One thing I've always thought about with Mary's first letter is how she wrote that Arthur knows it's from her because of her bad handwriting. It just always stuck with me because it makes you think that they must have sent letters so often over the years that they eventually memorised eachother's handwriting.

That maybe when they were younger, Arthur, in his early twenties, giddy and full of nerves as he rode to the post office to deliver his letter for the woman he loved? Cursing to himself as he fretted about what he'd written, worried about sounding like a fool?

Then Mary, at the same time, full of butterflies as she slipped out every day to check for a new letter from Arthur, and then writing her own letters before scrunching them up and rewriting them again and again, cursing to herself because of her bad handwriting? Wanting to make it as nice as Arthur's?

Do you think about how something as simple as sending letters was probably the steadiest thing keeping them together in their own chaotic lives, how it probably made them both feel so much less lonely through everything? Do you think about it. Do you. Do.

Despite John being mentioned a lot more in my fanfic rather than Abigail, I’ve always liked her more!! If I had to make a ranking of my top 5, it would probably be Jack, Abigail, Molly, John and then Lenny

Also how come In literally every other country 8PM looks like 4PM in my country… I cant tell if it’s my jetlag or cuz it looks like it’s still morning outside but I’m finding it hard to sleep LOL

I’m picturing Damian will idley doodle on scraps of paper when he’s bored and will sometimes give them to whoever’s nearby. He’ll be bored at a restaurant and draw a bat on a napkin and give it to Bruce.

Bruce actually cherishes every single one of these and one day Damian sees him put one away, in this like drawer that’s just full of them and he’s like “Wait, Father, have you really kept every drawing I’ve given you?”

Bruce is like “. . . Why wouldn’t I?”

Damian and Baba

Damian quickly learns that calling Bruce "Baba" will get him just about anything he wants.

It starts out as an accident. One night (more like early morning) Damian is exhausted and stumbles into Bruce on their way up to the manor from the batcave. Damian mumbles a "Sorry, baba" and Bruce totally isn't tearing up as he puts a hand on his youngest's back and guides him up the stairs. Damian bolts upright in bed at some point thinking about it.

But the next evening Bruce comes home with a new toy for Titus and authentic Ma'amoul (cookies filled with dates or nuts) he got from who knows where and Damian is like, "Yeah, I can work with this."

Damian wants to get out of field reports? "Baba, I have a lot of homework I need to do." Bruce makes Tim do it instead.

Damian and Jason got into another argument (which Damian definitely didn't start)? "Baba, Todd told me..." Jason is getting a very serious bat-lecture while Damian gets off scott-free.

Damian wants something expensive? "Baba, can I have that?" Bruce gets him twelve.

Damian wants to go somewhere (probably the zoo)? "Baba, can we go see the lions again?" Alfred has to talk Bruce out of buying the entire place.

The others (Tim and Jason) try pointing it out to Bruce. He denies it but is secretly very aware of it. However, his baby is calling him something more endearing than father so of course he lets him get away with it.

Dick complains that he would have started calling Bruce "tati" (affectionate term for a father in Romani) years ago if he'd known it would have gotten him special treatment.
