Review: Goddess Ultimate Protect & Shine Straightener
Ionic conditioning steam straightener that infuses hair with moisture and protects whilst achieving ultra straight result with enhanced shine & smoothness.
When I was asked to try the Vidal Sassoon Goddess Ultimate Straightener by the Gipps St Agency and to do a review I thought this was a great idea as my hair expands to a fluff ball during the humid summer months in Perth. I also don’t like…

Some Last Minute Gifts Ideas & Bloggers United Perth Event
Well Guys,
Its been months since the bloggers united event in Perth and I can’t believe I didn’t get a chance to post about it. My apologies. It was a jam packed day filled with lots of excellent information from an array of very interesting speakers. Well done to the Perth reps for organising such an awesome event. As I was using some of the products that were gifted to us over the past few…

Beauty Inside & Out Event - We did it!
Beauty Inside & Out Event – We did it!
The event was truly spectacular and I cant thank everyone enough for their involvement whether it was the attendees, the presenters, the yogis (Namaste ladies!) or the caterers. Even if you only did one thing in relation to BIAO (Beauty Inside & Out) – Thank you so much for your efforts. Myself and Shannon started this event journey as a means to provide a certain type of event to Perth that was…

Well it has been a hectic week, I have had so many experiences this week that I am grateful for. At the beginning of the week I wasn’t sure of how I would make it through the busiest week, but then I went to see Alice…
I had the opportunity to attend the fantastic premiere of Alice Through the Looking Glass thanks to Tash Natasha Louise Enterprises and its safe to say this is one rollercoaster movie of epic proportions.
I have a pretty vivid imagination. I have often been working quietly at my desk whilst also playing out various comical office banter scenarios that resulted in romances or hell blazing rows when someone will address me and I nearly jump to the ceiling for fear that they know my thoughts. It’s a real genuine fear by the way or maybe it’s just imagination paranoia. Either way, I have always felt a connection Alice.
I think the story of Through the Looking Glass has been captured clearly through this version. This movie is clearer and more concise than Alice in Wonderland. It is fair to say that Through the Looking Glass is more refined that the original too but I feel like the vision in this sequel is stronger. The vibrant colours roll through the movie delighting your eyes at each plot turn. The costumes are utterly exquisite and compliment the design of the overall production.
© 2016 Disney. I can’t recommend this movie enough for anyone who has an interest in the story or anything action packed and exciting. I love C.S Lewis particularly because of my kinship with Alice. I believe we can do anything when we put out mind to it. (My problem is figuring out what I want to put my mind to).
We saw the movie in 3D – this is always a funny experience for me because I wear glasses and I despise contacts. So …yes, I will sit there with two pairs of glasses on for the two hours thank you. Yes, it does hurt my nose and my ears and no that’s just how its going to be.
© 2016 Disney. Johnny Depp really transgressed with his character in this movie we see a dark more evolved humanistic Mad Hatter who longs so much to see his family again. Alice steals the chromosphere in an attempt to bring back Hatter’s ill-fated family and in turn the rabbit hole adventure commences with utter chaos.
We were treated to some beautiful rose-water and mixed berry drinks from Cocktail Gastronomy with some tasty macaroons too. The displays were beautiful and the vendors presented us with Eat me and Drink me cards. We also have the chance to take in a yummy bubble gum flavoured choc-bomb to the movie.
So the week started off with a bit of bang and I couldn’t help but wonder how the rest of the weekdays felt about keeping up with how fantastic Monday was. (Bad Monday showing all of the other days up!) Yet, Wednesday was quite the showstopper too, I was lucky enough to score an invite to the opening of the Guildford Hotel. As many of you know the Guildford Hotel closed down some eight years ago due to a fire. It has taken some time but the new Guildford Hotel is positively gorgeous.
The designers have utilised the exposed walls and developed the design to make the venue seem like the old hotel is still present in the new design. The architecture and design create a synergy between what was once there and what is there now. I spent most of my time scoffing the delectable cheeses and freshly cut anti pasto platters in the new function room which I’m sure is going to be venue hit. My favourite part of the venue was the sofas on the second floor, the rooms are created with a modern twist on old historical places. You could simply sit in the room and imagine what historical figure has passed through Guildford during the establishment of Perth.
If that wasn’t enough for you I also reviewed Kidman’s new movie Queen of the Desert on Thursday, it’s a delightful and romantic biopic for art house lovers and history buffs. Friday is always my favourite but especially because I had a half day from work and spent the evening planning some new theatrical projects which I will be sharing with you soon.
I also took some time to get my eyebrows done with Rachel Frost as Artistic Visions in East Perth. Rachel is fantastic at eyebrows and I can’t recommend her enough, especially because she has the patience to fix my eyebrows even when they are an overgrown mess! I’m very lazy at beauty therapy, I often go months without getting my eyebrow or eyelashes done so I feel so fresh when they are done.
I also popped to Ikea on friday night, oddly enough it wasn’t as terrifying as I thought it would be. Does anyone else hate crazy shopping places? I’m really not great with these sort of places. I get a bit stressed like I’m lost in a maze of appliances and everything just sort of mulches together in front of me. Thankfully Ikea was relatively quiet, not a child in sight and the car park wasn’t packed either. I found what I wanted quite quickly thanks to the staff and I was in and out in thirty minutes. I also noticed the grocery section on the way out – it’s called the Swedish Food Market. Some of the dried goods and some of the frozen goods look really well in Ikea and I wondered does anyone shop there at present? If so are they any good? I’m thinking I might pick some things up next time I’m there. On another note Aldi opens on June 9, not long now folks (Yes I get excited about groceries, don’t judge me).
Now, this week….I wonder what you have in store for me.
xx
Sandi

Social Change: The Love Thread Project
Social Change: The Love Thread Project
It is not often that I am moved by fashion. In fact, it’s probably wasn’t even possible until I heard about the Love Thread Project.
I don’t really like fashion. I know this is a crazy statement to make in a fashion forward world particularly when my sister is a serious fashionista Demelza Buckley. I have tended towards other things like the writing and acting. (more…)

Nude lipstick: lips like Kylie
I know I’ve been a bit of a serious Sandi lately and trust me, that side of me hasn’t gone yet! But lately, I’ve been researching a far softer topic: Kylie Jenners lip situations. Now just so you know I’m a lipstick obsessed lady but the nude look just confused me. I didn’t really get it.
Why wear lipstick to look like you are not wearing lipstick?
That was before I tried to duplicate the lipekit…

2015: A personal education 2016: Soft goal setting
It’s easy to reflect on the past year and decide whether it was good or bad. I myself am unable to decide but I do know that I learned a lot.
Goal 1: Keep Learning.
I did a lot of things in 2015 but nothing too brave or bold. I took some chances and they fell flat on their face but others have paid off. In the end does a failure cancel out a success? I feel somewhat balanced by the whole…

The 10 things I learned by going home to Ireland for Christmas.
T I’ve been living in Perth for 5.5 years. Every once in a while I miss an event that really upsets me. It can be Christmas or a parents birthday or the endless amounts of 30th birthday parties. Coming home is tough, flights are getting more expensive and some jobs don’t pay as much in Perth anymore. I decided I really needed to come home this year. It wasn’t an easy decision considering I now…
