FIRST DAY OF LECTURES FINISHED ♡⸜(ˆᗜˆ˵ )⸝♡
I'm really looking forward to this semester! My modules this semester are organic chemistry and biochemistry and cell biology and I've been busy keeping up with pre reading and making flashcards. My friends say its too soon to start revising but if I don't do it now, when will I do it?
Today I spent 3hr30min studying and I'm very proud of myself :)
1hr30min -> reading up on the lab tomorrow + pre lab test
1hr -> revising functional groups and hybridisation
1hr -> revising amino acid structures and protein structure and function
RIGHT NOW I'M TIRED SO I'M GOING TO SLEEP RAHH
STUDY GRIND 2025!!!

It's been a bit of a lazy week but that's okay, I suspect everything will get busier next week; I have two labs and an adviser meeting to talk about how I'm doing so far.
Still don't have exam results back ꃋᴖꃋ
Someone new has moved into my flat and the first sin they committed was moving my things in the fridge. The cheek!
On Saturday I'm going to over to my friend's house and play some mario cart and have some drinks it should be good (and potentially a little dangerous since everyone tends to get a little heated).

It's been a while since I posted anything, but now that I have no exams (yippeee) I can be more active on here.
My chemistry exam was better than I thought it would be and the biology exam was very good too. Overall, I think I've passed both modules which means I won't have to resit in the summer (double yippee).
This week is free so I'm going to catch up on things I enjoy which have been very neglected. I also need to keep reminding myself to be nice to be nice to myself so I don't burn out.
Some goals for the coming week will be:
Go out on a few walks
Look up on the next modules for this semester
READ READ READ
watch some grey's anatomy
play genshin impact ;3
unpack (I still haven't unpacked my suitcase and i've been at uni for a week whoops)
Hopefully this week will be productive and I feel ready for lectures to start again next week.

JUST FINISHED ONE OF THE EXAMS FOR ONE OF MY MODULES WORTH 70% OF MY GRADE YIPPEEEEEEE.
So glad to finally have that all put behind me ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )
1/2 exams down and I have my final exam for biology on Friday.
I like biology more so hopefully revising for that will be easier.
Taking breaks when you are tired and staying hydrated is key to efficient revision.
ESPECIALLY if you don't enjoy the subject.
For me, creating flashcards using the blurting method helps me to just get everything I know down and focus on what I don't know.
Plans for tomorrow:
-> practise questions for bio
-> food shop
Now I'm going to take a well deserved rest ♡⸜(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⸝♡
Bye for now!

.• ⁀➴ Productivity .• ⁀➴
One of the biggest things I struggle with is being productive. That's why I use the forest app for productivity.
How it works is you can set a running timer or a countdown for however long you want and in that time you will grow a tree or plant of any kind. The app helps you to feel accountable because if you come off of the forest app at any time during the timer/ countdown the tree will die :(. However this is a quick fix, you can adjust the settings to allow some or all apps to run whilst the timer is going. This is good if you don't have a lot of devices available to you, since I've seen a lot of people having one tablet/ ipad to study with and another to act as a separate timer.
There is the option to get more trees, you just need to buy them in the store. Don't worry, as you plant more and more trees you receive coins depending on how long you've planted a tree for. These coins can be used to buy the trees.
My personal favourite right now is the geranium. It changes colours the longer you leave it running the result of planting for different times looks really nice. I've always been a visual learner so things like this really appeal to me. The visualisation of my time spent well is what motivates me to do more and feel proud of myself, and the little plants are so cute (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
Tumblr media
It works on desktop, android and ios (although you might have to pay). Nevertheless, if it sounds like something that might help you study a little better, I'd definitely recommend!
Bye for now! ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

Aspirations for the blog
I made this blog because quite honestly I'm sick to death of feeling hopeless and like time is running away from me. Procrastination has been a nasty habit of mine that I've tried (and failed) to kick, however this time I'm determined to vanquish this beast.
My plan for this blog is to check in daily with anything I think would be helpful to remind myself and others and to gauge my progress throughout the year. Things like daily motivation and whatever comes to mind really ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). I've never done anything like this before so I hope it works?!?!?
A bit about me
I'm a first year biochemistry student from the UK. I'm 20 years old and of Irish descent. I have a special interest in genetics and biology and hopefully if all goes well I want to specialise in that field and get into biotechnology. There's a lot of ethical barriers with it but nevertheless I think its cool.
I like playing genshin impact, honkai star rail, stardew valley, marvel rivals and pokemon. My favourite types of books are crime thrillers and romance. I want to start reading more classical books and my first on the list is Crime and Punishment. Any recommendations are appreciated ;)
I like anime; currently I'm watching Dandadan. My favourite anime is attack on titan.
That's it for now, thanks for reading ٩>ᴗ<)و
