Your most recent artwork failed to get sold, and as luck would have it, the rain soaked the canvas. Kyle sees nothing but the positive in the painting.

This has been in the works for ages, I'm so glad to be able to finally get it out.

"Welp...maybe next time..with the exact same painting." You muttered, an umbrella in one hand, and a large canvas painting in the other. It was an oil and a recreation of your home painting. A sweet, small park. The trees were shades of green and yellow. The grass was dewy and bright. Yet not enough to beat a recreation of the Mona Lisa. They had your respect for recreating such a painting. But in your mind, a small, bright park, filled with life and whimsy, was better than an overrated painting from an artist you didn't like.

The rain poured and heavily pattered on your umbrella as you walked. The amount of rain made it impossible for you to see where you going, so you just powered through the rain and kept going. The noise was the only thing you listened to and no thought passed by you.

But pounding music and almost strobing lights distracted you. A glance over, and you were in front of a college house. Ah, Kyle's place. Just the person you need right now. Just letting out a sigh, you quickly retracted your umbrella. Cringing as soon as the most killer rain hit your head. But you jumped up the stairs and into the large place. If you were overwhelmed by the rain and your disappointment, the music and lights just made it worse.

So, as people were giving you drunk and hazy stares, you rushed up the case of stairs, attempting to get away from everyone. There was one room that wasn't being used, and you decided it was the best one to sit in for a while. Setting your painting down gently, you admired it a bit more. Thank god the oil topper was painted over the scene. Otherwise, the rain would have made it drip onto the dark street.

"Woah, that's a pretty good painting!" A voice brought you out of your thoughts. Kyle saw you walk in, so he followed you slowly, wanting to make sure you were okay. "Why'd you bring it here?"

"Cause I lost the competition earlier. And it's a cliché that it started to rain halfway through. Sooo, I was walking home and came across yours." An awkward chuckle left you as you sat on Kyle's bed, feeling slightly embarrassed about the weather even though it wasn't in your control. He chuckled and sat by you, placing a hand over your shoulder. Sighing, all you did was lean into him, almost snuggling into him a bit.

"Who won it?" The tipsy man asked, reaching for your head and giving you a few scratches as comfort. As you replied with the Mona Lisa replication, he let out almost a large, heavyy sigh. He picked you up as best he could and laid beside you on his bed. "Nah your painting is probably better."

"Yeah probably! Probably." A little chuckle leaving you.

"Wrong wording?" He grinned, rubbing little circles into your back, between your shoulder blades. Kyle also gave you a small kiss on your forehead which made you move closer to him.

"No, just...yeah." You sighed into Kyle's chest, gripping slightly onto his back. All you wanted was silence. As much silence as you could get despite a party going on downstairs. The pounding music was almost felt in your heart as your heart hearts were fast and nervous.

"It's alright, don't even worry." The man smiled against your forehead as he kissed it again. But you wanted to worry, you just felt betrayed. The judge was so excited and happy with your painting. No one else got the reaction you did, so your heart yearned for a win. Your first win in these competitions, only to be taken away from you with a shitty re-creation.

Peppering kisses over your face made you giggle a little, which immediately gave Kyle another smile. "there's my giggly darling."

"Shut up."

"No. I love you."

S5 Theo may have been slightly evil, but he was also pretty whenever he appeared, so there's that...

I'm going to talk about (and rate) 9/technically 10 of Theo's best appearances/outfits from my screenshots folder of season 5. I'm doing this in no particular order by the way.

1. First of all, this look was nothing shy of ✨ANGELIC✨ I loved the plain black V-neck shirt; it was simple, but *chef's kiss* simple.

This was also one of the few times I actually really liked his hair being cut that way.

Oh, and the lighting was AMAZING with how it really drove home that angelic look.

10/10 without a doubt 💫

2. Okay, so Theo wasn't completely decent here. I have respectfully covered him up a bit with a nice shirt (I tried to, but the marker doesn't scale and I wasn't painting the entire torso.)

This appearance was top tier from the way he terrorized Liam and Mason after chasing them as a wolf, for some reason. (I still don't know why Theo did that.)

From his smirky face and snarky attitude to the god awful night time lighting, this scene has it all. (I was uncomfortable when Theo walked away and we saw his bare ass legs, though. No, thank you.)

7/10 because Theo was very entertaining, but them bare legs was a no for me 😔

3. For this one you get a double feature simply because he's wearing the same outfit.

I loved the class scene with Theo's fun little confident air about him. I also loved the superhero landing scene as Theo went to confront Liam and Stiles about stalking him in the woods.

Theo just had to turn the tables on them and hide in a tree, then he just HAD to jump out of it and land like Superman to show off.

His hoodie was also very lovely and nice. It looked very comfortable 🥰

Only 8/10 for this one, though, because the drawstrings should have been black.

4. Anyone who has ever read some of my posts on here knows how much I LOVE this look and scene!!!

I am very biased, but every aspect of this scene was breathtaking and masterful.

From the very good mood lighting in the rain (I love rain) to the perfectly shaped eyebrows on his face.

Oh, and you can't see his outfit, but that jacket with red and black plaid sleeves was so GOOOOOD looking. It suited him so well!!!

10/10 because Theo was amazing here and his look went hard in that rain 🤭

5. This scene was amazing for both Thiam and Thayden reasons.

I'll be the first to admit that his outfit wasn't great. His hair did save the day along with his posture and the way he looked at Liam, taunting him 🫣👀

From the way Theo was standing close to Hayden to the way he kept his eyes on Liam almost the entire time, this scene has it all.

9/10 because while the outfit sucked, the scene itself was top tier 😘

6. Now, I haven't gotten to this scene in my (second) rewatch and I don't totally remember it, but the look goes HARD.

Theo's hair looks amazingly evil here. His jacket is top tier with how cool it looks. The lighting is just going to prove that Theo is a literal angel sent from below. Last, but not least, the WAY he's looking away is ALAKAKSSJSHJSJSSJSN.

