⨠Calling Nyx â¨
On a previous post, I talked about the Greek goddess of the night, Nyx. This is a guide on how to call to her, either to ask her for something or to simply show your devotion. This is a fairly simple ritual but that, if done correctly, will energise you while also giving you peace.
BEST DONE:
at night, preferably when the sky is at its darkest
preferably when the moon and/or the stars are visible
ITEMS NEEDED:
one 7-day candle, either black, dark purple or dark blue
one piece of silver jewelry that you either already wear every day or you intend to from now on
two cups
red wine (replace with fresh grape juice if you're underage)
either lavender or dama da noite (a brazilian flower which the name translates to lady of the night) incense
bay leaves (if you intend to make ask her for something)
PREPARATION:
1- choose and clean the room in which the ritual will take place with the windows open, then burn the sage or rosemary to cleanse it. do it somewhere the sky is visible.
2- wear makes you feel good. put on make-up, do your hair, wear a special outfit (preferably dark colours), whatever generates confidence.
3- open the windows and leave them open. gather the items you'll need and prepare to start.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1- light the candle and breathe in and out several times. allow yourself to feel the spirit of the night.
2- say a prayer/ sing/ dance, whatever you feel is right at the moment. celebrate the night, celebrate the goddess, and celebrate your devotion to her.
3- once you've finished, say "I call on you Nyx, goddess of the night".
4- get your jewelry piece and cleans it with the fire from the candle while saying "I call on you Nyx, tamer of men and gods, keeper of secrets, giver of fertility."
5- hold the jewelry up to the sky and say "I call on you Nyx, patron of the witches, to bless this ring/necklace/bracelet. I call on you to protect me and guide me, for as long as I offer my heart to you."
6- pour the red wine into the cups. place one of them by the candle, and raise the other to the sky and then drink it. leave the other one.
7- if you wish to ask Nyx for anything, pick up your bay leaves and burn them one by one while you tell her your desires. be detailed, show your heart, and she will listen.
8- light your incense and leave it together with the cup and the candle. the candle should burn for the following 7 days, and everyday you should change the wine from the cup.
â ď¸ ATTENTION â ď¸
if the wind blow out the candle you can just light it back up again, however if the candle goes out on it's on, it's a sign something went wrong during the ritual and you should do it again.

Attraction spells
Here are two attraction spells that you can do to attract romantic(and or non romantic) love, relationships, and passion into your life. This is how I do the spells; you can use what you have on hand. I burned both of these spells at the same time but you can do one at a time if thatâs what you feel like. I also burned 3 bay leaves with my intentions while waiting for my spell to finish. đŤś

These spells work best on the full moon, or waxing. From 12am-1am
1) Moon water attraction spell
Supplies:
- bowl
- mirror
- moon water
- rose oil
- red candle
- rose quartz
- cinnamon stick
- lavender
- jasmine
- red pepper
- butterfly pea flower
- hibiscus
Carve intentions into you candle, and stick it to the bottom of the bowl. Set the bowl on top of the mirror after you draw a sigil onto the mirror. Once done with that pour your moon water into the bowl. Add all your herbs/flowers into the water. Light candle and stir your intentions in with the cinnamon stick and meditate on your intentions.
2) Attraction candle spell
Supplies:
- dish
- red candle
- rose quartz
- clear quartz
- salt
- pink himalayan salt
- sugar
- basil
- cinnamon
- rose petals
- jasmine
Mix the sugar, salt, pink salt, herbs, and flowers together in your dish, with your left hand, setting your intentions as well. I used a heart dish that my cat knocked over and broke. Carve your full name into the candle, and then anoint the candle with the rose oil. Place the candle in the dish and light. Meditate on your intentions.
âźď¸remember to burn things in a well ventilated areaâźď¸
âźď¸and do love spells of any kind with cautionâźď¸
happy witching friends !

