Hey so I'm really new to this and a college student like you, I just wanted to ask how you managed your studies. I've noticed that I need a visual/auditory stimuli to even start and concentrate on anything. This has affected my studies a lot. People around me tell me to eliminate distractions but that leads me to feeling low and ultimately even less productive. Sorry for the dump, your blog literally made me cry at how relatable it was.

Honestly, I’m... probably not the best person to ask for college-related advice, because I’m not exactly a straight-A student. I struggle a lot, and I’m averaging at a C grade at the minute.

But, I’ll tell you what I do.

I always bring my laptop to class rather than writing out my notes, (means I can write faster, and don’t have to spend time worrying about making it look neat and pretty) and I keep it open on a split-screen - I have my notes open on one side, and I tend to have my tumblr askbox / a discord server open on the other side. Sometimes it means I get a little distracted, but most of the time it just gives me motivation to write the notes as fast as I can, because if I can write everything down quickly I know I can spend a few minutes doing something fun afterwards. 

In the two of my classes where the teacher mostly just reads of Powerpoints, I always put my headphones in one ear and quietly play a video of ASMR (no talking) typing sounds. I like the noise a lot, and I think it helps motivate me to keep writing because I like recreating the noise.

If I’m doing homework outside of class, then I’ll either listen to music or to typing sounds while I work. 

For people with ADHD, eliminating distractions is never the way to go! If we attempt to eliminate all distractions, we’ll feel uncomfortable in the silence, because we need that stimulation. The trick is to control the distractions. So; if I’m trying to write an essay in class and the girls behind me won’t stop talking, I’ll play music through my headphones loud enough to drown them out. 

But if we try and remove distractions, we’ll simply create our own. If we can’t have music, our minds will just start playing one song on repeat and drive us mad as we try to remember the words. If we have music, it’s mindless stimulation that we can ignore as we work. 

Most of the time, our problem isn’t with doing a task, but with starting it. So if you have work to do, telling yourself that you just need to write the first paragraph of the essay, or answer the first five questions on the sheet of paper can help. It makes it feel like less work, so it’s easier to do - and once you’ve done those first five questions, it feels like it would take more effort to stop and convince yourself to carry on with it later than it would to just carry on with it now. 

But if you do want to stop after five questions, then stop. Even if that’s all you do, it’s a lot better than nothing. And just knowing that you can stop if you want to can be enough of a comfort to help you carry on.

I want you to reblog this if you believe that two people can be very close and physically affectionate with one another, but still have a completely nonsexual, non-romantic relationship.

Because the friendship I share with someone I consider family in a way that transcends blood has been typecast as a romantic relationship ENTIRELY too many times, and I’m beginning to get sick of it.

The hard truth of the matter is that not everyone gets an arch-nemesis.

There will always be more villains around than there are heroic protagonists, so it’s not like you can just pair off on a 1:1 ratio.

You will likely have to share your hero with several other villains. While it’s true that heroes often have one particular villain that they consider to be their true nemesis, there’s no guarantee that that villain is going to be you.

I realize this can be frustrating. Your hero might not be able to give you the attention you feel you deserve, but I urge you not to do anything stupid. Don’t bite off more than you can chew. If you’ve never built a death ray or a doomsday device before, do not attempt to do so now in a misguided attempt to elevate your threat in your hero’s eyes. Work up to it. Start small and build from there, making a name and reputation for yourself as you go. Absolutely do not murder their loved ones right off the bat.

If you want to become someone’s arch-nemesis, the best thing you can do is to focus on self-improvement. Stop worrying so much about what your hero thinks and worry about what works for you. Become a well-rounded villain, develop your schtick, work on your evil laugh, practice some improv dialogue until you can deliver a menacing speech with appropriate panache at the drop of a hat, and cultivate a unique and memorable aesthetic. If it’s meant to be, your hero will notice!

One mistake I notice frequently in rookie villains is a tendency to settle for sidekicks. You do not want to be the arch-nemesis of a sidekick if you can help it, because that’s a difficult hole to drag yourself out of. Once a sidekick’s villain, always a sidekick’s villain. If the sidekick is young, there’s a small chance that they will eventually graduate onto independent hero status, but the retention rate is low and it’s not worth the risk. Young sidekicks also tend to want to reinvent themselves when they become independent, which means shedding old enemies and establishing new nemecidal relationships with fresh faces.

Well dang,, Tencent Entertainment is responsible of the donghua of MDZS... rip me trying to find any media to consume and enjoy because capitalism is literally hell.

If you’ve been posting in favor of BLM for the past couple of weeks, but intend to play Pokemon Unite despite knowing that it is being designed and published by Tencent, you are the definition of a hypocrite. 

Tencent built the Sesame Credit app that is preparing to become mandatory across mainland China. To briefly define what it is, it’s a program that influences your real-world financial credit score based on your social media interactions. Like and share acceptable propaganda, your credit score will increase. Like or share something the government doesn’t like, your credit score decreases. If you’re even so much as friends with someone who likes or shares something the government dislikes, it affects your score too. Thereby limiting who people are willing to associate with, and what they’re willing to learn. 

It also affects citizens based on individual purchases. If you buy something like video games, or non-approved books, or anything that’s not a “necessity”, this can lower your credit score as well, since the app is targeted to flag you as a “non-ideal citizen”. (Kind of ironic then that they program video games too, with micro-transactions, but I guess a lot of companies will have double standards for profit these days). 

Tencent is also the company that encouraged Blizzard to suppress players from speaking out about freeing Hong Kong. A revolution that is still ongoing, where Hong Kong citizens are fighting to secure their democratic freedom, and where protesters are being tortured or even executed. 

While this is going on, also keep in mind that there are other protests going on, because the mainland government in northwest China is rounding up and keeping approximately 1.8 Uyghur Muslims in re-education (concentration) camps, so that they may gain access to more energy resources and trading routes. 

Tencent is one of the main companies behind keeping atrocities like this silenced.