10/10 and must I say why? 😉

7. I don't totally remember this scene either other than Theo talking about first loves in that jacket. Plus, a very soft scene with Scott that makes you think they were childhood crushes.

That memory alone has been ingrained into my brain so I love this look on Theo forever now.

Regardless of that scene, Theo looks amazing in that black jacket and his hair looks perfect!!!

11/10 because his scene with Scott really sold it 🥹

8. This look was just so hrrrrrm. In a good way.

The pompous flirty boy attitude and the JACKET that sells it ALL. I love that jacket so much, I want to wear that jacket. Not because Theo has worn it, but because it's a really nice jacket and it accentuates all of his torso so well. He has such canonically good taste.

I, unfortunately, have to digress that this scene is not 10/10 for me because of its atrociously depressive lighting. Somehow, Jeff Davis managed to ruin this perfect scene (aside from the dumb flirting with Malia) with some bottom tier level lighting.

9. HRRRM.

Last, but, ooooooOooOOOOH, so not least. This scene wasn't anything special really, but the OUTFIT. The hair is okay, but the OUTFIT.

I love, love, LOVE this top on Theo so much. It suits him so well!!!!!!

Oh, and the POSE. HRM.

As far as second chance first dates went, the one currently underway was definitely shaping up to be a unique experience. Most of downtown Hawkins was unfortunately shutdown due to the significant structural damages to many local businesses that were in very desperate need of repair. Additionally, roads were not in great shape either and some were downright undriveable so they ended up having to park Steve's car and walk around to find something date worthy to do.

"Come on, something has to be open..." Steve complains after about 30 minutes of walking and no real success in finding something that was open. There were a few shops and drug stores open but nothing that was really date appropriate unless they wanted to buy groceries together and listen to the radio at Radio Shack. After strolling up another street with no luck, he was about to suggest that they call it a night and reschedule their date for a better time when a loud crack of thunder roared through the sky and a rainfall followed.

His face pointed upward as the rain began to shower down on them, Steve looks back down at Nancy and he just starts laughing. Every conceivable thing that could possibly go wrong on a first date, even a second chance one, had pretty much happened here tonight. They should be upset because the downpour was almost overkill at this point but the whole thing was just kind of funny instead. It was like a scene out of a comedy movie or something.

Completely drenched now, his laughter starts to fall off but his grin remains as he pulls Nancy into him. Maybe this wasn't the date they were hoping for but they could still have their fun anyway. "Ever danced in the rain before?" He asks her before taking one of her hands in his and lacing their fingers together. His other hand drifts down to her lower back, holding her close like that as he starts to slowly maneuver around with her. "I'm not exactly an expert but I did learn a thing or two from prom."

He almost wished they hadn't ditched the car so he could play them some music but he makes it work, humming to the tune of Waiting for a Girl Like You as he moves in step with her. The rest of the world around them may as well have ceased to exist as he held her close and then slowly spun her out before drawing her back into his arms. He wasn't sure how long they carried on like that for but he eventually brings the dance to an end, slowly dipping with her one final time before righting her again.

Still holding her close against him, the rain hadn't really let up any and they were both soaked down to the bone. Leaning in the capture her lips in a tender kiss, he pulls back with a small smile. "This was fun..." He tells her, because he had meant it when he said it didn't matter what they did so long as he got to be with her. "Maybe we should..." He pauses, a light bulb going off in his head as an idea suddenly struck him. He was about to suggest that maybe they go back to the car and head home to get dry but the date didn't have to end here. "You know what? I have an idea."

"Okay, so it's not exactly the cinemas," Steve starts to explain as he guides Nancy along, walking more fast pace so they could finally get out of this rain. Stopping very briefly as they arrived, he gestures toward the Family Video across the street with a nod of his head. "But it's pretty damn close, right?" So maybe it wasn't that close but it had a nice selection of movies and some snacks the theater usually sold, minus the movie theater popcorn since the packaged stuff just didn't hit the same. Still, there was a nice size TV inside and he had his own keys. They could make it work.

CageBlade: This is the only Canon ship that I like in the series. I love their dynamic and how they get back together at the end because they realized how much they love each other. Their story's the same as the game in this AU, with some of the Legands movies sprinkled in!

The ships that I use for my AU

FireDance: Ah, my OTP! This ship consists of my oc Varian and our lovable wraith, Hanzo! Funnily enough, Varian was originally going to be with Bi-Han before he died and then ultimately end up with Kotal. But after fully finishing her backstory, I decided that she was better suited for Hanzo. I feel like they balance each other out very well in every aspect. Sigh, they just make me so happy! I also just want Hanzo to be happy since NRS is apparently allergic to that.

LiuLao: OK BEFORE WE GO ANY FURTHER I WANT TO MAKE THIS CLEAR- Liu Kang and Kung Lao are NOT related! Tobias HIMSELF had to step in and make it clear that it was an error on the movie's part! They never have been and never will be blood related! OK, on with the ship: I FRICKIN LOVE THESE TWO! They were my first ever mk ship! I just love their dynamic and how their meant to be foils to each other! I'm so weak for the childhood friends trope. Everything about them is *chefs kiss*. Also in my AU, they don't die stupid deaths and become evil for the sake of shock value. They instead stay alive and raise Jin together so he can be happy, healthy, and ACCEPTED!

Jatana: Man, am I predictable or what? XD I ship these two for a lot of the same reasons I ship LiuLao. They have such amazing chemistry with each other, I love every scene the have together. THE WAY JADE IS SO PROTECTIVE OF KITANA IS JUST SO IMMACULATE! I'm weak for lesbian warriors protecting their lesbian princesses. It's the good food right there. They die but get resurrected and rule Outworld together as Queens.