HECATE / HEKATE
WHO IS SHE?
Hecate is a Goddess of magic and witchcraft, as well as the guardian of boundaries and crossings. She is often depicted as a triple-headed woman, representing her role as a gatekeeper between realms. Hecate is a powerful and mysterious Goddess, and she is often associated with the moon, the night, and the Underworld. She is also known for her connection to the spirits of the dead, and she is revered as a protector of orphans and wayfarers. As the Goddess of magic and witchcraft, she is also an expert in magic, astrology, and other arcane arts.
BASIC INFO:
Appearance: Hecate is traditionally depicted as a tall and powerful woman with a distinctive appearance. She is often portrayed as having three heads, each with different facial features, such as eyes of different colours or expressions. She is also described as having black hair and wearing a dark cloak, which further lends to her mysterious and dark appearance. In some depictions, she was said to carry a torch, a crescent moon, and a key, which is a symbol of her power over the boundaries between life and death.
Personality: Hecate is a complex and multi-faceted deity, representing the trinity of magic, knowledge and wisdom, as well as the boundaries between life and death. Her personality reflects that complexity and is a combination of contradictory traits, embodying both dark and mysterious aspects, as reflected by her position as Goddess of the Underworld, while also being a bright and benevolent figure, representing light and wisdom. She is often depicted as a three-headed woman, symbolizing her association with the crossroads and the triad of magic that she encapsulates.

