Why tf do ppl feel the need to tell others how to feel or that they have to feel a certain way for their identity to be accepted. Like eugh bro stop trying to force people into your boxes so you can digest it. My identity doesnt have to be digestible to you and i won’t change myself for you. Telling people they have to feel dysphoria to be trans is weird and stupid, some people just don’t experience it and you don’t get to tell them their identity isn’t valid because they don’t feel dysphoria and you don’t get to tell them that they actually do feel that way when they really don’t. Like I’ve had this person try to tell me any discomfort even minor means I have dysphoria like that justifies my transness or something like..no? I don’t care how people perceive me idgaf about if my body looks feminine or if I look feminine I don’t care if people use the wrong pronouns honestly I don’t care. The only time I would care is if you are specifically calling me a girl TO BE RUDE. Like at that point it’s not about what you’re calling me it’s about your lack of respect and decency. I could care less that you think I’m a girl but if you feel the need to go out of your way to rub it in my face Youre a dick and can shove it up your ass cuz that’s weird as hell. Ok guys so today I learned that I’m actually not trans!!! Because TikTok goobers told me so!! Because you HAVE to feel dysphoria to be trans!!!! Suddenly my entire gender is gone because I don’t get dysphoric!!! Wow I love TikTok goobers who help me because I’m a dumb idiot who can’t understand how im feeling and I’m just confused because I’m trans and don’t feel dysphoria!!!

I genuinely don’t understand how some people can’t understand how and why gender is a spectrum. Like…it’s a feeling? Your gender is entirely made up.

I consider your biological sex as basically your starter pack of your gender and u go with that until you reach the point in consciousness where you have a sense of self and identity and if the one you were assigned at birth doesn’t feel right to you then you can just change it.

Sex is your chromosomes and physical organs which is also a spectrum, like intersex people exist nature is never black and white it’s forever gonna be a spectrum.

If your sex can be a spectrum I feel it’s pretty logical for your gender to be a spectrum especially since most of it is based off your feelings and how you identify and present yourself..

feeling is not at all on some sort of binary or wtv like it’ll most definitely expand past just “boy and girl”

Tip for newbies to the punk scene; join facebook

You don't need to use your real name etc, but set your location to your nearest city, and scroll through events, search punk and click interested to things even if they're not in your city. Facebook will quickly suss out what you're after and start showing you local shows. If you see an alternative show but it's not quite your thing, follow the venue! Friend request the person organising it!

Then add people you meet at these shows and you'll get even more event reccomendations

Lots of events organisers on the scene are older, they use Facebook to publicise events, so even though it suxks as a social media it's worth having an account!

“Kill shelters” are the shelters you need to donate to.

“But shrimp!! Kill shelters are evil!!”

No, shut up, listen to me for a second.

“Kill shelter” is a colloquial term used primarily for Town/City (aka municipal) shelters that rely on incredibly limited government grant funding to operate.

These shelters, by the very nature of their existence, DO NOT HAVE the funds to operate like private rescues do.

On top of this, they’re also *legally required* to take in ANY animal that comes to them. Even if they’re full. Or they’ll lose all of their funding.

This is what leads them to needing to euthanize for space. Is euthanizing for space sad? Yes. But due to the current crisis, it’s also NECESSARY.

These shelters are constantly overfull. They’re STRUGGLING. They don’t have the funds to operate properly. And yet these municipal, government funded, struggling shelters are the same ones that are most likely to be providing care for owned animals in the community

Municipal (“kill”) shelters are the ones hosting low cost spay and neuter clinics. They’re the ones discounting vaccination appointments and microchipping. They’re the ones that have pet food banks so struggling pet owners can feed their pets that week.

These shelters are not evil. They’re doing the absolute best they can with the bare minimum funding they get.

These people are incredibly resourceful and care very deeply about the animals in their care. It breaks their heart every time they have to euthanize an animal that couldn’t get adopted.

These underfunded shelters need your money significantly more than that fancy private rescue you see on TikTok or instagram that has a beautiful facility and has never had to euthanize an animal ever.

Support your local shelters and they will give back to the community thousand fold.

Sincerely, an animal welfare student who’s tired of seeing the hardest working professionals shat on because of circumstances they can’t control.

Something that happens to me a lot is I’ll have weird dreams where I’m in really odd places but I’ll be able to do quadrobics perfectly and it’s such a weird but comforting feeling. When I’m in the dreams it’s really soothing and nice but remembering them has a really weird off putting vibe to it idk why maybe bc in all of the dreams it’s night and I’m in some random outside area? Like sometimes it’s a forest but like idk they’re weird and like someone drew them for a fantasy game but it looks realistic? Idk how to describe it bleh

I did this a lot when I was younger and I would do Handstands against my wall on my bed but like hold myself up with my shoulders and just chill like that for some reason lol

I remember i used to lay in a position similar to this a lot ahdjs

Except I'd do it by tucking my arms down between my legs so my shoulders supported most of my weight. It's still my favorite way of snoozing or just laying to relax, but it was very painful for the neck 😅