ArticGem: So this ship is between Kuai Liang and an oc that I haven't introduced yet: Ruby. I came up with this ship because while I do ship SubScorp, I hc both Kuai and Hanzo as bi and I wanted to try shipping Kuai with a woman for once. Ruby was an already made oc (with full backstory and design) that I was gonna have be on her own, but I wanted her to be my guinea pig for my shipping experiment. It wasn't meant to be permanent but here we are. I'll explain their relationship more when I have Ruby's outline done.

StryBal: I absolutely love the idea of a New York City cop dating a Black Dragon member. Know what I love more? Stryker being a backstabbing bitch and being a secret BD member and selling all of the NYPD's secrets. Basically, these two are the bastard power couple that no one expects, and that no one can really trust (except for each other).

RatTheif: That's right. In this AU, Erron and Kano dated. The relationship was mostly sexual, with Erron really only being interested because of the special treatment he got. Kano was only interested in the sex and adrenaline rushes. When Erron said he was done, Kano didn't believe him. While he was asleep, Erron took all of his shit and sold it before returning to Outworld. Kanos still pissed about it. I'm literally only using this ship for shits and giggles for the backstory.

Rain X Mileena: They both used each other with the plan of betraying the other. Both had the gall to be shocked when it eventually happened. I like the idea of two people using each other for the same reasons. It makes a fun read for me personally.

SubSmoke: They tried it because they thought that they loved each other romantically. While it was true on Kuai's end, Tomas was AroAce with both romance and sex repulsion. He apologized to Kuai, genuinely feeling horrible for starting something serious like this only to end it abruptly. Kuai held no grudge against him, supporting him fully and not tolerating any hate thrown Tomas' way. I like these two together as friends, I've always had the AroAce hc for Smoke, but I imagine him trying something out before ultimately realizing his Sexuality. And Kuai being nothing but supportive of his BFF! (P.S. I know that AroAce people can still find love/have sex, but I personally hc Smoke as being repulsed by those things for himself! I hope you understand!)

lmao I still remember watching that makeout scene for the first time. i was a casual viewer and had no idea what byler was and I thought milkvan was the endgame couple so i was scrolling through my phone when that scene started and i remember going 'eww eww eww no what the fuck' and i had to fast forward because i couldn't do it. now i'm wondering if this is what the writers actually wanted to show with that scene

Lmao, probably. I've seen a lot of different adults who were uncomfortable watching it, too. I thought it was just me at first, and then I saw so many other adults who were uncomfortable with it, too. The way it was framed almost makes me think it was intentional, too. I didn't think Byler was going to be a thing until season 3, although I picked up on the vibes in season 2. The theater scene and rain fight were the things that really clued me in on it, and then that awkward Milkvan kiss at the end of the season where Mike was stiff as a board (I still get claustrophobic from that by the way) juxtaposed with how happy Mike was that Will wouldn't join another party pretty much sold me on it.

SPN has so much spinoff potential and so much canon to work with, it's such a waste that none of it's getting used. This post is just all of my spinoff ideas, I'll apologize in advance because it is VERY long.

Wayward Sisters, obviously. There are so many possible storylines to work with, so many stories to tell. I'd really love to see some Charlie, Eileen, or Krissy Chambers cameos. I think that Charlie and Claire would get along really well (just read this post). Rowena is another character that I think could easily be worked into the canon. She could teach the girls all kinds of magic and be the fun wine aunt that spoils the girls on their birthdays. I don't think that Claire would like her very much, but, Rowena and Alex would probably get along just fine. How much I need this in my life: 1000000000000000000000000/10 when I heard that this idea had been tossed out I was so angry. Why doesn't this exist?

Men of Letters prequel that's mostly set in the bunker. This show could really expand on the canon lore and give us some more background on the Men of Letters, as well as any other similar/rival organizations that were around before the main show's time. The Men of Letters have so much story potential for a spin-off; corrupt leadership, new monsters, other organizations, expanding the MoL to outside the U.S. Episodes could be in a monster-of-the-week (MOTW) format, starting and ending with the Man of Letters the case is assigned to making notes in his journal or case file or talking about the case, as well as the overall season arcs. Episodes would be titled by their case number, i.e S1 E1 Case No. 1925-4, etc How much I need this in my life: 1000000/10, the supernatural/historical drama combo would be absolutely stunning.

A series focusing on all of the alternate timelines and universes, both the ones mentioned in the main show and ones just randomly created for an episode. There are infinite possibilities. Each episode would be in a MOTW format, but with different versions of Sam and Dean. The HunterCorp universe, Jared and Jensen from the French Mistake, a universe where their names are switched, a universe where Dean went to college and was the one with the demon blood powers, a universe where they drive a Mustang instead of the Impala, a universe where Sam isn't scared of clowns. I could go on, but I'm going to stop myself here. How much I need this in my life: 9/10 I think it would be pretty funny, but it's not my best idea.

A Bobby and Rufus spin-off where they talk about cases they worked on together or with other hunters, but the stories are told similarly to Tall Tales. It's the same story but told from different points of view depending on who's talking. I wish we'd gotten to see more of Bobby and Rufus because I think those two are hilarious and really think that this could be funny, even if it was just a web series with twenty-minute episodes. How much I need this in my life: 10/10, I love Bobby and Rufus and I think that they have a lot of interesting hunting stories to tell.

GHOSTFACERS GHOSTFACERS GHOSTFACERS. How much I need this in my life: 100000000000000000000000/10, I love the Ghostfacers. That's my whole idea.

