Darkness. And then a spark. And then a blinding flash.

When Effie opens her eye, she groans and covers her face with a hand to block out the painful light.

She takes a minute to stretch out each limb while still laying down before slowly sitting up and stretching out her sore back. How long has she been out for? Effie finally pulls her hand away from her face, dragging her fingers along her nose bridge to soothe her headache as she does so.

Effie looks up and sees him.

Skittle hears the groan and immediately sits up, turning his full attention on Effie. His heart pounds as he watches her stretch, and his hands rise to clutch at his shirt.

He'd been sitting on his bed for hours on end, glancing at her now and then, watching her chest rise and fall, reminding himself that she was alive.

"Fee?" he asks, cautious. She's awake, but. Is it really her?
