summary: Kiri goes missing so y/n goes out to find her and confess

Splashing in the water with Tuk while feeding ilus was great, you loved keeping her company while the others did their chores. “Here, I made you this y/n!” Tuk handed them a bracelet which matched the one Tuk was wearing. Gasping slightly, “Tuk, this is beautiful! We’ll have to make some together sometime.” Slipping on the bracelet on your wrist.

Leaning against a rock with your best friend Kiri next to you, it was lovely. The two na’vi were glad to have met each other. Y/n loves the ocean and was so happy when Kiri showed same interest, Y/n would show Kiri her favourite spots, teach her all about the ocean and scenic spots. Of course there are times for when you have to take breaks and just talk. You would rarely see them without each other, and if you were you would constantly hear, “Where’s y/n?” vise versa. Having known each other for a while, their bond growing, knowing each other’s secrets, favourite things and interests. Kiri spoke, “I’m not sure what it have been like if we had not met.” Looking over to her, the setting sun left yellow hues on her face, her eyes glowing. She always figured out a way to make your day at least a little bit better but, being in her presence was good enough. You only quietly laughed at her statement.

You were in your marui when you heard commotion going on outside, stepping out onto the bouncy path, asking a na’vi what was happening. “The oldest daughter of the Omatikaya family is missing.” Starting to get truly worried you call out to your ilu and sped through the water. Trying to think as to where she could have been, asking na’vi if they have seen her. “No, sorry.” Was all you were getting back, searching through your favourite spots to swim and explore.

Unsure where to go next you just dive into the water and hoped you come across her. Your ilu was starting to get tired, you’ve been searching for a long time now. Starting to lose hope, sighing to yourself, saying you were tired was an understatement. Looking into the water, resting on your ilu, a yellow glow had started to appear. Inspecting the glow closely, you came to realise they were the fish that Kiri would talk about. Unsure on what to do you put your hand closer to one of the many fish. They start to surround you, confusing you even more, then they start to swim away, trusting your intuition to follow them.

Keeping up with the fish, bioluminescent plants and creatures lighting up the ocean that was getting darker by the minute. The fish made you feel safer and gave you hope in a way, Kiri talked about the fish to y/n quite a bit. Soon, they led y/n to such an ethereal place, touching the coral and plants around them gave her this feeling of happiness and excitement. Searching the area for Kiri, you finally find her, she was sitting on a rock guiding the fish with her hand, her hair flowing with the water. Slowly, swimming towards her, she notices you and her eyes slightly widen. “Kiri, what are you doing here?” Signing to her, she looked confused. “What do you mean?” “Everyone has been look for you.” Looking up she sees how dark it was, the girl hadn’t realise how much time has gone by. “I was exploring and lost track of time.” You smile at her, swimming next to her. Gently grabbing her hand, she had already stopped with the fish, taking her to different places you wanted to show her. Being a metkayina then being a faster swimmer and knowing the ocean better it was always you that would show the girl different places and places you found peace being in. Of course, you let Kiri lead the way a lot of the times too, exploring the reef was something you both found enjoyable.

Now leading the way you both look at all the creatures and touch plants you found interest in, you handed Kiri a shell you thought she might like, “Thank you.” She says with a smile. Kiri takes your hand and starts swimming at a direction of the reef, curious to where she takes you, you kick your feet to help her and wait patiently.

She had taken you to such a beautiful place, it was the first place she had taken you to. You look at her direction, smiling, Kiri notices and smiles back at you, she signs, “I need air.” Swimming up to the surface with you following behind. “Kiri.” you start. “Hm, What is it?” “Oel ngati kameie.” Kiri’s eyes widen, her cheeks slightly purple unsure on what to say. “I see you, y/n.” almost a whisper, you laugh quietly. She gives you a shell you saw she has been holding onto for a while and give wit to you, “We should make something with these shells together, nodding in agreement you take the shell form her hand, happy that it turned out better than what you had expected.

Walking on the beach feeling the sand against their feet, the waves crashing against the shore. Everything was calm and peaceful, quickly it all changed. na’vi were asking others if they had seen Kiri, one of daughters of the new family that came some time ago. You were asked if you had seen her, being her closest friends, shaking your head no and the na’vi leaving, you too soon left to go search for her. Clicking your tongue before diving into the sea and getting onto your ilu. 

Searching for a while you start to get worried and that’s when you remembered the one spot she had shown you a few days earlier, it was far from the island and secluded but, it was a beautiful spot, interesting creatures and multiple coloured plants and coral. Kiri has always been fond about the ocean and what it had in store ever since she has arrived. It made you happy you had someone to share your interests with.