A Jack-centric show that's almost a political drama. Jack is the ruler of heaven and is constantly being manipulated by angels, demons, and Death herself. He just wants to make an afterlife paradise, but power-hungry angels won't leave him alone. Remember that Jack is very young and trusting by nature, so there is a lot of potential for disaster if he gets goaded into doing something, like making new universes or ending existing ones. Cas is a main character and he does his best to protect Jack, but he has to be careful to not seem overprotective/like another manipulator or Jack won't trust him either. I have no idea if I'm making any sense, but shoutout to me if I am. For some reason, I've always thought that heaven would be an interesting setting for a spin-off, and those angels are pretty similar to power-hungry politicians. How much I need this in my life: 800/10, I would totally watch this.

A very short series that just destroys the canon finale. Twelve episodes, detailing the storylines that were ignored or destroyed by Carry On. E1: Rescuing Cas from the Empty and he and Dean have a long talk about their ~feelings~. They kiss, and for the first time, Dean’s mind is free of doubt about whether or not anyone could ever love all of him. E2: Eileen returns. She says nothing when she sees Dean and Cas holding hands, just raises her eyebrow and smiles knowingly. Some excellent movie night content. E3: 1 year later. Sam and Eileen’s wedding. Dean and Cas aren’t legally married, but their matching gold rings are very prominently shown. It isn’t mentioned. The wedding is almost canceled because of the rain, but with a wave of Jack’s hand the clouds disappear and the birds start to sing. E4: Sam and Eileen have moved out of the Bunker. Cas finally convinces Dean to downsize, so they find a little house in Lawrence and settle down. Cas works as a special ed teacher. Dean works as a mechanic. Miracle loves the backyard but makes sure to stay away from the beehives in the back corner. E5: Sam and Eileen’s twins, Mary and Maura, are born. Dean and Cas love their nieces, and Jack loves them too. He doesn’t know what to call himself, so they settle on Uncle and call it good. E6: Deaths. They all die old. Cas’s vessel has aged, but he can’t die, so when Dean finally passes away in his sleep, Cas scatters his ashes in the woods and disappears, ascending to heaven, to spend eternity with Dean. The closing scene is a dark screen, with the whoosh of wings and a soft “Hello, Dean.” OK. That was a long one. My apologies. How much I need this in my life: 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10. I would reach nerdvana thirty seconds into episode one.

Another spinoff of that idea is just...Dean and Cas living a normal life. Short episodes. Cas goes to the grocery store. Dean drags Cas to a horror movie fan convention. Cas meets a roomba. How much I need this in my life: I can’t type enough zeroes to express it.

Campbell prequel that focuses on Mary and her childhood. Mary being raised as a hunter but not being allowed on hunts. Mary rushing home to finish her chemistry homework so she can help her dad track a nest of vampires moving east. Mary missing her prom to help Samuel on a hunt. Mary trying to keep her real life secret from John, a man she knows loves the parts of her he knows about. Mary always being an outsider, the kindest and most beautiful girl in her class, but so slow to trust and quick to speak that everyone is afraid to be her friend. Mary is a character that has the potential a lot more development, for twelve seasons she’s the burning martyr in every Winchester’s imagined paradise. She deserves more. How much I need this in my life: 11/10, Mary isn’t my favorite character but I would die for her.

Gabriel spin-off. That’s it, that’s the idea. How much I need this in my life: 10000000/10, Gabriel is a character that we don’t know a lot about so there are so many possible directions for a story about him to go.

Show set in the SPN universe that doesn’t really interact with the main show’s canon. It’s about two cops in the 30s that become hunters by accident. After investigating the apparent suicide of a hunter in their small town, they become enthralled by her library, filled with books about ghosts and vampires. They pour over her journals on their own time, fascinated by what they’re reading. They get to know the hunter through her writings, her accounts of her hunts and travels. Eventually, a nest of vampires settles in the town and the two put their newfound knowledge to the test. This show would just be based on canon lore, there wouldn’t be any mention of the Winchesters or other main characters, although a few MoL team-ups is definitely a possibility. The two become quite a team, tracking werewolf backs on bulletin boards in their basements and hoarding rock salt. How much I need this in my life: 89/10, I think this could be really interesting and I am a sucker for historical hunters.

Speaking of historical hunters-Samuel Colt prequel. Cowboys, vampires, cowpires. Hunting in the wild west, galloping across the prairie chasing a pack of werewolves. This show could also tell us a lot about how different types of monsters spread across the U.S. Ghosts will go anywhere people go, but what about vampires? Shapeshifters? Ghouls? What was it like to hunt without technology to help with research? The hunters in this series would be the authors of the journals that modern hunters use every day. They’re the ones that tested tracking and trapping methods. Again, no idea if this is making sense, but I think that a supernatural western would be really awesome and would expand/substantiate the canon lore. How much I need this in my life: 1000000000000000000000000000000/10, I love cowboys and I love Supernatural. This is literally the best thing that could ever happen to me.

Crowley. I want to know more about him. A series that tells us all about Fergus Roderick MacLeod, starting with when he was born in Scotland and ending with his death in All Along the Watchtower. We know that Rowena was his mother, that he was a tailor, that he sold his soul for an extra three inches ~down there~, and that he was a terrible dad. I want to know more about his childhood, about the people he made deals with, about how he became king of the crossroads and of Hell. Crowley was a very interesting character that was abused by the story. I want to know more about him. How much I need this in my life: 10000000000000000000000000000000000000/10, I really do love Crowley and I would watch this a thousand times over.

Final idea: MOTW only. No season arc, no overall storyline. New hunters every episode, from all different times, from over the world. All kinds of monsters. One episode in Victorian England, the next in 1990s Los Angeles. Very few recurring characters, if any. The recurring characters would be the Bobby Singers of the world; the lore guys that you call when you need help. Each new character has their own style, own car, own music, own personality. The show could have some a m a z i n g guest stars because they’d only appear in a few episodes. There are so many possibilities for episodes, even if they weren’t full length. How much I need this in my life: 100000/10, I love MOTW episodes and would really like to get to know the characters. It would be very easy to write one-off fanfics for this show, and also very easy to introduce this show’s characters into Supernatural’s canon.

looking for a fic again, i'm not 100% sold on the details. i thought it was wangxian, it should be, wwx was a cop and disappeared for like 3 years under suspicious circumstances and then comes back. pretty sure most everyone else was also police centric. the wens were definitely the reason he disappeared. there is something about grave digging in the rain towards the end, maybe?

