current fan creation landscape is kinda like if you went to a party with a homemade cake and everyone takes a slice and silently thumbs up at you with no attempt to start a conversation except for occasionally some guy sits in the corner with a tape recorder critiquing the cake as though he was a restaurant critic and another guy is handing the cake to an uber driver like "yeah i need you to find a restaurant that makes cake like this so i can have more of it" and the only person that's talked to you in 30 minutes is a very sweet little guy who was like "hey i liked your cake" and then ran away apologizing for bothering you the moment you said thank you.

AU where the watchers take each individual Lifer and put them in Situations, with the idea of watching them throw themselves endlessly at walls untill they break. Just a bit of fun between games.

Most of the Lifers react as predicted. They try desperately to get out, growing more and more frustrated each time untill they break.

The twist? Jimmy doesn’t.

He just keeps going. No matter how they knock him down he gets right back up with a smile and a laugh and tries again, because that’s what Jimmy does. This is normal for him, he’s not gonna put in half effort because it’s frustrating or inconvenient.

By sheer number of attempts, he is the only one that makes it out. Not because he’s good, not because someone pitied him, but because he’s one resilient little canary.

Just . . . i need an AU where Jimmy’s resilience and unstoppability are highlighted

Fun Story to Share.

I got my (now 18-year-old) daughter into Ao3 back in 2021. I taught her she should always comment - even if the fic looks old or abandoned or whatever. She did.

Well - she got this email this morning:

The fic was written in 2014 and essentially abandoned.

Bethy read and reviewed in 2021 (and was actually the only person who had commented at all).

Today in 2025 - the final chapter was posted by the author and this was her reply to Bethy’s comment.

Genuine question what do you mean by “he’s constantly a problem”. Even in my first listen before i loved him that was never how i thought of him so i’m just curious

Been on a TMA spiral and here are some thoughts based on where I am right now before I diagram it:

- Top contenders for Gertrude’s murderer are Elias (sussy gatekeeping bureaucrat) and Tim (hardly mentioned/comes up)

- More Leitner shit… not a fan. Should have hid your H.P. Lovecraft shit better.

- Michael’s voice/laugh gives me the ick (apologies, but the weird Joker-ish vibes are putting me off)
