“I wish it could be just us here,”

Ethan’s words didn’t echo, though they held space under the bridge. His face was bathed in shades of yellow from the nearby light post. He was flushed a light pink at his pointed nose and defined cheeks from the cold. His almond-shaped eyes were full—so full of life.

Annabeth wasn’t sure what he saw in her.

She was dead.

Nearly there, anyway. She wasn’t nearly alive enough for him to warrant risking his life to see her.

“It is just us,” Annabeth insisted. Her every word was pained.

Why was she seeing him? She supposed the life within him was compelling. It was one of the only good compelling things she’d seen lately.

“No,” Ethan insisted, tucking a hair behind Annabeth’s ear. “There’s a presence here. I suppose there always was one, but…maybe it’ll be vanquished in Elysium.”

Vanquished. Elysium.

Ethan had hope, though he knew the risks. He spoke of equality and believed he was fighting for it.

Why was Annabeth seeing him?

This was only going to end in flames.

“This is all my fault. I could have prevented it, but I wasn’t good enough. I failed you, Ethan.”

I’m thinking about Alabaster summoning Ethan’s ghost after his death. I can’t believe that I was in the mood to draw Ethabaster angst at 8 am, but here we are. Enjoy, I guess.

Lazel headcanons?

Please, I need more of this ship!!!!

You ask I deliver! :

In an AU where Frazel are just friends, the Leo/Sammy/Hazel headache would take a lot more space and time. Once Hazel explained the reason for her weird behaviour, the awkwardness is on

The Echo chapter but with a very jealous Hazel who still doesn't know why she's jealous and doesn't want to allow herself to be jealous. So just a stuttering mess trying to put fake tattoos on Leo and to ignore the girl putting some on her other arm that he's joking with

After this adventure she'd see the heroic side of him more, but again, she'd still feel like she's projecting Sammy on him.

They would be just friends for the rest of the quest but way closer than in Canon.

I can see Leo being Hazel's rock after she met Hekate, just like she would be for him when he worked on the astrolabe.

Leo makes her laugh very easily, one minute with him and she's laughing more than she has her entire life

But on the other hand, he'd also be the one she'd confide herself to, beside Frank. They're the kind to stay up at night in fear of nightmares.

I can see Hazel having a hard time falling asleep and roaming around the ship until she hears Leo working with Festus.

She ends up helping him until they both fall asleep under Festus' watch

Night after night, they'd start confinding into each other and discovering they both stay awake for the same reason : fear. Then would come the memories sharing, and they'd talk about their parents. Then they would discover that they both are afraid of their own powers because of what "they did" to their mothers.

Then comes your classic "I give you advice I realize should actually follow myself"

And from this point on they would be each other's best cheerleader, in awe of every use they'd make of their powers.

Nights after nights, Hazel learns a lot about mechanic and becomes the best assistant Leo ever had. He brings out her most daring side, while she brings out his sweetest.

Festus grows very fond of Hazel, and Arion...has his opinion on Leo. Mainly critical. But he can find him funny from time to time so hey there's that.

Now on to the "Sammy point"......it's complicated

They aren't sure if what they start feeling for each other is related to this estranged but still common history they have.

But I love to imagine Leo ending up on Ogygia as the turning point : Hazel realizes how it goes beyond him reminding her of Sammy, that she is truly heartbroken to imagine he might be dead. While Leo realizes how much he misses and fears for Hazel more than himself while stranded on this island.

Long story short : Leo and Calypso become friend and he swears to come back for her. And one of the reasons why is because he sees Hazel in her.

That's what he'll tell her when he'll finally "come back from the dead" with the nymph (because ofc he'll go back to Camp Jupiter first just to see her) : that he went back and saved her from her prison the way his abuelo saved her from her bully, and the way he wished he could have saved her from the Fields of Asphodel

They start dating when he's back, because while everyone slaps Leo for scaring them, Hazel goes for the kiss with no double thinking

And after a year or two of Leo flying from one camp to the other as their ambassador, Leo is convinced by Reyna to settle down in New Roma, with the bonus of his very own mechanic workshop and store.

getting back into the percy jackson fandom and i can’t lie this is fr pissing me off bc why is caleo being dogged on so bad💀 like i get not liking a ship but the VISCERAL hatred people have towards calypso is actual insanity (+your misogyny is showing, let’s be for real). also calypso isn’t a pedophile for falling in love with teenaged demigods who are shipwrecked on her island, THATS PART OF HER CURSE, SHE CAN’T HELP IT. also ngl guys i think being a god (titan) means aging hits a little differently 😭😭😭 anyway i don’t even care that much about this ship just everyone needs to cool it. calypso is so misunderstood it’s insane—she’s cursed for all eternity by the gods because she takes the side of her family in the titan war or whatever, she’s abandoned (from her pov) by percy who PROMISED to free her, she literally has no one and nothing in the brand new world she’s stepping into w leo. WILD TO ME to hate her so bad. sorry she’s mean to leo sometimes and their relationship is imperfect, it’s almost like neither of them have any idea what they’re doing. sorry she has moral failings AND dares to be female. i know that combo is hard for you guys.

Pipeyna headcanons?

piper dresses reyna up ALL THE TIME

they do little crafty things together

piper always goes all out for valentine’s, not because she believes in it necessarily, but because she thinks it’s fun

reyna likes to make piper breakfast in bed every weekend

they volunteer at animal shelters

piper falls in love with a cat and adopts it

reyna hates the cat (not really)

the cat hates reyna (yes really)

they like to go hiking, just do really active stuff as dates

piper teaches reyna how to take care of her skin, which results in many a spa night in their home