Hmm, I have  these dreams, like ashes (float away) by @astarlightmonbebe wherein wwx left for 13 years before returning, and everyone is a cop.  He’s under suspicion of a new murder and being investigated by Lan Wangji and his team of Juniors (although lwj clearly knows he didn’t do it).  And there’s  medium blues by monsoon_season which is an urban fantasy where wwx is a psychic consulted by the police department (lwj).

I have a police/detective au tag, but it doesn’t suggest any further that might be what you’re looking for.

Hi you... if you were going to curate a little season of films for me, which ones would you choose and why? They don't need to be horror, I'm just curious what you would choose 🌸

I don’t know if you’ll like these movies, or if you’ve already watched them, but after i watched these films, i felt like they might need to belong to you now. i hope they make you smile, roll your eyes, and cry just as much as i did.

1. city of god (2002): this is one of the most immersive and gorgeously shot films i’ve ever seen. it’s set in rio de janeiro during the 60s and spans decades exploring the drug culture in the slums and how this can affect kids just as they are trying to figure their own selves out. the way this film is shot, feels like you were at the sea with them as the sand crunched underneath your feet. but the way that the director captures these individuals, makes you so fucking relieved that you don’t live through any of the circumstances that they go through. 

2. the dreamers (2004): set in 1968, this film follows three students in Paris who come of age and explore one another and their limits during the revolution. while these students prop themselves up as individuals obsessed with sex, running underneath themselves is a current of jealousy, obsession, and blurred familial relationships that made me increasingly uncomfortable. you find yourself feeling bad for the children, and ultimately upset at their upbringing because of their parents. 

3. if beale street could talk (2018): this movie is based off of james baldwin’s titular 1974 novel. in it, the director expertly and vigorously explores love: a love that feels so real that it hurts. the cast is what sold this film to me. the way they talk, laugh, cry, and smile at one another is achingly beautiful and terrifyingly sad. i wanted to transport myself back to their time period and watch the main characters fall in love because the film didn’t seem like enough. 

4. the neon demon (2016): this film follows an emerging model who sacrifices herself to the demands of the industry in order to be attractive and beautiful. there are so many stunning colors in this film that it makes you dizzy, like you’re in a trance and that’s what this world is for the main character: a trance. as she oscillates between reality and fantasy, her world and the characters in it, increasingly seek out to alter her personality. 

5. death becomes her (1992): a deliberately ultra-campy parody of trashy, pandering "women's pictures," soap operas and paperbacks from the '80s and '90s. The three leads all do some of their best work - it's hilarious watching Meryl Streep play a terrible actress, Goldie Hawn is particularly hilarious during her character's cat lady phase, and all around just a really fun and eccentric film. 

6. princess cyd (2017): i can’t think of anything to write for this but i just wanna say that this is literally one of the most pleasant movie experiences i’ve ever had. so much light and genuine interaction in warm sun rays radiating positive energy and an openness that is far too uncommon in movies nowadays. people talk, people connect, people grow bonds and are allowed to be sexual or intimate or personal without an air of shame or judgement. just pure kind and curious human association. 

7. spiderman: into the spiderverse (2018): the message of Spider-Verse is not "gentrify yourself! stop expressing your personality and just conform to what society wants you to be!" After all, what makes you different makes you Spider-Man, and Miles' final expression of himself as a superhero still retains much of his personality and individuality...they're just being used in more productive and fulfilling ways. It's the little things that drive the point home, like noticing that the title page for Miles' finished Great Expectations essay has been stylistically doodled and colored like street art. Rather than seeing his artistic gifts as an opposition to his schoolwork, Miles infuses them together to make the best of the hand he's been dealt.

8. my life as a zucchini (2016): initially heartbreaking and sad, but slowly becoming more joyful and heartwarming as the plot moves along. The film really feels like it captures the essence and child like wonder of these kids, all of them going through hardships but managing to find something to help each other out. It’s so refreshing to see the actual orphanage portrayed in a more positive light, not the usual horrid dump that a lot of lesser movies play them out as. The animation is stunning. One of the best uses of stop motion I’ve seen, everything is so colourful and detailed. There’s some moments set in snowy mountains and these look incredible. There’s clearly been so much love and care put into each and every scene here. The music too, sounds spectacular, it really works well with each scene. 

9. lovesong (2016): Mindy and Sarah have that type of relationship where they don't need words because they speak in a language made out of glances and touches. This movie is about the fear of ruining a meaningful friendship and losing an important person, about love that is so complicated that one might not even try because the outcome seems to be so obvious.

10. her (2013): Heartbreak is formative: it changes you heart side out, and leaves your muscles a little stronger, your skin a little thicker, your bones easier to repair. Before this film, I’d never seen anything constructive in having your insides pulled apart by the seams by another person, but this film taught me how. Being in love and then being forced out of it is an experience that changes you fundamentally, but Her taught me its purpose – you don’t need them to leave you so that you can find someone who’s a better fit, because perhaps you never will. You need it to participate in humanity. The common denominator is being hurt, and without it, you’re barely alive.

11. shoplifters (2018): bittersweet and richly transportive, Shoplifters is a film that nonchalantly eases you into its tragic beauty in a way that doesn't punch you hard until the end. It simultaneously made me want to be part of the film's world and also very glad that I'm not. The setting the characters live in is messy and cluttered and full of dysfunction and lies, but it's also got family, and laughter, and fist-bumps, and slurping warm noodles while rain pings on the tin rooftop. So nuanced, so many tiny moments of delicate beauty and unassuming heartbreak, so many people making terrible decisions with good intentions.

