Guys I bit the bullet and am working on my own version of the Warrior Penelope AU! Here’s the specifics:

So in my AU most characters aren't going to swap but I will have

Odysseus and Penelope

Eurylochus and Ctimene

Polites and Iphthime (Penelope's sister)

Antinous and Calypso

Circe and Eurymachus

Melanthius and Melantho (his sister in the Odyssey)

And various other suitors and crew members are just gender swapped because I can't think of characters to switch them with. All of the gods (not counting Calypso and Circe I suppose) and monsters stay the same.

I'm going to say that most of the soldiers in the war were men, but the Ithacan army is special being made up of all women. Telemachus still trains to be a warrior at home because he knows that while his island's soldiers are all women, in the rest of Greece it's normal for men to be (he believes that anyone who wants to be a warrior should be).
