LockHost

Ive been looking for a system term to describe myself for a while, and decided fuck it we ball and made one myself

A lockhost is an alter in a system that seems to be the 'main' host, and is almost always fronting. They may also decribe themself as 'front-locked' or 'front sticky,' but this may not always be the case. They may be able to leave front or the front area, but are usually aware of whats going on with front anyways, and they are quite often pulled back to front within a short period of time. Because of this, they usually become the bodies 'main identity' in a system.

Other alters may use the identity of the lockhost as a mask in the case that they do not want to show themself, and may also interact with or control the body via the lockhost. In the case of a lockhost being an introject, it would not be uncommon for several doubles of the lockhosts source to also be present in the system.

Lockhosts may also act similarly to 'Observers,' in that they are always aware of the body to some degree, and can quickly be pulled to front in the case that they happen to not be fronting in the traditional sense. The lockhost may also serve many other roles in the system, but not always.

In the case of a lockhost also being part of a subsystem or side system, they may or may not be a lockhost of those as well.

Mindfront: A term for plurals, derivative of "mindform", denoting a system member's status as "in front" within the mind/their mental form, but not necessarily externally, bodily fronting. Many subsystems share a mental form or other inherent connection, and switch between whom is most aware in that subsystem without any effect on bodily front. This is intended for these members and any others that could utilize the concept of "fronting within the mind/headspace".

ex. A system consists of Host A and Subsystem B, with two members. Host A is in front, and Subsystem B is in headspace, with Subsystem member B1 doing things out of bodily front. B1 is mindfronting in their mental form. B1 encounters something their subsystem member enjoys within headspace, so member B2 switches to mindfront and continues headspace activities. Host A may or may not be aware of this; mindfronting generally has no inherent connection with bodily front.

a dynamic fictive is a fictive that changes along with their source! they may change in appearance, gain new memories, adopt new mannerisms or have new opinions!

things that may cause a dynamic fictive to change are:

✖️ a system’s own headcanons for their source changing

a static fictive is the opposite of a dynamic fictive. they stay just as they were when introjected in spite of any updates to their source!

swankid - an alter role relating to syskids/young alters who have mature trauma, usually relating to sexual trauma and the like.

a more kid-friendly alternative for littlex in the case that an alter/system isnt comfortable with the term 'little' for system children.

the swan represents a gentle reminder to the alters experiences while also not revealing too much information, alluding to life-altering bonds formed in youth. swans are generally seen as elegant and youthful, symbolizing innocence and childhood.

this is not meant to romantizice or glamourize the alters trauma, but to make it feel as if it's not something gross or wrong with them.

Coining A System Term

since we cant find one that fits

“Sunset”

Sunset as a term describes the state of two alters, and or the state of a subsystem. In this state two or more alters appear as one alter in headspace, similar to a subsystem, however in this state the boundaries between these two alters may seem fluid. At times they may be two distinct alters in a subsystem, other times they often may seem, speak and or feel like one alter, or often temporarily fuse, blend, or merge into one alter, other times it may be that they only partially feel/seem the same/are fused ect, or one alter is more prominent in the fusion/mix/merge ect of the two alters.

Examples using phrases, Yellow is alter one, red is alter two, orange is the 3rd fused/mixed alter.  

“Today I (yellow) am front, Red isn’t front right now”

“Red is front but I feel partially mixed with yellow”

“Orange is front today, we are currently sunsetted”

Subsystems, who identify as a sunset, may use the term “sunset subsystem”.

Sunsets can also have their own “headspace” or layer in headspace that acts like a headspace. 

Sunsets can either be formed as sunsets, or two or more system members may “fuse” into a sunset.

Some sunsets may name their mixed state. They may also see their sunsetted state as a separate alter, or they may not. 

“Sunsetting/Sunsetted”

Sunsetting is a term to describe when a sunset is mixed/fused/feels as if the same alter/ect. It may also be used by those who fused into a sunset, to describe the action of fusing into a sunset.

The term was inspired by the characters Sun and Moon, From the game FNAF;SB, due to their state of being one in the same but not ONE in the same perfectly described the feeling of being a sunset, as well as their eclipsed state being the perfect example of what being sunsetted may be/feel like. 

Despite this I also find garnet from SU also describes the feeling quite well.

Bodyic / Bodic

[PT: Bodyic / Bodic]

A term in which the body has a identity relating to [thing] or identifies with/as [thing] in a way that affects the system, even though it's not a collective identity

Bodyic is inspired by plurid [link] by @ix-c-999, and is intended to be a counterpart term for plurals who's body has a separate identity to the collective identity in someway (EG: gender, orientation, alterhumanity, ect), especially for when the bodies identity still has some affect on the system regardless.

Obviously feel free to edit that definition as much as needed for any terms, it's there as an explanation and example, not as a set rule as to how to define a bodyic term!

Something I will never understand is why Anti-Endos will create and coin terms and flags, and then gatekeep them from Endogenic systems (and often people who support them too).

Like... You're creating a term that can benefit people, then using your bigoted platform to gatekeep said term from people that term could benefit??? All because you don't agree with someone and how they identify????

The way I look at it, you should either make a term that benefits EVERYONE, not just the people you cherrypick, or you don't make the term at all. Gatekeeping plural terms and flags is extremely rude, hurtful, and bigoted, not to mention immature, too. It's no different than a TERF coining an LGBTQ term/flag but then saying "Anyone who's Trans cannot use this term!!!!"

You're allowed to coin terms. You're allowed to disagree with people, and how they identify. But as soon as you coin a term and immediately turn around to be exclusionary with it, I'm sorry, but I consider that term fair use if you like it or not. What, you're gonna ask someone to change their identity simply because you don't like it?

What's an alternative to "host" as a system term? We've got a fictive who's a parasite and he feels kinda awkward calling me that because of the implications.

You know, host is actually a weird term when you think about it, since it does sort of give the impression of parasites or demonic possession.

It doesn't really seem like a word that would just refer to the headmate who fronts the most.

Personally, I think a more accurate term would be "Primary Fronter." That is obviously a mouthful, but it could be shortened to Primary or even Prime.

a mustērian system, also called an enigmatic system, is a system who doesn’t know where they lie on the median-to-multiple scale, to a point where not knowing is the identity!

this term is used in the same way one would use “median” or “multiple,” as in a mustērian system.

the name mustērian comes from the greek root mustērion, with the o changed to an a to fit the parasian / mesosian / diversian scheme. mustērian can be considered a subset of median.

the flag comes from the parasian, mesosian, and diversian flags by fallen hearts galaxy.

doekid - in relation to swankid, a alter role relating to syskids/young alters who hold/carry trauma specifically related to family and family dynamics. this can be from any kind of trauma.

coined in part to help describe why a doekid may be more attached or repulsed from familial figures, and the complex relationships that come from having this experience.

the doe represents a childlike mindset, and is meant to reference the common symbolism found in deer families, such as bambi. it is meant to shine a soft, gentle light on how a kid might hold something so heavy, and to make the experience less scary.