12. god’s own country (2017): though it is a love story between two men, this aspect is only addressed briefly in a single scene. Rather, the film is about finding someone who makes you want to be a better person, someone who comes into your life just when you needed it most. Gheorghe helps Johnny open up and realize the beauty of the simple life. From this relationship, Johnny begins to feel comfortable with expressing himself, and his love and gratitude towards others. He also begins to appreciate life in the country, surrounded by stunning landscapes and the beauty of simplicity. Addressing the Yorkshire countryside, Gheorghe says "It is beautiful, but lonely." Johnny is presented with the notion that he doesn't have to be cold and miserable, slaving and drinking his days away. He is presented with the possibility of no longer being alone and finally finding happiness and contentment - and it is more than gratifying to see him accept it.

13. disobedience (2017): a tender star-crossed daydream. the three main character dynamics are special enough on their own, but the romance that blooms at the center is cathartically intimate and even magical: a reunion that feels so inevitable. catching glimpses of a past life, details we aren’t privy to. all the stolen kisses and whispers and promises. a bond so strong that they fall back in sync with each other like second nature, even if they try to fight against it. even if it won’t work. and yet they choose each other, even if for a few minutes.

14. raw (2016): this film is so gross and I like that. There is tons of blood and unique body horror and it all works perfectly for the tone the film is attempting to set. The use of color, specifically neons, creates a constant feeling that you are traveling through some sort of weird ghost world, which I really like. Overall, it's a very well put together film with flashes of brilliance.

15. the night is short, walk on girl (2017): what an absolutely magical adventure of a film. Essentially this is a heavily episodic look at a night in the lives of several people, centered on a woman and a man as she gleefully floats from event to event while he neurotically obsesses over how to "coincidentally" talk to her. The storytelling is incredible; while the overarching narrative is simple there are countless threads woven together to connect everyone in the story to each other. That in itself is a big theme: connections between people, how everything is interrelated, and what a large impact seemingly insignificant things people do can have an impact on everyone around them.

16. coraline (2009): Coraline is the best stop motion movie ever made in my opinion. Before the film released in 2009, I read the book and was completely blown away by its creativity and story. It’s a pretty dark tale featuring many scenes of fright that work well in both a horror setting and an animated kids setting. On surface value, this film is quite horrifying, which is something I’ve always loved about it. While it does make a few minor changes to the book, it improves upon a piece of art that was already jaw-droppingly good. Coraline feels like a real little girl with some real problems. She’s selfish but likable which is something most films cannot translate well. Of course, she has a pretty awesome arc as well which brings this movie to a perfect close for her character. The other-mother is also perfectly done. She is almost exactly how I imagined her in the book and the animation on her is spookily gorgeous. There is not one dull moment in this film. It is literally a perfect piece of cinema.

17. the third wife (2019): haven’t seen a film this visually delicate in a while. Ash Mayfair works with the looming mountain surroundings to make her characters —these women, these girls— as small as possible, as isolated as possible. Uneasiest of all is the protagonist May, so young and so weighed by responsibility, her position blurs between being one of the wives and being one of the daughters. It’s an extremely bleak tale of circumstance. An old tale, certainly, but so beautifully crafted it doesn’t matter. Mayfair holds a fearful tension throughout, and it only ever shatters in the cruelest of ways.The abundance of women and display of sisterhood begin as a comfort, but horror takes over as we realize how conditional and fragile that comfort is. Even the daughters are subconsciously aware, one of them praying to the gods to grow up and become a man, shearing her hair off in naive triumph. It’s a doomed cycle of girls performing roles which are unfortunately their best option, right up until the final scene of May with her daughter, still in their mourning clothes. She, like the older wives, finally realizes they’re the same as the cattle laying on their side for too many days.

Inco's past....

(An Interview with Lusty and Inco)

Reader: *sits down in a chair and set recorder on the coffee table* *inner thoughts* Okay everything is set up, time to find out how Inco was created....You can come in now!

*Lusty slowly walks in and sits on the velet couch facing you*

Lusty: H-Hello

Reader: Hello Lusty, *starts recorder* All I want to know is, what made Inco who he is now?

*Lusty gulps hard then lets out a deep sigh*

Lusty: Well, From what he's told me, his first time here on earth...Wasn't the best first impression....

So....His Joey and Henry were making new toons for their Bendy, who was lonely at the time, so they made an Boris and Alice for him. When they were making him into a real toon, something went wrong...From what he heard, someone accedentily put both designs into the pentagram and out from the Ink Machine Inco flew out and slamed head-first into a wall, talk about being a toon from birth. He looked up to see a pentagram and freaked out, crawling along the floor until he was crudely picked up by his Joey, the first he remembered was the look of disgust on his Joey's face

*Inco walks in with a tray, a teapot some teabags, a milk jug, a sugar pot, a spoon and three cups sat on the tray. He placed them on the table and sat next to Lusty*

Inco: Well while we're here, I thought that I would make us some tea, do you want milk?

*He asked you as he filled a up with a cup with hot water and drops in a teabag, he stirs the water until it turns golden brown, squezzes the teabag into the cups and places in on the tray*

*You take the cup into your hands, carefull of the hot water*

Sure, thanks Inco...I was just asking your friend here about your past, may we can see from your ponit of view? If your okay with talking about it, of course

*He rubbed his arm, ears flat against his head, looking away. Lusty placed a hand on Inco's shoulder, a worried look on his face. Exhaling a deep breath, Inco took Lusty's hand in his hands, smiling softly*

Inco: It's about time I told someone what happened to me....

