A while back I was on @siriuslymoonspod (the episode just went up, check out their stuff especially if you like harry potter cause it’s really good and interesting), and it was a lot of fun despite how goddam nervous I was! 

The topics were engaging and easier for me to answer than i was expecting, and it was just really welcoming and a friendly environment, 10/10 would podcast again. (this sounds like a trip adviserreview or something lmao)  

As a thanks I doodled @jennandblitz and @purplechimera8 while trying out some brushes and trying some new stuff with my style. Thank you lads!!

I loved your 1st episode, &I was just thinking about the wandlore discussion & had a bit of epiphany. I'm not sure what it adds up to exactly but it seemed interesting to me! You guys got into a great discussion about the significance/associations of a wand made of willow wood being swishy, graceful, weaving, etc. & it just occurred to me that one of the few trees prominent in canon is the Whomping Willow, which sorta subverts those things. Interesting, no? I look forward to ep2!! -thehufflebean

That’s such an interesting association! The Whomping Willow is exactly not graceful and weaving and such! But then, I think a lot of the flora and fauna in the HP series are there to subvert our expectations of those things? If anything that’s what makes them magical?

I’m very sorry to say that I haven’t been listening to your podcasts, I hardly have time for anything right now but I promise I’ll catch up. I like your first episode very much. It's most likely that it's not the first time Sirius lent Hagrid the motorbike: Hagrid knew what he was doing with it. Or Hagrid has learned to ride a flying motorbike somewhere else. He must have known what he was doing enough to be trusted with an infant while steering a motorbike through the air. Even mad with grief, I can't imagine that Sirius would have given Harry to Hagrid if he had known that Harry would be taken to the Dursleys to be raised by them.

i suppose i’ll weigh in a little on the discussion about how people flippity flop strong remus into having some sort of handicap depending on magical/muggle. i think it might be because of the oppression that werewolves face in the magical community, so people try to like mimic that in the form of the oppression handicapped people face. mayhaps???

Oooh @confunded-main I like that idea! That’s such an interesting thought! The oppression part of it was something we didn’t touch on, but you’ll bet we’ll talk about it next week!

After listening to @siriuslymoonspod today I was inspired by the wonderful nerdy discussion, and made d&d characters for James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, Lily, Regulus, Dorcas, and Marlene. I didn’t go as in depth as I could have (yes, I reigned in some of the nerd,) but mostly cause I’m exhausted today.

Anywho, here are the first two. I’ll post some more tmrw. I used a website that does stat rolls for you, and they’re all sort of a combo of who they are personality wise, and what I think they would want to play, to make a full raid party. (Perhaps a future d&d au will come of this? who knows)

A little comic idea about Charms, wands, and Lily & Sirius' friendship

Ok so the @siriuslymoonspod’s first episode made me rethink of a comic idea i won’t have time to make, probably. (Also, subscribe and listen to it, Jenn and Purple are lovely and wonderful, and have amazing thoughts and reccs so, what are you doing not listening to them and sending them love ???)

Bref. Comic idea.

I wanted to make a thing for a while, of Lily and Sirius having a friendly competition/rivalry in Charms. She has the perfect wand for it, and we’ve seen Sirius being an excellent dueler and wizard in general, so he is obviously very good at it.

They help each other/rile each other up about homeworks, it’s probably the only subject Sirius will invest time in, because his rivalry with Lily makes it FUN. The rest of the time he just uses natural knowledge of magic. It feels like Sirius would be naturally gifted and extremely knowledgable in magic to me. I like the runes on his wand, i imagine him getting power cathalyst tattoos on himself because magic flows in him in powerful surges… Anyway, he is confident, arrogant about it even, probably, and i like the idea of Lily challenging him in Charms.

I always wanted to make a comic of Lily going to him for a Charm advice. He would be like “what ? YOU had problems with this week’s assignment ? Oh, Lily” but she would take him aside (because he would obviously be hanging out with James and the Marauders) and tell him about a petal/goldfish charm she’s trying to create for a gift.

She would have charmed the perfect movement and make the petal swim/flow in the air perfectly, a magical dancing petal, graceful and delicate. Sirius would be mesmerized by such beautiful magic. But the petal doesn’t really look like a fish, and the effect she wants isn’t there.

He teases her, saying she could have asked James for a Transfiguration’s advice, because he is super skilled at it and he saw the way Lily stole glances at his best friend/brother. But she would tell him that she would like to make a similar gift to James one day, and wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise. Sirius would grin at her blush and internally scream “i SHIP THEM” but stay calm and help her out.

Together they would create a beautifully crafted Charm, with a smidge of Transfiguration theory in it, Sirius is skilled in Transfiguration too afterall. And they would be so proud and happy in this moment. Probably hug, because they love each other and accomplished beautiful magic together. 

They probably used the Charm for little gifts and toys offered to Harry once he is born. Maybe Sirius charmed flower petals at the Jily wedding for the ambiance, and she would laugh/cry at him because she knows this is their Charm.

Well… I could go on. But voilà, a little comic idea i have and don’t have time to draw.

Thank you so much Jenn and Purple for your wand material’s talk, it made me think of this again, and this thought has been close to my heart for a while. This is what talking about Lily’s wand inspired me, and i love when parts of canon inspire me little headcanons like this 💖 i hope other people will like it too

Okay I absolutely LOVE the discussion about how strong werewolf Remus in magical universes flips to handicapped Remus in muggle AU. That was sooo interesting to think about and gave me a lot of thoughts for planning my own fics for the future. ((And I love me some strong Remus.))

Thank you @shadowprince27 ! It was definitely such an interesting discussion, I felt like we could’ve talked about hours for that! I think it’s something we could all absolutely explore in our fics too! I’m so excited to see where the thought process takes you!