Making your way there you spot little glowing yellow fish, there were so many of them, you see behind the fish, Kiri. Swimming over around the fish she sat on a rock, she was guiding the fish around with her hand with a smile on her face adoring the creatures in front of her. Kiri notices you and looks back at the fish before speaking “I didn’t think you’d be here.”  “Everyone is looking for you, Kiri!” you say in sign language. She seemed surprised, looking up to see it’s been hours since she had left the island, and way past her curfew. Feeling rather guilty for making everyone worry. Taking her arm and guiding her through the water, she was confused but when she saw the smile you gave her, she let you.

Swimming though the water you both point at things one might find interesting, going up to it and seeing animals, it was ethereal especially during the night, mesmerised, you are snapped back to reality when Kiri starts pulling you, it was her turn now. It was you usually that would take her arm, being Metkayinan making you a faster swimmer and knowing the waters better than others. Curious you waited to what she would show you. Staring at Kiri, she is so beautiful, you were your happiest and yourself when you are around her, doing anything, making bracelets, exploring the reef, telling each other stories, stargazing, anything, she was special to you.

Finally she lets go of you and you look around, the area was unfamiliar to you which was a surprise but, you were glad that it was Kiri that had shown it to you. Taking everything in you look towards Kiri who was also amazed, it was truly a beautiful place. Taking her by her hand bringing her to the surface and stare at her eyes in awe, “I see you, Kiri.” You say. Kiri wasn’t sure what to say or do so she smiles, it was one of the many things you loved about her, “I see you too y/n/n.”

Shell | Lo’ak

summary: making a gift for Lo’ak and just fluff

pairing: Lo’ak x reader

Getting ready to ride your ilu planning your route or going wherever your ilu decides, getting on top bringing your small bag with you having the idea of creating something for your friend Lo’ak. 

Around a week ago a family from the Omaticaya clan travelled all the way from the forest to the Metkayina clan hiding to protect themselves and the rest of their clan. Being the daughter of the olo’eyktan along with your two siblings you had to show the family the ways of water na’vi. During this you had created new bonds with the children, but one peaked your interest, Lo’ak.

Swimming through the water admiring the coral and the creatures living amongst them you thought to yourself, what were you even going to make? Returning to the surface, noticing a blue figure in the distance realising it was Lo’ak, you both notice each other but before any of you could do anything else you hear a familiar voice. “Y/n, hey!” you turn your head to the direction of the voice and see Kiri, she was a lovely girl and you enjoyed being around her, “Kiri hi!” waving at her. “What are you doing out here?” “I just thought I would go out for a ride.” Your eyes searching for Lo’ak not making any eye contact with Kiri, “Maybe we can ride together? I don’t have anything else to do and Tuk is doing something else.” Finally looking at her you hesitated a bit thinking about your original plan and agreeing anyway. She smiles contented with your answer and you both dive in the water.

Whilst swimming with Kiri you still thought about your gift, wanting to ask Kiri but thinking of what she would say or think you keep it to yourself. “A bracelet? Maybe matching bracelets? No, that’s cheesy.” You think to yourself. Something that has meaning maybe. Only having spent a week with him you thought of the little times you were able to hang out with him alone. There was one time where you two were out on the beach looking for shells and Lo’ak found a beautiful piece and he gave it to you, it was a stunning shell, you wanted him to keep it but her persisted. After a bit you found one that you wanted to give to him but was too shy, and there was your idea.

After returning to land and saying your goodbyes to Kiri you got to work, opening your little box full of little things you find. Searching through you find a couple crystals and go over to a different part of your table to find the shells, you kept the shell Lo’ak gave you on display. Once you have gathered the supplies you needed you started twisting and turning the thread and adding each bead and crystal and adding the shell you wanted to give him. Finishing off the necklace and putting it up to eye level to make sure everything was right, you were happy with it. Setting it down on the table you start on yours.

It was quite late at night and you weren’t able to sleep, being how you were you decided to think on how you were going to give Lo’ak the necklace, you could give it to him yes, but then what? What were you going to say what were you gonna say before giving it to him? You sighed wondering why you had to over complicate things so much, getting up form your bed walking out of your marui and sitting on the trampoline like bridge, staring at the sky and stars. A while later lost in your thoughts you feel a weight next to you, looking over to see Lo’ak. He didn’t look at you but stared at the sky with you. The silence was nice and comforting, its been a while since the last time you two got to properly spend time together, taking off the necklace you had made him from your neck, looking at it in your hand, you start to feel a gaze, looking up to meet his eyes, they sparkled in the night and were always mesmerising to you. Quickly you hand over the necklace staring down on the floor. Taking it out of your hands he lets out a light chuckle, “This is the shell you’ve been wanting to give me.” Your head shoots up “How did you know?’’ confused. He laughs again “Maybe next time don’t speak talk about your plans around me.” You felt so embarrassed but it’s okay it didn’t matter now although, you will be more cautious next time. Forgetting about that you both stay seated on the edge with your legs hanging off the edge. Both na’vi just happy to be together.