*Inco breathed in deeply then he let out a large breath*

Inco: Well, I continue from where Lusty felt off, Well, When Joey picked me he actually made a scoffing sound.

*Inco makes a large ball of fire and sets in down on the table, you look into it, it shows two men, one holding Inco by the scruff of his neck and the other who's arms are wrapped around his waist*

Voices from inside the fire ball: This is what I get?! Look at him, what a waste of Ink and my time" "Joey! Be nice! She was just born for god sake!" "I don't care! I wasted time on this mistake!

*He pulled the pup close to his face, scowling*

You're a MISTAKE! A ACCIDENT! YOU'RE NOTHING TO ME! I DON'T NEED YOU!

*He tossed the pup away, the pup's little body slamming against the wall, Henry ran over to the pup's body, small whimpers coming from the pup*

Shh~ It's okay, I'm here....Hmm, An angelic wolf, this could work, it's a nice twist

Inco: As you can see, the first moments of my life were....Overwhelming, to say the least.... *coughs slightly*

*You take a sip of tea, a worried look on your face as you watch the fire show another scene*

Inco: This was me at toddler age, meeting my Bendy for the first time, I have to admit, He was gorgeous when I first saw him.

*You smile softly as you stare into the fire ball, a smaller Inco trots behind Henry as they approach a demon sitting in a lounge chair, he puts a book down and smiles at the wolf pup who looks up at him, eyes wide and blushing*

Henry: Bendy, A little wolf would like to meet you, say hello to Inco! Your angelic wolf!

*Bendy picks up the pup and rests the pup in his lap, he takes the pup's little hand and plants a small kiss*

Bendy: Hello sweetie~ So, you're gonna be my enemy, I'd rather be your friend"

*The pup blushes and giggles, holding onto Bendy's hand. Henry smiles softly as Bendy plays with Inco, he turns to face Joey, who is scowling at Inco*

*Inco's smile turned bittersweet*

Inco: One of the rare happiest moments of my life....

*You shrink back at the next image that is shown, It's a dark room, lit only by candles, Joey is yelling and beating the now older Inco, who is crying out for help. Henry and Bendy bust the locked door down, Henry wrestles with Joey while Bendy tries to grab Inco, But Joey grabs Inco and holds a knife to his throat, Inco grabs onto Joey's arms, eyes filled with fear*

*You hide behind the cup, fearing for Inco's life*

Bendy: Joey! Don't do this! Don't kill her! Please!

Joey: What's the point in keeping this MISTAKE!? It does nothing but remind me of what I could have had!

*He drops Inco, who quickly crawls over to Bendy*

Bendy: Shh~ It's okay, It's okay...Shh~

*You breath a sigh of relief, You slowly take a sip of tea, you notice Inco tearing up slightly*

Reader: Hey, we can stop if you can't handle this....

Inco: No, it's okay, it's okay....We're coming up to the first time I fell in love

*You look as a new toon is walking around a garden*

*Inco is picking flowers and is making a flower crown when he looks to the new toon, leaning on a wall*

*Inco looked up and blushed*

Inco: This is Cada, he was a demon....My demon~ I fell hard for him, he was sweet, loving and kind, our first kiss was like kissing a cloud, I was on Cloud Nine~ It was Heaven...but sadly, Five years later, everything came crashing down

It was late, about 9:30 at night, I was hurriedly looking for Cada, who had been missing for three days. I walked into the Ink machine room and froze, Joey stood above Cada's dead body, a ink-covered knife in his hand, he laughed insanely as he turned to me. Something broke inside me, I got down on my hands and bolted towards Joey, claws and teeth rushing at him, I tore him to pieces.

Reader: Oh my god, what happened next?

*Lusty held Inco's hand, tears formed in his eyes*

Reader: Do you need a break? I don't mind

Inco: No, no It's okay...

*He wipes his eyes and sighs loudly*

Inco: I snapped out of my anger and scrabbled over to Cada's body, I checked for a pulse, none, a heartbeat, none....He was dead, I howled in pain as I felt my heart break, then I had a idea, Using Joey's blood, I made a pentagram and I made a portal to Hell itself, I cradled Cada's body in my arms as I walked through hell, I saw thing beyond your worst nightmares, I finally reached the Devil himself, he leaned over me, a amused look on his face.

The Devil: Now~ What is an angel doing in hell?~

Inco: I want you to bring Cada back! Please....Bring him back!...I need him back

The Devil: Are you making a deal with me?

Inco: YES, I AM!

The Devil: Calm down, sweet heart~

*He held out his hand to Inco*

Inco: If I give you my soul, will you bring Cada back?

The Devil: Yes, I will

*Inco took The Devil's hand and shook it, he felt his soul fly out of his body and into The Devil's hand, taking the form of a ball of fire*

Inco: He slowly rose from the ground, At first he had no idea where he was, he staggter towards me. I held onto him, crying tears of joy but that slowly faded as he turned away from me and walked over to The Devil

Inco: He sat on The Devil's lap, laughing at me. I just stared at him....

*You look inside the fire ball*

Inco: Wha...Cada? Why?! I thought you loved me.....

Cada: Oh, poor little angel~ Did you think I ever loved you? I love this big guy right here, not some angel, Sorry sweetie~

Inco: But...I gave up my soul for you! I love you, Cada!

Cada: Aww~ Welp, Devil sweetie?

The Devil: Yes, My little demon?~

Cada: Can I eat her soul? I'm so hungry

The Devil: Of course you can~

*You watch as the demon grabbed the soul and put it in his mouth*

*Inco fell to his knees, crying as his soul was eaten infront of him*

Inco: So what now? I just stay here so I can be tormented by seeing you two together forever?

The Devil: No, I'm sending you back up, See you, sweetheart

Inco: And with that, I was sent back up, without a soul, I passed out. Henry then walked in. He ran over to me and held me in his arms, wrapping me in a blanket, he ran out of the studio and headed for here, The Devil's den.

