Architecture is never neutral. Especially when it comes to care, space can either support or silence the needs of those within it. In my latest article, I explore how architecture can embody care—not just in hospitals or care homes, but in the everyday environments we move through.

What does it mean to design with a relational mindset?

How can we shape spaces that allow for presence, softness, and human connection?

This piece is a reflection on invisible spatial gestures, subtle thresholds, and the societal need for architecture that responds to vulnerability without overpowering it.

A silent echo of the bodies that have passed and been carried by the flow of history. A moment, a sensation that lingers long after you walk away.

The art pulses with movement. Movement adjacent to an unconstrained flow of water. The space around- softly sculpted architecture. The play of light and reflection amplifies the tension between art, space and the surroundings.

"De bib als volks paleis"

Wat betekent een bibliotheek in een tijd waarin kennis overal digitaal beschikbaar is?

We bevinden aan het Munthof in antwerpen. We botsen op een ritmische stadsmuur. Ooit een grens, wordt subtiel geopend en onthuld een vergeten ruimte gevuld met potentieel: te verweven met de stad—een herinnering aan het verleden, een kader voor de toekomst. De opening leidt tot een (romeins) forum. Een forum aan een moderne tempel gewijd aan verhalen. Lezers en vertellers ontmoeten elkaar, verhalen worden gedeeld en nieuw gedachtengoed ontstaat. Het is een ruimte om te verdwalen in boeken en elkaar te vinden in gesprekken. Dit is de idee. Geen schermgevulde hub, maar een huis waar ontmoeting en dialoog centraal staan. De wijkbibliotheek wordt een levend weefsel in de stad, een huis voor woorden en mensen.
