Once again sick over the parallels between Peeta and Maysilee 😭

1. Both come from in-town/merchant families. Both had a low likelihood of getting selected for the games due to not needing tessera.

2. Neither want the Capitol to own them (they both talk about it before their games - Peeta wishing he could prove that he’s more than just a piece in the games, and Maysilee wanting to die with her head up aka no begging or pleading with the Capitol for her life).

3. They both know how to play an audience (Peeta with the pregnancy angle, and Maysilee using her snappy attitude to lure in the audience).

4. They both protect their district partner from Careers in moments that could have easily lead to their deaths (Peeta protecting Katniss from Cato after the tracker jacker incident, and Maysilee protecting Haymitch from Panache during their duel). Also worth noting that both Cato and Panache purposefully targeted Katniss and Haymitch! Wow!

And obv so much more!

We know Katniss and Haymitch have a million and one parallels, but it’s just as heartbreaking to see the same connections between Peeta and Maysilee 😭