Reader: So then, Lusty, can we hear your side of the story?

*Lusty held onto Inco's hand, handing him a tissue*

Lusty: Well...Me and her creator didn't have a good relationship, I was okay with Henry but Joey...I wanted to kill him.

Lusty: It was storming outside, Feather and Nimbus were upstairs, Crimson, Tiamo and I were downstairs making dinner when I heard frantic knocking on the front door. I walked over to it, opened it and there he was, drenched in rain, a bundle of cloth in his arms.

*You look into the fire, feeling sad and worried for Inco's life*

Lusty: Henry? What's wrong? Wait....Is that?.....What happened to Inco?!

Henry: Inco's....Not breathing! I....I think he's dead! Help me....Please...

Lusty: *sighs*

Okay, Come in, we'll try our best....Crimson, Tiamo...It's Inco

*The two other demons looked shocked and scared, one walked up to Lusty and Henry*

Tiamo: Can I see Inco for a second?

Henry: O-Of course...

*He lays the bundle down, wrapping the blanket shows Inco, still, covered in blood*

*Tiamo places two fingers on Inco's neck...No pulse, he puts his head to Inco's chest....No heartbeat*

Tiamo: Something's not right.....

*His hands light up with a dark red glow, he places a hand on Inco's chest....He frowns*

Henry: W....What's wrong?

*Tiamo gets up, he crosses his arms still frowning, Lusty kneels next to Inco, placing a hand on Inco head*

Tiamo: He has no soul...What happened?

Henry: I don't know...I found him like this...Next to Joey's dead body...

*Tiamo paced back and forth before looking to Lusty, who reals back*

Lusty: He...Sold his soul to The devil to bring back his true love but, his love betrayed him, choosing the devil instead of him, I know what to do.

*He went to the kitchen, opening a drawer he took out a large knife. Henry picked Inco up and followed Lusty, He walked into another room, it was large like a theatre, the floor was jet black and sparkling. He stood in the middle of the room, Gritting his teeth he cut his arm. He then drew a pentagram in the middle of the floor, adding some symbols into it*

*Herny looked slightly*

Henry: What do those symbols mean?

Lusty: Their Lust demon symbols, it's to call our version of the devil

*Lusty walked over to Henry and gently took Inco's body into his arms, he stood infront of the glowing pentagram. A larger demon rose from it. Lusty got on his knees, bowing his head in respect*

*The demon walked toward Lusty, knelling infront of him. A sombre look on his face as he tilted Lusty's head up*

Lust Devil: What has happened to this angel?

Lusty: He...He sold his soul to bring his lover back but sadly. He was betrayed....Now, he's soulless

Lust Devil: Poor thing~ I was talking to my brother, the true devil, and he told me that the soul his new pet ate wasn't his soul, he gave me a small shard of it...Here, take it

*The demon held out his hand, a petal-like object floated in his hand, Lusty took it and pressed it into Inco's chest*

Lust Devil: I wish I could do more...Can I make a deal with you?

Lusty: Is there a catch to it?

Lust Devil: A slight one... A piece of Inco's soul will come back, when he has a good relationship weather it was romantic or platonic. If he find a new love, his soul will fully returned.

*Inco slowly woke up, feeling weak he leaned against Lusty*

Inco: L-Lusty, where am I? And who is this?

*You look up from the ball, Inco was resting in Lusty's lap, softly crying while Lusty strokes his head*

Reader: Is he okay, we can stop if we need to...

*Inco shakes his head, still crying*

Lusty: Don't push yourself sweetie~ Let me tell the rest of the tale...

Lusty: So, when I explained what was happening and what Henry had told me, I held him up and my version of the devil retold him the deal, telling him he only had a shard of his soul.

He was told that his soul was broken up in 100 pieces. 99 were left, Inco, me and the other had a sibling -like relationship, so one shard equals five people in total.

Inco shook his hand, the glow lost from his eyes. My devil looked him in the eyes, tilting his head up and holding his hand.

Lust Devil: Look at me sweetie~ Just because you're a demon, doesn't mean you're a monster~ You're like Lusty, you can have as many lovers as you want. And you can fall in love over and over again~ It's a demon's dream! But I will give you one angelic thing that you may have lost, Your wings right?

Lusty: He nodded, hugging his arms. My devil waved a hand over his back. A large pair of charcoal wings formed on his back.

He smiled softly. Feeling a little better about himself.

*Inco sat up and stretched his wings slightly, the wings looked a little torn but mostly intact*

*You smile softly, wanting to hug the poor thing sitting infront of you*

Lusty: When my devil left, Henry hugged Inco tight, He was so happy to have he's wolf back. He asked Inco to come home with him. But Inco said no, he asked why and Inco said, "I'm a demon now, not an angel. I belong with demons now...And besides, I don't think a Lust demon in your home would be a good idea"

Reader: So, that's happened? How are things now?

Inco: Things are better now, I've gotten used to the fact that I'm a demon who feeds off of a living being's Lust and desires. I haven't found a lover yet but I can wait forever for that to happen.

Lusty: Well, me and the rest of Devil's crew are like one big family, well kinda...But that's for another time *laughs*

Reader: So, you now live here?

Inco: Yeah, but it's way better than my birthplace, Crimson and Tiamo packed up the rest of my stuff and brought it here so I could feel more at home. I feel safe here.... It actually feels like a home and some studio that I was born into....I get nightmares about my past, sometimes I get flashbacks and they cause me to...Let's just say..."Lose the plot"

*He laughs nervously, rubbing his arm while Lusty hugs him from behind*

*You stop the recording tape*

Reader: Thank you for your time, I won't ask you anymore

*You leave the underground club that leads out to a alleyway*

*You go home to think about what you have learned*