⢠Torches: which represents guidance and illumination in dark times or when clarity is needed.
⢠Wolves: Hecate is sometimes depicted with three heads, which is one reason she is often associated with wolves. Wolves also symbolize strength, loyalty, and protection and can be a natural source of inspiration for your prayers or rituals.
⢠Black cats: commonly associated with Hecate, mostly due to her connection to the Underworld. Black cats represent protection and wisdom, and they can be an excellent source of inspiration for your prayers or rituals.
⢠The triune Goddess: which represents the trio of maiden, mother, and crone and the power of the feminine.
⢠Crossroads: where people would often seek wisdom from Hecate when they faced difficulties or had questions.
⢠Magic, occultism, and witchcraft: as Hecate is the Goddess of magic and spells, and she is often invoked during rituals and magickal practices.
FACTS ABOUT HECATE:
⢠Name: the name Hecate comes from the Greek word "ekatid," which means "the one who has power over the road."
⢠Relationships: Hecate is associated with the night, the Underworld, the moon, and the spirit world. She is also connected to Demeter and Persephone, both of whom are associated with the fertility of the cycle of life and death.
⢠Symbols: the symbols of Hecate include a three-headed dog, a key, and a torch.
⢠Role: Hecate is a mysterious and powerful Goddess associated with sorcery and magic, often depicted as a triple-headed or triple-bodied figure.
⢠Associations: Hecate is often associated with crossroads, magic, prophecy, mystery, spirits, night, ghosts, and the Underworld, serving as a protector and guide for those who have died. She is also the patron deity of witches and magic-users, and is also associated with the night.
⢠History: Hecate is a minor deity in Greek mythology, but she has become a prevalent figure in modern times. Hecate's origins are linked to the Greek Underworld and the female deity Selene, and she is also connected to the Roman goddesses Artemis and Diana.
⢠Role in Witchcraft: Hecate is widely associated with magic and witchcraft, and many witches and Wiccans revere her as a source of power and knowledge. Some witch traditions worship Hecate as a three-way Goddess who represents the past, present, and future.
HOW TO WORSHIP HECATE:
To worship Hecate respectfully, you should approach her with a sense of reverence and respect. She is a powerful Goddess and should be treated as such. You can offer prayers, libations, and offerings to her, and it's important to speak to her in a respectful manner, as you would to any other person of authority. Hecate has a strong connection to magic and the Underworld, so you can also use magic or other rituals to communicate with her. It's important to have an open mind and a respectful attitude when approaching Hecate and seeking her guidance.
HOW TO PRAY TO HECATE:
To begin, you could address her by name and say something along the lines of:
"Oh Great Goddess Hecate, I come to you seeking your guidance and wisdom. I offer myself to you, my heart and my spirit, and I ask for your blessing in this prayer."
"I thank you, great Goddess Hecate, for listening to my words and for your guidance and protection. May you walk by my side always. Hail Hecate.â
CAN I CONTACT HECATE AT A CROSSROAD?
Yes, it is possible to contact Hecate at a crossroads. This is a traditional method of invoking the Goddess that has been used for centuries. To do this, you should prepare a offering (bread, honey, and herbs, or any other items that you feel would be suitable for her) and then go to a crossroads during the witching hour between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. Place your offering under the crossroads sign and say a prayer to invoke Hecate. Speak with sincerity and humility, and ask for guidance and aid in whatever aspect of your life you feel most in need of support. Remember to listen for signs and messages that Hecate may bring you.
WHAT ARE SIGNS THAT HECATE WANTS ME TO WORK WITH HER?
If your request to work with Hecate has been accepted, you may notice the following signs:
⢠Feeling drawn toward witchcraft, magic, or spiritual practices
⢠Seeing her symbols, such as the moon, keys, dogs, etc.
⢠Feeling a connection to animals, nature, or the Underworld
⢠Feeling a pull towards the crossroads or areas with a strong sense of the occult
⢠Having vivid dreams or visions in which she appears or speaks directly to you.
⢠Seeing or feeling her energies in your environment
⢠The number 13 keeps popping up everywhere
⢠You hear dogs howling at night from nowhere
⢠Hecateâs symbols are repeating: the key, crossroads, torch, dagger, Hecateâs wheel
⢠Youâre drawn to graveyards and cemeteries
⢠Youâve had a spiritual experience (either positive or terrifying) at a crossroads in the woods
⢠Youâre new to the craft and need guidance but donât know who to turn to
⢠Hecate comes into witchesâ lives who are pregnant and dying (during major transitions in life)
⢠Youâre seeing a white dog(s) everywhere you go (in real life or on TV, etc.)
⢠Hecateâs name keeps showing up in your daily life (in random conversations, books, TV shows, online, etc.)
⢠You love working with animals, in particular dogs
⢠Stray dogs tend to find you and want you to take them in
⢠You were born under a Dark Moon or on Hecate Night
⢠Spirits communicate with you and have your entire life
If your request to work with Hecate has not been accepted, you may notice the following signs:
⢠Getting a strong impression or intuition that she is not interested in working with you.
⢠Getting a reading or divination that indicates Hecate is not willing to work with you at this time.

How I enchant Jewelry â¨
Like the title says, this is a little step-by-step on how I like to approach enchanting jewelry!
1. Decide on the piece you're using and cleanse if necessary (probably recommended). I like to bury it in salt for a while or use holy/moon water.
2. If you're asking for a specific entity's help, I like to light a candle in their honor and possibly leave an additional offering (especially if asking for a big effect). If not, just light a candle for some additional assistance from the fire's energy!
3. Create a designated space to place the jewelry on. I think of it as offering the jewelry for a small amount of time (like leaving it overnight) in order to ask for help enchanting it.
4. Adorn the jewelry with corresponding dressings or pieces of the offering (ex.: herb/flower petals, oils, put crystals on it). If not offering to a specific entity, use corresponding materials with the effect you'd like to achieve (ex.: lavender for tranquility, rose for glamor, etc)
5. You can also leave written intentions with the jewelry along with your offerings! This will help focus your mind on the goal as you wear it, as well as strengthen the intention of the working.
6. Leave it! Let it sit as you reflect and allow time for your offering to be accepted. I like to do overnight so I can feel ready to tackle the day with the newly enchanted jewelry.
7. Wear it! â¨
This is just how I like to do it- add or remove whatever works for you!
