian presence a lot of traumatized kids would need, because he was them once upon a time. prodding for answers and drowning them with assurances isn’t what a lot of those kids need at that point, and i think he’d know that and would just know what they need.

so yeah i can absolutely see Jason Todd taking in or being called up to calm down traumatized or scared children, i need more people to write about it.

i was at work alone yesterday and this guy was in the shop that was just giving total creep vibes, so i asked my dad if he could stop by on his way home. he did, the guy left, everything was fine but apparently he left work like right away, and my dad works for an oil company ok, and he told his buddies that he was leaving early and why and they all went “want us to come with?” and i don’t think i have ever felt more proud of my small town then in that moment
