My Neighbor Totoro: 20/10, One of the BEST movies I have ever watched

Ponyo: 9/10, Heartwarming and Simple, ended so fast

When Marnie Was There: 8/10, The Art was amazing, but I had to rewatch a lot to get the storyline clear

Castle In the Sky: 11/10, young love with fantasy= Perfection, I need a sequel

okay but does anyone ever think about how perfectly clato was written? there is just enough to insinuate that their relationship went beyond two people from the same district/careers but not enough to know exactly what it was. it could have been nothing, it could have been everything. they could have been acquaintances who trained together occasionally, they could have been friends, best friends, friends with benefits, friends who were secretly in love with each other, enemies who have always hated each other and learned how to respect each other in the arena, they could have been in a relationship. and that is just scratching the surface.

we know katniss' story. we know about the complex nature of her relationship with her district partner. and collins made sure that there were other relationships between tributes that the reader was invited to think about. and it only took a few lines from katniss' pov to point to a deeper connection between cato and clove- two people who were portrayed as ruthless, brainwashed, almost inhuman at times. i don't know if it was done to make them seem more human/like children or to allude to actual "star-crossed lovers" but it was executed perfectly.
