So this is very "who asked" but it's very funny so I thought I'd share

I'm still on reddit technically, and on the helldivers subreddit there's been some drama this last week. Mostly dumb bullshit that isn't important. However, this had lead the subreddit moderators to make a post clarifying some rules and such to end the drama. And in this post, these reddit moderators made the extremely funny statement that "Gooner" is now a slur.

I quote "The use of the term gooner and how it is used it also a problem, because it is being used in a derogatory manner, the same way a slur might be used"

Wheather it is okay to use the word "goona" if you got a G-word pass, and wheather I am allowed to say it if I'm singing along to my favourite song remains unknown. From now on I require to see a valid G-word pass from anyone that utters the word.

I am the product of trillions of small moments in history. I am the product of of untold generations loving and laughing and smiling and crying. I am the product of an incomprihensible cosmos. I am alive, a miracle, a thing that stands in opposition against the cold unfeeling expanse.

You are a hunk of metal made by a Californian. Do not think you are comparable to me in the slightest. Get the fuck out of my way and just do what I tell you to.

I generally don't like the way men's fashion is talked about on the internet. As if it's something that needs fixing, instead of trying to understand why men dress the way they do. Because the same forces that allow women to have more varying dress styles, is the same force that limits what men feel comfortable wearing. But that's not really my point.

My issue is that I see so many people critiquing men's fashion for not being adventurous enough, and then suggesting something more way more trendy & bold instead of working within the 'constraints' men are comfortable with first.

A guy who just likes wearing t-shirts and jeans shouldn't cause you to roll your eyes. That person chose those specific clothes to wear, because they feel comfortable in them. So when you tell them that clothing isn't gendered and they should wear crop-tops and mesh shirts so they can be actually stylish, you'll most likely get a negative response because you are not working within their tastes. Culturally manufactured, or not.

You might understand that gendered clothing is a social construct, and that they're just fabrics at the end of the day, and I agree. But just like how even though women have such a wide variety of styles to choose from, some still stick to more basic and plain ways of dressing, because that's what they feel the most like themselves wearing, a lot of guys are in that same camp too. So just dismissing men's more toned down, style as cowardly or lacking in creativity kind of misses the whole point of fashion being about expressing yourself. Not everybody wants to express themselves with both colors and eclectic cuts.

This way of tackling men's lack of interest in fashion just pushes them away refining the style they actually like and, are just executing poorly, to conforming to a different standard that isn't their own. Which again, misses the whole point of fashion.

Hopefully I didn't come off too hostile, but I've seen so many videos tackling this issue and not a single one of them actually try to see it from this perspective. Feel free to respond, I am genuinely interested in your perspectives on this, because this was driving me crazy.

I recommend going on 4chan every once in a while since it really makes you appreciate yourself. You'll be thinking to yourself "damn I sure suck and am stupid" then you go there and find someone claiming the nazis were secretly Jewish or whatever.
