I love the way light pollution looks on the clouds. It makes them look like desserts, like vanilla and chocolate ice cream whipped together

So, you’ve dipped your toes into the magical waters, and now you’re curious about jinxes. What are they? How do they work? And most importantly, should you use them? Let’s unravel the mystery of jinxes:
What’s a Jinx? 🌟
A jinx is like the mischievous cousin of spells. It’s not as intense as a curse, but it’s more than a playful flick of the wand.
Imagine casting a spell to make someone’s coffee perpetually lukewarm. That’s a jinx!
Jinxes vs. Hexes vs. Curses 🌚
Jinxes: These are minor annoyances. Think of them as magical pranks. You cast a jinx, and your target spills their tea or steps on a Lego.
Hexes: A step up from jinxes. Hexes pack a bit more punch. They’re like the magical equivalent of side-eyeing someone.
Curses: Now we’re getting serious. Curses are long-lasting and harmful. They’re like the magical equivalent of a cosmic slap.
When to Jinx? 🌈
Jinxes are for those moments when you want to send a little cosmic side-eye. Maybe your neighbor keeps stealing your parking spot, or your ex won’t stop texting you.
Cast a jinx to make their shoelaces perpetually untie or their phone autocorrect everything to “banana.”
Ethics and Intentions 🌿
Remember, magic reflects your intentions. If you’re feeling vengeful, pause and reconsider.
Ask yourself: Is this jinx necessary? Will it harm anyone? Is it worth the magical energy?
Release the Jinx 🌟
Set an expiration date for your jinx. Maybe a week, a month, or until they apologize for stealing your lunch from the office fridge.
Remember, magic is a tool. Use it wisely.
So, beginner witch, go forth and use this baneful magic responsibly! May your spells be sassy and your intentions kind. ✨🔮🌙

***I understand that cursing is a controversial topic for some people. I don't believe in the threefold's law or whatnot, so such things aren't a concern for me. I do, however, advise you to only curse someone who truly deserves it. Curses are meant to be permanent and difficult to break, while hexes aren't nearly as potent. Do with that knowledge what you will. Intense spells will be marked with "***".***

No, okay, I'm sorry but somebody needs to talk about Aqua Crysta.
It's my current reread and I'm low-key obsessed with it, like this most wholesome story of a brother and sister on a sweet adventure in Yorkshire going down a well into a magical, miniature kingdom, in a cavern of crystal and magical foamy waters and an eternally flickering candle that is the very soul of this underground haven, helping Dave the kingdom from the above grounders... Look, it's just really the sweetest, cosiest read, I think you'll love it, honestly. Even if you only read just the first book (which is fair because the others are hard to find, I only have three) it's just so great and a good standalone if need be. And the second one is set around Christmas.

Has nobody read Aqua Crysta? It was such a cute book series when I was a kid. I never got to finish it and still struggle to find all the books. Imagine the borrowers but in a crystal cave with magic. Honestly, studio Ghibli needs to get on this asap.

Rewatching Bee and Puppycat made me realize something. This show is all about failure, specifically in the workplace.
Bee begins the show fired from her job, in a studio apartment, unsure what she wants to do in her life, taking temp jobs
Puppycat is scolded as a child that if he doesn’t learn to do *something* he’ll end up as a candy collector. Which he does, and fails to do that too when his relationship wrecks his life.
Violet was pulled down along with him. She can’t even live, she’s in a coma!
Deckard is flunking out of cooking school because he can’t bake (yet).
Cas was at the bottom of her boxing league, then forces herself to do software coding, which she doesn’t enjoy.
Toast has now been degraded to the bottom of the league, due to Cas leaving.
Crispin ran away to the circus, and it looks like he’s trying to make art now?
Howell can’t cook like Deckard, so he struggles to keep the cat café in business.
When Tim was flipping through his notebook, it’s revealed that Merlin did not graduate from medical school after all!
I think this show is trying to explain that failure is ok. Taking time for yourself is ok. Pursuing your passions doesn’t guarantee success. Sometimes we have to work jobs we’re good at, but don’t really like to pay the bills. Like Cas’s clock constantly reminds her, WORK OR STARVE! But we never despair for these characters. They find joy with each other. I also like that the show allows time between the chaos to showcase beautiful scenery, characters relaxing, eating yummy food. I’m excited to see more of the series, and where these characters failures take them next!

i want to live by the sea, a storm brewing on the horizon, lightning reflected in the crashing waves of the ocean, the smell of salt clinging to my skin as i cast spells on the rocky shores with wind ripping through my hair.

journalling for beginners
Tumblr media
i began keeping journals about a year ago, and believe it’s a wonderful hobby for just about anyone!
keeping track of various things in your life can bring a number of benefits, you can begin to recognise all the small things you feel grateful for, and help you process difficult situations - it can help you learn about yourself, find your voice and talk about things you might be uncomfortable to do so out-loud.
tips for a daily journal ;
📕 it doesn’t really have to be daily, it should be something you enjoy, and if you don’t have the energy, there’s no need to beat yourself up
🖊️ if you are running low on energy, but still need to get your thoughts out, you can always just do some doodles, short sentences or scribbles, just to help you untangle your mind
📕 sharing pictures of your journal is fun, but it’s best to feel open and free in what you write - i find it beneficial to keep a journal just for me, so i feel comfortable adding anything
🖊️ be honest with yourself, you don’t need to put on a performance for anyone else here
📕 date your entries to help you keep track of your moods and thoughts
🖊️ not feeling up for self-reflection? record simple things - draw an object nearby, write about an animal you saw, or make a list of things you did today
📕 don’t put pressure on yourself, your journal doesn’t need to be aesthetically pleasing, or beautifully written, you don’t need to have perfect grammar or a fancy notebook to enjoy journalling
