The Gotham gangs all pigeonhole Red Hood as a guns guy, so they think they’ve won when they corner him during a firefight and he finally — finally — runs out of ammo.
Jason just shrugs, flips his pistols around in his hands, and starts using them as clubs until he loses them and reverts to straight-out, Gotham-dirty brawling as the goons suddenly realize that, yeah, this 6’4 260 lb freak was trained by Batman “the teeth obliterator” himself.

i completely agree that jason could have better development for sure!! but, i do also think that the direction of his development is very important. this is just my personal preference but i feel like its much more impactful for jason to stick with what he thinks is right. other than haunting bruce, he really just wants to protect the children of gotham. he was a street kid! and while bruce is his father and gave him new and better opportunities, i feel like jason is too stubborn to change where his loyalties lie. especially since we do see him change the crime rate in the city; im positive that when he saw he was making a difference, there would be no stopping him. jason being one of bruces biggest adversaries has so much potential and is filled with so much tasty anguish! it also is a great opportunity to show how different/similar their views of gotham city are. they both grew up in gotham but jason had to fend for himself most of his childhood while bruce had the recourses a child needs. the way they were impacted by the city would definitely effect how they think they could fix it! to me, jason not doing things his way bc daddy told him to stop doesnt make much sense and is way less impactful. i just feel like its changing what he’s become and what he believes in to make the relationship between him and his father work when it really doesnt need to work.
how people want bruce and jasons relationship to be vary from person to person. sometimes people want more comfort from it but i personally wish to be ripped limb from limb. bruce remembering his sweet son while looking him in the face; resurrected, vengeful, stubborn, violent , etc etc… its so sad. theres so much anguish in seeing what his son became; and that carrying on through them seeing each other time and time again in the city is so wonderful and moving to me. i love the idea of them both being haunted by each other
sorry for the long reply LOL im half awake, i apologize
fanon characterizations of many dc characters have become so normalized <many many thoughts on this. a post for later perhaps> that we often forget where the actual soul lies in them. people often forget how strange jason todd is. everything he does is to prove his point and it is so abundantly clear that he would do Anything to show that. (his point being that he was never properly avenged/that he was replaced/that he was Murdered.) no matter whos life is on the line. to put the most fear that he possibly can into people for a certain reaction or for control. haunting his father to prove his point ! and because he can. few people knew bruce in the way jason did; and he knew what he had to do to at least attempt to prove exactly what he is trying to get across. the lengths he went to and the things he did were unnerving. He had his chance to kill bruce ! but he didnt go through with it because he realized bruce would never know how, why, or Who. jason is a freak ! a sicko ! hes weird. and i hate that he is becoming less and less like that these days. i cannot stand that he is teetering towards normal on the sanity scale. and i despise that how brutal he is has been watered down to rubber bullets. and most of all, i hate that he now is someone that people think would change his moral code, the way he works, or the way he thinks for someone’s approval. even his father.

Note
the fact that jason enjoys reading is not talked enough.
i agree!! and also how he was top of his class when he went to school!! sometimes he’d skip out on being robin for the night if he had to finish a project for school or homework. he was such a sweet kid and bruce gave him opportunities for a better future and it was taken away so suddenly :( i also think he is a huge Shakespeare nerd. i feel like he would definitely have some lines or monologues memorized and randomly would spew something out while he’s brutalizing someone or taunting bruce

Jason Todd being built like a heavy weight champion is so much better if you pair it with fact that he was trained by Batman and The League of Assassins.
Like you got this 6,4 beefy dude built like a tank in a video game and he is completely silent. You won’t hear him or see him unless he wants you to. And by then it’s far too late.
Dude’s bicep is bigger than your head and he’s on par with Nightwing when it comes to being nimble and performing acrobatic moves.
Red Hood radiating Michael Myers energy. An absolutely terrifying force to be reckoned with,

i think jason todd wouldnt really care about relationship labels. i think if youre With him and you asked to be his girlfriend/boyfriend, he would think its kind of pointless. he would be very possessive and would more-so enjoy the idea that you two own each other and that you belong to each other. being labeled as his girlfriend/boyfriend/partner wouldnt really mean anything to him bc in his mind you two already are each others. you are his and he is yours.
